2 Samyèl 7
1 Wa David te byen chita nan palè li. Seyè a te pwoteje l’, li te fè tout lènmi ki te alantou peyi a pa chache l’ kont ankò.
2 Wa a pale ak pwofèt Natan, li di l’ konsa: -Gade! Mwen rete nan yon kay bati ak bwa sèd, men Bwat Kontra Seyè a se anba yon kay twal li ye.
3 Natan reponn li: -Tou sa ou gen lide fè, ou mèt fè l’, paske Seyè a kanpe la avè ou.
4 Men, menm jou lannwit sa a, Seyè a pale ak Natan, li di l’ konsa:
5 -Ale di David, sèvitè m’ lan, men sa mwen menm Seyè a, mwen voye di l’: Se pa ou menm ki pral bati yon tanp pou m’ rete.
6 Depi jou mwen te fè moun pèp Izrayèl yo soti kite peyi Lejip rive jòdi a, mwen pa janm rete nan yon kay. Tout kote m’ pase se anba yon tant twal mwen toujou ye.
7 Nan tout deplase mwen ansanm ak moun Izrayèl yo, mwen pa janm mande yonn nan chèf mwen te chwazi pou gouvènen pèp mwen an poukisa yo pa bati yon kay an bwa sèd pou mwen.
8 Koulye a, men sa w’a di David, sèvitè m’ lan: Men sa Seyè ki gen tout pouvwa a voye di ou: Se mwen menm ki te pran ou dèyè mouton ou t’ap gade nan savann yo, mwen mete ou chèf pèp mwen an.
9 Nan tou sa ou t’ap fè, mwen te kanpe la avè ou. Mwen kraze tout lènmi ou yo devan ou. Mwen pral fè yo nonmen non ou tankou y’ap nonmen non pi gwo chèf ki sou latè.
10 Lèfini, mwen pare yon kote pou pèp Izrayèl mwen an. Mwen pral tabli yo la pou yo ka viv san yo pa bezwen pè anyen ankò. Mechan yo p’ap vin maltrete yo ankò jan yo te konn fè l’ anvan an,
11 lè mwen te mete jij yo pou gouvènen pèp Izrayèl mwen an. M’ap delivre ou anba men tout lènmi ou yo. Mwen te fè ou konnen m’ap ba ou pitit ak pitit pitit.
12 Lè lè a va rive pou ou mouri, lè y’a antere ou, m’ap pran yonn nan pitit ou yo, m’ap mete l’ wa nan plas ou. M’ap fè gouvènman l’ lan kanpe fèm.
13 Se li menm ki va bati yon tanp pou mwen. M’ap fè gouvènman l’ lan kanpe fèm pou tout tan.
14 M’ap yon papa pou li. Li menm l’ap yon pitit pou mwen. Si li fè sa ki mal, m’ap korije l’ tankou yon papa korije pitit gason li.
15 Men, m’ap toujou soutni l’, mwen p’ap lage l’ jan mwen te lage Sayil lè mwen te kite l’ tonbe pou m’ te mete ou nan plas li.
16 Ap toujou gen moun nan fanmi ou chita sou fotèy la ap gouvènen apre ou, paske m’ap fè gouvènman fanmi ou lan kanpe fèm pou tout tan.
17 Natan rakonte David tou sa Bondye te fè l’ konnen nan vizyon an.
18 Apre sa, wa David ale nan tanp lan, li chita devan Seyè a, li di l’ konsa: -Seyè, Bondye sèl Mèt la, kisa mwen ye, kisa fanmi mwen ye pou ou te fè tou sa ou deja fè pou nou?
19 Men ou wè sa pa kont toujou, Seyè, Bondye sèl Mèt la, kifè koulye a w’ap fè konnen sa ki pral rive fanmi mwen denmen nan lanne k’ap vini yo. Epi ou fè m’ konn sa, mwen menm ki yon senp moun, Seyè, Bondye sèl Mèt la!
20 Kisa mwen menm David, mwen ka di ou, Seyè, apre sa? Ou konnen ki moun mwen ye, mwen menm k’ap sèvi ou la.
21 Se paske ou te fè pwomès la, se paske ou te vle l’ konsa, kifè ou te fè tout bèl bagay sa yo pou ou te fè m’ konnen yo.
22 Seyè, Bondye mwen, ala gwo pouvwa ou la gwo! Pa gen tankou ou! Pa gen lòt Bondye pase ou menm! Yo te toujou di nou sa.
23 Pa gen lòt nasyon sou latè tankou pèp Izrayèl la! Se ou menm ki delivre yo pou yo te ka tounen yon pèp ki rele ou pa ou. Se pou yo ase ou fè sa. Toupatou sou latè, y’ap nonmen non ou yo pou gwo mirak ak bèl bagay ou fè pou yo. Ou mete lòt nasyon deyò nan peyi ou la ansanm ak bondye yo pou fè plas pou pèp ou, pèp ou te delivre anba pouvwa pèp peyi Lejip la, pou yo te ka tounen pèp pa ou.
24 Ou fè pèp Izrayèl la tounen pèp pa ou pou tout tan, ou menm ou tounen Bondye yo.
25 Koulye a, Seyè, Bondye, se pou ou kenbe pwomès ou te fè sèvitè ou la ansanm ak fanmi li an. Se pou ou fè sa ou di w’ap fè a.
26 Toupatou sou latè y’a toujou rekonnèt jan ou gen pouvwa. y’a di se Seyè ki gen tout pouvwa a ki Bondye pèp Izrayèl la. Konsa, gouvènman ki nan men fanmi David, sèvitè ou la, va kanpe fèm pou tout tan anba pwoteksyon ou.
27 Seyè ki gen tout pouvwa a, Bondye pèp Izrayèl la, se ou menm ki te fè m’ konnen tou sa. Ou te di m’, mwen menm sèvitè ou la, w’ap ban mwen yon fanmi, lèfini w’ap fè baton gouvènman an toujou rete nan men fanmi mwen. Se poutèt sa mwen gen kouraj fè lapriyè sa a nan pye ou.
28 Koulye a, Seyè sèl Mèt, se ou ki Bondye tout bon an. Ou toujou kenbe pwomès ou yo. Gade bèl pawòl kè kontan ou di sèvitè ou la!
29 Tanpri, beni tout fanmi mwen apre mwen pou yo ka toujou anba pwoteksyon ou. Wi, Seyè sèl Mèt, ou te pwomèt mwen sa. Se pou ou toujou voye benediksyon ou sou fanmi mwen.

1 Lorsque le roi habita dans sa maison, et que l’Éternel lui eut donné du repos, après l’avoir délivré de tous les ennemis qui l’entouraient,
2 il dit à Nathan le prophète: Vois donc! j’habite dans une maison de cèdre, et l’arche de Dieu habite au milieu d’une tente.
3 Nathan répondit au roi: Va, fais tout ce que tu as dans le coeur, car l’Éternel est avec toi.
4 La nuit suivante, la parole de l’Éternel fut adressée à Nathan:
5 Va dire à mon serviteur David: Ainsi parle l’Éternel: Est-ce toi qui me bâtirais une maison pour que j’en fasse ma demeure?
6 Mais je n’ai point habité dans une maison depuis le jour où j’ai fait monter les enfants d’Israël hors d’Égypte jusqu’à ce jour; j’ai voyagé sous une tente et dans un tabernacle.
7 Partout où j’ai marché avec tous les enfants d’Israël, ai-je dit un mot à quelqu’une des tribus d’Israël à qui j’avais ordonné de paître mon peuple d’Israël, ai-je dit: Pourquoi ne me bâtissez-vous pas une maison de cèdre?
8 Maintenant tu diras à mon serviteur David: Ainsi parle l’Éternel des armées: Je t’ai pris au pâturage, derrière les brebis, pour que tu fusses chef sur mon peuple, sur Israël;
9 j’ai été avec toi partout où tu as marché, j’ai exterminé tous tes ennemis devant toi, et j’ai rendu ton nom grand comme le nom des grands qui sont sur la terre;
10 j’ai donné une demeure à mon peuple, à Israël, et je l’ai planté pour qu’il y soit fixé et ne soit plus agité, pour que les méchants ne l’oppriment plus comme auparavant
11 et comme à l’époque où j’avais établi des juges sur mon peuple d’Israël. Je t’ai accordé du repos en te délivrant de tous tes ennemis. Et l’Éternel t’annonce qu’il te créera une maison.
12 Quand tes jours seront accomplis et que tu seras couché avec tes pères, j’élèverai ta postérité après toi, celui qui sera sorti de tes entrailles, et j’affermirai son règne.
13 Ce sera lui qui bâtira une maison à mon nom, et j’affermirai pour toujours le trône de son royaume.
14 Je serai pour lui un père, et il sera pour moi un fils. S’il fait le mal, je le châtierai avec la verge des hommes et avec les coups des enfants des hommes;
15 mais ma grâce ne se retirera point de lui, comme je l’ai retirée de Saül, que j’ai rejeté devant toi.
16 Ta maison et ton règne seront pour toujours assurés, ton trône sera pour toujours affermi.
17 Nathan rapporta à David toutes ces paroles et toute cette vision.
18 Et le roi David alla se présenter devant l’Éternel, et dit: Qui suis-je, Seigneur Éternel, et quelle est ma maison, pour que tu m’aies fait parvenir où je suis?
19 C’est encore peu de chose à tes yeux, Seigneur Éternel; tu parles aussi de la maison de ton serviteur pour les temps à venir. Et tu daignes instruire un homme de ces choses, Seigneur Éternel!
20 Que pourrait te dire de plus David? Tu connais ton serviteur, Seigneur Éternel!
21 A cause de ta parole, et selon ton coeur, tu as fait toutes ces grandes choses pour les révéler à ton serviteur.
22 Que tu es donc grand, Éternel Dieu! car nul n’est semblable à toi, et il n’y a point d’autre Dieu que toi, d’après tout ce que nous avons entendu de nos oreilles.
23 Est-il sur la terre une seule nation qui soit comme ton peuple, comme Israël, que Dieu est venu racheter pour en former son peuple, pour se faire un nom et pour accomplir en sa faveur, en faveur de ton pays, des miracles et des prodiges, en chassant devant ton peuple, que tu as racheté d’Égypte, des nations et leurs dieux?
24 Tu as affermi ton peuple d’Israël, pour qu’il fût ton peuple à toujours; et toi, Éternel, tu es devenu son Dieu.
25 Maintenant, Éternel Dieu, fais subsister jusque dans l’éternité la parole que tu as prononcée sur ton serviteur et sur sa maison, et agis selon ta parole.
26 Que ton nom soit à jamais glorifié, et que l’on dise: L’Éternel des armées est le Dieu d’Israël! Et que la maison de ton serviteur David soit affermie devant toi!
27 Car toi-même, Éternel des armées, Dieu d’Israël, tu t’es révélé à ton serviteur, en disant: Je te fonderai une maison! C’est pourquoi ton serviteur a pris courage pour t’adresser cette prière.
28 Maintenant, Seigneur Éternel, tu es Dieu, et tes paroles sont vérité, et tu as annoncé cette grâce à ton serviteur.
29 Veuille donc bénir la maison de ton serviteur, afin qu’elle subsiste à toujours devant toi! Car c’est toi, Seigneur Éternel, qui a parlé, et par ta bénédiction la maison de ton serviteur sera bénie éternellement.

1 And it came to pass, when the king sat in his house, and the Lord had given him rest round about from all his enemies;
2 That the king said unto Nathan the prophet, See now, I dwell in an house of cedar, but the ark of God dwelleth within curtains.
3 And Nathan said to the king, Go, do all that is in thine heart; for the Lord is with thee.
4 And it came to pass that night, that the word of the Lord came unto Nathan, saying,
5 Go and tell my servant David, Thus saith the Lord, Shalt thou build me an house for me to dwell in?
6 Whereas I have not dwelt in any house since the time that I brought up the children of Israel out of Egypt, even to this day, but have walked in a tent and in a tabernacle.
7 In all the places wherein I have walked with all the children of Israel spake I a word with any of the tribes of Israel, whom I commanded to feed my people Israel, saying, Why build ye not me an house of cedar?
8 Now therefore so shalt thou say unto my servant David, Thus saith the Lord of hosts, I took thee from the sheepcote, from following the sheep, to be ruler over my people, over Israel:
9 And I was with thee whithersoever thou wentest, and have cut off all thine enemies out of thy sight, and have made thee a great name, like unto the name of the great men that are in the earth.
10 Moreover I will appoint a place for my people Israel, and will plant them, that they may dwell in a place of their own, and move no more; neither shall the children of wickedness afflict them any more, as beforetime,
11 And as since the time that I commanded judges to be over my people Israel, and have caused thee to rest from all thine enemies. Also the Lord telleth thee that he will make thee an house.
12 And when thy days be fulfilled, and thou shalt sleep with thy fathers, I will set up thy seed after thee, which shall proceed out of thy bowels, and I will establish his kingdom.
13 He shall build an house for my name, and I will stablish the throne of his kingdom for ever.
14 I will be his father, and he shall be my son. If he commit iniquity, I will chasten him with the rod of men, and with the stripes of the children of men:
15 But my mercy shall not depart away from him, as I took it from Saul, whom I put away before thee.
16 And thine house and thy kingdom shall be established for ever before thee: thy throne shall be established for ever.
17 According to all these words, and according to all this vision, so did Nathan speak unto David.
18 Then went king David in, and sat before the Lord, and he said, Who am I, O Lord God? and what is my house, that thou hast brought me hitherto?
19 And this was yet a small thing in thy sight, O Lord God; but thou hast spoken also of thy servant’s house for a great while to come. And is this the manner of man, O Lord God?
20 And what can David say more unto thee? for thou, Lord God, knowest thy servant.
21 For thy word’s sake, and according to thine own heart, hast thou done all these great things, to make thy servant know them.
22 Wherefore thou art great, O Lord God: for there is none like thee, neither is there any God beside thee, according to all that we have heard with our ears.
23 And what one nation in the earth is like thy people, even like Israel, whom God went to redeem for a people to himself, and to make him a name, and to do for you great things and terrible, for thy land, before thy people, which thou redeemedst to thee from Egypt, from the nations and their gods?
24 For thou hast confirmed to thyself thy people Israel to be a people unto thee for ever: and thou, Lord, art become their God.
25 And now, O Lord God, the word that thou hast spoken concerning thy servant, and concerning his house, establish it for ever, and do as thou hast said.
26 And let thy name be magnified for ever, saying, The Lord of hosts is the God over Israel: and let the house of thy servant David be established before thee.
27 For thou, O Lord of hosts, God of Israel, hast revealed to thy servant, saying, I will build thee an house: therefore hath thy servant found in his heart to pray this prayer unto thee.
28 And now, O Lord God, thou art that God, and thy words be true, and thou hast promised this goodness unto thy servant:
29 Therefore now let it please thee to bless the house of thy servant, that it may continue for ever before thee: for thou, O Lord God, hast spoken it: and with thy blessing let the house of thy servant be blessed for ever.
