1 Te gen yon nonm yo te rele Mika ki te rete nan mòn peyi Efrayim yo.
2 Li di manman l’ konsa: -Lè yo te vòlò milsan (1.100) pyès lajan ou yo, ou te bay vòlò a madichon. Nou te tande ou ak pwòp zòrèy nou. Gade, men lajan an nan men m’. Se mwen menm ki te pran yo. Manman an di l’: -Se pou Seyè a beni ou, pitit mwen, pou sa!3 Mika renmèt milsan pyès lajan yo bay manman l’. Manman an di l’ konsa: -Mwen te mete lajan an apa pou Seyè a pou anyen pa rive ou, pitit gason mwen. W’a sèvi avè l’ pou fè yon zidòl, yon estati fonn nan moul. Se poutèt sa m’ap renmèt ou lajan an ankò.
4 Men, pitit la renmèt lajan an bay manman l’. Madanm lan pran desan (200) pyès an ajan, li bay yon bòs ki fè yon zidòl an bwa epi li kouvri li nèt ak ajan. Li mete li lakay Mika.
5 Nonm Mika a te mete yon kote apa pou li menm l’ al fè sèvis pou Seyè a. Li fè yon estati ansanm ak lòt ti zidòl wogatwa epi li chwazi yonn nan pitit gason li yo, li ba l’ pouvwa pou l’ sèvi l’ prèt.
6 Nan tan sa a, pa t’ gen wa nan peyi Izrayèl la. Chak moun t’ap fè sa yo pito.
7 Te gen yon jenn gason ki te rete lavil Betleyèm nan peyi Jida. Se te yon moun nan fanmi Levi yo.
8 Li kite lavil Betleyèm nan peyi Jida a, li pati, l’ al chache yon lòt kote pou l’ fè ladesant. Antan l’ap vwayaje konsa, li rive lakay Mika, nan mòn peyi Efrayim yo.
9 Mika mande l’: -Kote ou soti? Nèg la reponn: -Mwen se moun fanmi Levi, m’ soti lavil Betleyèm nan peyi Jida. M’ap chache yon lòt kote pou m’ fè ladesant.
10 Mika di l’ konsa: -Vin rete lakay mwen non. W’a tou sèvi m’ konseye ak prèt. M’a ba ou dis pyès lò chak lanne, san konte rad ak manje.
11 Moun Levi a te dakò pou l’ rete lakay Mika ki te sèvi avè l’ tankou pwòp pitit gason l’.
12 Mika menm bay moun Levi a pouvwa pou l’ sèvi l’ prèt. Se konsa, li rete nèt lakay Mika.
13 Lè sa a, Mika di konsa: -Koulye a, mwen konnen Seyè a pral fè tout zafè m’ mache byen paske mwen gen yon moun Levi k’ap sèvi m’ prèt.

1 Il y avait un homme de la montagne d’Éphraïm, nommé Mica.
2 Il dit à sa mère: Les mille et cent sicles d’argent qu’on t’a pris, et pour lesquels tu as fait des imprécations même à mes oreilles, voici, cet argent est entre mes mains, c’est moi qui l’avais pris. Et sa mère dit: Béni soit mon fils par l’Éternel!
3 Il rendit à sa mère les mille et cent sicles d’argent; et sa mère dit: Je consacre de ma main cet argent à l’Éternel, afin d’en faire pour mon fils une image taillée et une image en fonte; et c’est ainsi que je te le rendrai.
4 Il rendit à sa mère l’argent. Sa mère prit deux cents sicles d’argent. Et elle donna l’argent au fondeur, qui en fit une image taillée et une image en fonte. On les plaça dans la maison de Mica.
5 Ce Mica avait une maison de Dieu; il fit un éphod et des théraphim, et il consacra l’un de ses fils, qui lui servit de prêtre.
6 En ce temps-là, il n’y avait point de roi en Israël. Chacun faisait ce qui lui semblait bon.
7 Il y avait un jeune homme de Bethléhem de Juda, de la famille de Juda; il était Lévite, et il séjournait là.
8 Cet homme partit de la ville de Bethléhem de Juda, pour chercher une demeure qui lui convînt. En poursuivant son chemin, il arriva dans la montagne d’Éphraïm jusqu’à la maison de Mica.
9 Mica lui dit: D’où viens-tu? Il lui répondit: Je suis Lévite, de Bethléhem de Juda, et je voyage pour chercher une demeure qui me convienne.
10 Mica lui dit: Reste avec moi; tu me serviras de père et de prêtre, et je te donnerai dix sicles d’argent par année, les vêtements dont tu auras besoin, et ton entretien. Et le Lévite entra.
11 Il se décida ainsi à rester avec cet homme, qui regarda le jeune homme comme l’un de ses fils.
12 Mica consacra le Lévite, et ce jeune homme lui servit de prêtre et demeura dans sa maison.
13 Et Mica dit: Maintenant, je sais que l’Éternel me fera du bien, puisque j’ai ce Lévite pour prêtre.

1 And there was a man of mount Ephraim, whose name was Micah.
2 And he said unto his mother, The eleven hundred shekels of silver that were taken from thee, about which thou cursedst, and spakest of also in mine ears, behold, the silver is with me; I took it. And his mother said, Blessed be thou of the Lord, my son.
3 And when he had restored the eleven hundred shekels of silver to his mother, his mother said, I had wholly dedicated the silver unto the Lord from my hand for my son, to make a graven image and a molten image: now therefore I will restore it unto thee.
4 Yet he restored the money unto his mother; and his mother took two hundred shekels of silver, and gave them to the founder, who made thereof a graven image and a molten image: and they were in the house of Micah.
5 And the man Micah had an house of gods, and made an ephod, and teraphim, and consecrated one of his sons, who became his priest.
6 In those days there was no king in Israel, but every man did that which was right in his own eyes.
7 And there was a young man out of Bethlehemjudah of the family of Judah, who was a Levite, and he sojourned there.
8 And the man departed out of the city from Bethlehemjudah to sojourn where he could find a place: and he came to mount Ephraim to the house of Micah, as he journeyed.
9 And Micah said unto him, Whence comest thou? And he said unto him, I am a Levite of Bethlehemjudah, and I go to sojourn where I may find a place.
10 And Micah said unto him, Dwell with me, and be unto me a father and a priest, and I will give thee ten shekels of silver by the year, and a suit of apparel, and thy victuals. So the Levite went in.
11 And the Levite was content to dwell with the man; and the young man was unto him as one of his sons.
12 And Micah consecrated the Levite; and the young man became his priest, and was in the house of Micah.
13 Then said Micah, Now know I that the Lord will do me good, seeing I have a Levite to my priest.
