1 Abraram te pran yon lòt fanm yo te rele Ketoura.
2 Ketoura fè sis pitit pou li: Zimran, Joksan, Medan, Madyan, Jisbak ak Swak.
3 Joksan te papa Seba ak Dedan. Men pitit Dedan yo: Se te moun Achou yo, moun Letouch yo ak moun Lemou yo.
4 Men pitit Madyan yo: Se te Efa, Efe, Enòk, Abida ak Elda. Se tout moun sa yo ki te pitit ak pitit pitit Ketoura.
5 Abraram kite tout byen l’ yo pou Izarak.
6 Men anvan l’ mouri, li te bay pitit li te fè ak lòt fanm kay yo kèk kado. Apre sa, li fè yo pati, li voye yo byen lwen Izarak, pitit gason l’ lan, li voye yo nan peyi kote solèy leve a.
7 Abraram te viv sanswasannkenzan (175 an).
8 Abraram te fin granmoun, li te wè kont jou l’, li te pase vye jou l’ yo san pwoblèm. Apre sa li mouri, li al jwenn moun li yo ki te mouri deja.
9 Izarak ak Izmayèl, pitit li yo, antere l’ nan twou wòch Makpela a, nan jaden Efwon, pitit Zoka, yon moun Et, anfas Manmre.
10 Se jaden sa a Abraram te achte nan men mesye Et yo. Se la yo te antere Abraram ak Sara, madanm li.
11  Apre Abraram mouri, Bondye te beni Izarak, pitit gason l’ lan, ki te rete toupre Pi moun vivan ki wè m’ lan.
12 Men pitit pitit Izmayèl, pitit Abraram lan. Se Aga, moun peyi Lejip, sèvant Sara, ki te fè pitit sa a pou Abraram.
13 Men non pitit Izmayèl yo. N’ap konmanse ak pi gran an pou rive sou pi piti a. Nebajòt te premye pitit Izmayèl. Apre li vini Keda, Adbeyèl, Mibsam,
14 Michma, Douma, Masa,
15 Adad, Tema, Jetou, Nafich ak Kedma.
16 Se yo ki te pitit Izmayèl. Se konsa yo te rele yo ansanm ak tout katye kote yo te rete ak kote yo te moute tant yo. Sa te fè douz chèf, chak ak nasyon pa yo.
17 Izmayèl te gen santrannsetan (137 an) lè l’ mouri. Y al antere l’ menm kote ak moun li yo ki te mouri deja.
18 Pitit pitit Izmayèl yo te rete sou teritwa ki konmanse depi Avila rive jouk Chou, anfas peyi Lejip sou bò solèy leve a, anvan ou pran peyi Lasiri. Yo t’ap viv pou kont yo. Yo pa t’ mele ak rès fanmi yo.
19  Men istwa Izarak, pitit Abraram.
20 Abraram te papa Izarak. Izarak te gen karantan lè li marye ak Rebeka ki te pitit fi Betwèl, moun lavil Aram, ki te rete nan peyi Mezopotami an. Rebeka te sè Laban, moun lavil Aram.
21 Madanm Izarak pa t’ ka fè pitit. Izarak lapriyè Seyè a pou li, Seyè a reponn li. Rebeka, madanm li, vin ansent.
22 De ti pitit yo t’ap plede goumen nan vant li. Rebeka di: -Si se konsa sa ye, mwen pa konprann anyen? li al lapriyè Seyè a.
23 Seyè a reponn li: -Ou gen de nasyon nan vant ou. W’ap fè de pèp: chak ap pran bò pa yo. Yonn p’ap vle wè lòt. Yonn ap pi gwonèg pase lòt. Pi gran an pral sou zòd pi piti a.
24 Lè jou pou Rebeka akouche a rive, li fè de marasa.
25 Premye ki te fèt la te tout wouj. Li te kouvri ak pwal sou tout kò l’. Se poutèt sa yo te rele l’ Ezaou.
26 Lè dezyèm lan te fèt, men li te kenbe Ezaou nan talon pye l’: se poutèt sa yo rele l’ Jakòb. Izarak te gen swasantan sou tèt li lè yo te fèt.
27 Timoun yo grandi. Ezaou te vin yon bon chasè, li te toujou nan bwa. Men Jakòb te yon nonm byen dousman, li te renmen rete lakay.
28 Izarak te pito Ezaou, paske li te renmen manje vyann jibye, men Rebeka te pito Jakòb.
29  Yon jou, Jakòb te fin kwit yon bon bouyon, Ezaou antre sot nan jaden, li te bouke anpil.
30 Li di Jakòb konsa: -M’ap mouri grangou. Tanpri, ban m’ ti gout nan bouyon pwa wouj ou a. Se poutèt sa yo te bay Ezaou yon lòt ti non. Yo te rele l’ Edon.
31 Men Jakòb di l’: -M’ap ba ou ti gout si ou vann mwen dwa ou kòm premye pitit.
32 Ezaou reponn: -Dakò. Mwen pral mouri. Kisa dwa kòm premye pitit la ap sèvi m’?
33 Jakòb di li: -Fè m’ sèman anvan. Ezaou fè sèman ba li, li vann li dwa l’ kòm premye pitit.
34 Lèfini, Jakòb ba li pen ak ti gout nan bouyon pwa a. Ezaou manje, li bwè. Li leve, li pati. Konsa, Ezaou te konsidere dwa li kòm premye pitit pou anyen.

Genèse 25

1 Abraham prit encore une femme, nommée Ketura.
2 Elle lui enfanta Zimran, Jokschan, Medan, Madian, Jischbak et Schuach.
3 Jokschan engendra Séba et Dedan. Les fils de Dedan furent les Aschurim, les Letuschim et les Leummim.
4 Les fils de Madian furent Épha, Épher, Hénoc, Abida et Eldaa. -Ce sont là tous les fils de Ketura.
5 Abraham donna tous ses biens à Isaac.
6 Il fit des dons aux fils de ses concubines; et, tandis qu’il vivait encore, il les envoya loin de son fils Isaac du côté de l’orient, dans le pays d’Orient.
7 Voici les jours des années de la vie d’Abraham: il vécut cent soixante quinze ans.
8 Abraham expira et mourut, après une heureuse vieillesse, âgé et rassasié de jours, et il fut recueilli auprès de son peuple.
9 Isaac et Ismaël, ses fils, l’enterrèrent dans la caverne de Macpéla, dans le champ d’Éphron, fils de Tsochar, le Héthien, vis-à-vis de Mamré.
10 C’est le champ qu’Abraham avait acquis des fils de Heth. Là furent enterrés Abraham et Sara, sa femme.
11 Après la mort d’Abraham, Dieu bénit Isaac, son fils. Il habitait près du puits de Lachaï roï.
12 Voici la postérité d’Ismaël, fils d’Abraham, qu’Agar, l’Égyptienne, servante de Sara, avait enfanté à Abraham.
13 Voici les noms des fils d’Ismaël, par leurs noms, selon leurs générations: Nebajoth, premier-né d’Ismaël, Kédar, Adbeel, Mibsam,
14 Mischma, Duma, Massa,
15 Hadad, Théma, Jethur, Naphisch et Kedma.
16 Ce sont là les fils d’Ismaël; ce sont là leurs noms, selon leurs parcs et leurs enclos. Ils furent les douze chefs de leurs peuples.
17 Et voici les années de la vie d’Ismaël: cent trente-sept ans. Il expira et mourut, et il fut recueilli auprès de son peuple.
18 Ses fils habitèrent depuis Havila jusqu’à Schur, qui est en face de l’Égypte, en allant vers l’Assyrie. Il s’établit en présence de tous ses frères.
19 Voici la postérité d’Isaac, fils d’Abraham.
20 Abraham engendra Isaac. Isaac était âgé de quarante ans, quand il prit pour femme Rebecca, fille de Bethuel, l’Araméen, de Paddan Aram, et soeur de Laban, l’Araméen.
21 Isaac implora l’Éternel pour sa femme, car elle était stérile, et l’Éternel l’exauça: Rebecca, sa femme, devint enceinte.
22 Les enfants se heurtaient dans son sein; et elle dit: S’il en est ainsi, pourquoi suis-je enceinte? Elle alla consulter l’Éternel.
23 Et l’Éternel lui dit: Deux nations sont dans ton ventre, et deux peuples se sépareront au sortir de tes entrailles; un de ces peuples sera plus fort que l’autre, et le plus grand sera assujetti au plus petit.
24 Les jours où elle devait accoucher s’accomplirent; et voici, il y avait deux jumeaux dans son ventre.
25 Le premier sortit entièrement roux, comme un manteau de poil; et on lui donna le nom d’Ésaü.
26 Ensuite sortit son frère, dont la main tenait le talon d’Ésaü; et on lui donna le nom de Jacob. Isaac était âgé de soixante ans, lorsqu’ils naquirent.
27 Ces enfants grandirent. Ésaü devint un habile chasseur, un homme des champs; mais Jacob fut un homme tranquille, qui restait sous les tentes.
28 Isaac aimait Ésaü, parce qu’il mangeait du gibier; et Rebecca aimait Jacob.
29 Comme Jacob faisait cuire un potage, Ésaü revint des champs, accablé de fatigue.
30 Et Ésaü dit à Jacob: Laisse-moi, je te prie, manger de ce roux, de ce roux-là, car je suis fatigué. C’est pour cela qu’on a donné à Ésaü le nom d’Édom.
31 Jacob dit: Vends-moi aujourd’hui ton droit d’aînesse.
32 Ésaü répondit: Voici, je m’en vais mourir; à quoi me sert ce droit d’aînesse?
33 Et Jacob dit: Jure-le moi d’abord. Il le lui jura, et il vendit son droit d’aînesse à Jacob.
34 Alors Jacob donna à Ésaü du pain et du potage de lentilles. Il mangea et but, puis se leva et s’en alla. C’est ainsi qu’Ésaü méprisa le droit d’aînesse.

Genesis 25

1 Then again Abraham took a wife, and her name was Keturah.
2 And she bare him Zimran, and Jokshan, and Medan, and Midian, and Ishbak, and Shuah.
3 And Jokshan begat Sheba, and Dedan. And the sons of Dedan were Asshurim, and Letushim, and Leummim.
4 And the sons of Midian; Ephah, and Epher, and Hanoch, and Abidah, and Eldaah. All these were the children of Keturah.
5 And Abraham gave all that he had unto Isaac.
6 But unto the sons of the concubines, which Abraham had, Abraham gave gifts, and sent them away from Isaac his son, while he yet lived, eastward, unto the east country.
7 And these are the days of the years of Abraham’s life which he lived, an hundred threescore and fifteen years.
8 Then Abraham gave up the ghost, and died in a good old age, an old man, and full of years; and was gathered to his people.
9 And his sons Isaac and Ishmael buried him in the cave of Machpelah, in the field of Ephron the son of Zohar the Hittite, which is before Mamre;
10 The field which Abraham purchased of the sons of Heth: there was Abraham buried, and Sarah his wife.
11 And it came to pass after the death of Abraham, that God blessed his son Isaac; and Isaac dwelt by the well Lahairoi.
12 Now these are the generations of Ishmael, Abraham’s son, whom Hagar the Egyptian, Sarah’s handmaid, bare unto Abraham:
13 And these are the names of the sons of Ishmael, by their names, according to their generations: the firstborn of Ishmael, Nebajoth; and Kedar, and Adbeel, and Mibsam,
14 And Mishma, and Dumah, and Massa,
15 Hadar, and Tema, Jetur, Naphish, and Kedemah:
16 These are the sons of Ishmael, and these are their names, by their towns, and by their castles; twelve princes according to their nations.
17 And these are the years of the life of Ishmael, an hundred and thirty and seven years: and he gave up the ghost and died; and was gathered unto his people.
18 And they dwelt from Havilah unto Shur, that is before Egypt, as thou goest toward Assyria: and he died in the presence of all his brethren.
19 And these are the generations of Isaac, Abraham’s son: Abraham begat Isaac:
20 And Isaac was forty years old when he took Rebekah to wife, the daughter of Bethuel the Syrian of Padanaram, the sister to Laban the Syrian.
21 And Isaac intreated the Lord for his wife, because she was barren: and the Lord was intreated of him, and Rebekah his wife conceived.
22 And the children struggled together within her; and she said, If it be so, why am I thus? And she went to enquire of the Lord.
23 And the Lord said unto her, Two nations are in thy womb, and two manner of people shall be separated from thy bowels; and the one people shall be stronger than the other people; and the elder shall serve the younger.
24 And when her days to be delivered were fulfilled, behold, there were twins in her womb.
25 And the first came out red, all over like an hairy garment; and they called his name Esau.
26 And after that came his brother out, and his hand took hold on Esau’s heel; and his name was called Jacob: and Isaac was threescore years old when she bare them.
27 And the boys grew: and Esau was a cunning hunter, a man of the field; and Jacob was a plain man, dwelling in tents.
28 And Isaac loved Esau, because he did eat of his venison: but Rebekah loved Jacob.
29 And Jacob sod pottage: and Esau came from the field, and he was faint:
30 And Esau said to Jacob, Feed me, I pray thee, with that same red pottage; for I am faint: therefore was his name called Edom.
31 And Jacob said, Sell me this day thy birthright.
32 And Esau said, Behold, I am at the point to die: and what profit shall this birthright do to me?
33 And Jacob said, Swear to me this day; and he sware unto him: and he sold his birthright unto Jacob.
34 Then Jacob gave Esau bread and pottage of lentiles; and he did eat and drink, and rose up, and went his way: thus Esau despised his birthright.
