1 David fè yo bati anpil kay pou li nan lavil David la. Li pare yon anplasman pou Bwat Kontra Bondye a, li moute yon gwo tant twal pou li.
2 Epi li di: -Se moun Levi yo ase ki pou pote Bwat Kontra Bondye a, paske se yo menm Seyè a te chwazi pou pote Bwat la, se yo li te chwazi pou sèvi l’ pou tout tan.
3 Lèfini, li reyini tout pèp Izrayèl la lavil Jerizalèm pou yo pote Bwat Kontra a kote li te pare pou li a.
4 Apre sa, li voye chache tout moun nan ras fanmi Arawon yo ansanm ak moun Levi yo.
5 Nan branch fanmi Keyat la, te gen Ouryèl, chèf la, ak tout fanmi l’ yo. Sa te fè antou sanven (120).
6 Nan branch fanmi Merari a, te gen Asaja, chèf la, ak tout fanmi l’ yo. Sa te fè antou desanven (220).
7 Nan branch fanmi Gèchon an, te gen Joèl, chèf la, ak tout fanmi l’ yo. Sa te fè antou santrant (130).
8 Nan branch fanmi Elizafan an, te gen Semaja, chèf la, ak tout fanmi l’ yo. Sa te fè antou desan (200).
9 Nan branch fanmi Ebwon an, te gen Eliyèl, chèf la, ak tout fanmi l’ yo. Sa te fè antou katreven.
10 Nan branch fanmi Ouzyèl la te gen Aminadad, chèf la, ak tout fanmi l’ yo. Sa te fè antou sandouz (112).
11 David rele Zadòk ak Abyata, prèt yo, ansanm ak sis moun Levi: Ouryèl, Asaja, Joèl, Chemaja, Eliyèl ak Aminadad.
12 Li di yo: -Se nou menm ki chèf branch fanmi Levi yo. Mete nou nan kondisyon pou fè sèvis pou Bondye, nou menm ansanm ak tout moun nan fanmi nou, pou nou ka al pote Bwat Kontra Seyè a, Bondye pèp Izrayèl la, kote mwen fè pare pou li a.
13 Premye fwa a, nou pa t’ la. Se poutèt sa Seyè a, Bondye nou an, te touye kèk nan nou paske nou pa t’ fè l’ jan nou te dwe fè l’ la.
14 Se konsa, prèt yo ak moun Levi yo al mete yo nan kondisyon pou fè sèvis Bondye, pou yo te ka al pote Bwat Kontra Seyè a, Bondye pèp Izrayèl la.
15 Yo mete Bwat la sou gwo travès long yo, yo leve l’ mete l’ sou zepòl yo, yo pote l’ ale jan Moyiz te ba yo lòd fè l’ la dapre pawòl Seyè a.
16 David bay chèf moun Levi yo lòd pou yo chwazi divès moun nan fanmi yo ki konn chante, pou yo vini ak enstriman mizik yo, gita, bandjo ak senbal, pou jwe mizik cho paske kè tout moun te kontan.
17 Moun Levi yo chwazi Eyman, pitit gason Joèl la, ansanm ak Asaf, pitit gason Berekya, yon fanmi Eyman, ak Etan, pitit gason Kouchaja nan branch fanmi Merari a, fanmi ak de lòt premye yo.
18 Apre sa, yo chwazi lòt moun Levi nan menm fanmi ak premye yo, pou ede yo nan travay yo. Se te Zakari, Aziyèl, Semiramòt, Jekiyèl, Ouni, Eliyab, Benaja, Maseja, Matitya, Elifeleou, Mikneja, ak de gad pòtay tanp lan, Obèd-Edon ak Jeyèl.
19 Eyman, Asaf ak Etan, sanba yo, te reskonsab pou bat senbal kwiv yo pou fè mizik.
20 Zakari, Aziyèl, Semiramòt, Jekiyèl, Ouni, Eliyab, Maseja ak Benaja t’ap jwe premye gita yo.
21 Matitya, Elifeleou, Mikneja, Obèd-Edon, Jeyèl ak Azazya t’ap jwe gita bas. Se yo ki pou te bay kadans chante yo.
22 Se Kenanya, chèf moun Levi ki te reskonsab pote Bwat la, ki t’ap dirije yo, paske li te fò nan fè travay konsa.
23 Se Berekya ak Elkana ki t’ap pote Bwat Kontra a.
24 Men non prèt yo te chwazi pou kònen twonpèt devan Bwat Kontra a. Se te Chebanyas, Jozafa, Netaneyèl, Amasayi, Zakari, Benaja ak Elyezè. Obèd-Edon ak Jebija te la pou pote Bwat Kontra a tou.
25 Se konsa David ak tout chèf fanmi pèp Izrayèl yo ansanm ak tout chèf rejiman mil sòlda yo ale lakay Obèd-Edon, yo pran Bwat Kontra a pou yo pote l’ lavil Jerizalèm ak kè kontan.
26 Yo touye sèt towo ak sèt belye pou Bondye te ka ede moun Levi ki t’ap pote Bwat Kontra a.
27 David te gen yon rad fèt ak twal fin blan sou li, menm jan ak tout moun Levi yo ki t’ap mache devan Bwat Kontra a, sanba yo ak Kenaja ki t’ap dirije travay transpò a. David te gen yon moso twal fin blan tou mare nan ren li.
28 Se konsa, tout pèp Izrayèl la ale ansanm ak Bwat Kontra Seyè a, yo pote l’ lavil Jerizalèm. Yo t’ap rele, yo t’ap fè fèt. Yo t’ap jwe klewon, twonpèt, senbal, gita ak bandjo sou tout wout la.
29 Antan yo t’ap antre ak Bwat Kontra a lavil Jerizalèm, Mikal, pitit fi Sayil la, te kanpe bò yon fennèt ap gade. Li wè David ki t’ap danse fè laviwonn devan Bwat la. Li vin pa gen yon san pou li ankò.

1 David se bâtit des maisons dans la cité de David; il prépara une place à l’arche de Dieu, et dressa pour elle une tente.
2 Alors David dit: L’arche de Dieu ne doit être portée que par les Lévites, car l’Éternel les a choisis pour porter l’arche de Dieu et pour en faire le service à toujours.
3 Et David assembla tout Israël à Jérusalem pour faire monter l’arche de l’Éternel à la place qu’il lui avait préparée.
4 David assembla les fils d’Aaron et les Lévites:
5 des fils de Kehath, Uriel le chef et ses frères, cent vingt;
6 des fils de Merari, Asaja le chef et ses frères, deux cent vingt;
7 des fils de Guerschom, Joël le chef et ses frères, cent trente;
8 des fils d’Élitsaphan, Schemaeja le chef et ses frères, deux cents;
9 des fils d’Hébron, Éliel le chef et ses frères, quatre-vingts;
10 des fils d’Uziel, Amminadab le chef et ses frères, cent douze.
11 David appela les sacrificateurs Tsadok et Abiathar, et les Lévites Uriel, Asaja, Joël, Schemaeja, Éliel et Amminadab.
12 Il leur dit: Vous êtes les chefs de famille des Lévites; sanctifiez-vous, vous et vos frères, et faites monter à la place que je lui ai préparée l’arche de l’Éternel, du Dieu d’Israël.
13 Parce que vous n’y étiez pas la première fois, l’Éternel, notre Dieu, nous a frappés; car nous ne l’avons pas cherché selon la loi.
14 Les sacrificateurs et les Lévites se sanctifièrent pour faire monter l’arche de l’Éternel, du Dieu d’Israël.
15 Les fils des Lévites portèrent l’arche de Dieu sur leurs épaules avec des barres, comme Moïse l’avait ordonné d’après la parole de l’Éternel.
16 Et David dit aux chefs des Lévites de disposer leurs frères les chantres avec des instruments de musique, des luths, des harpes et des cymbales, qu’ils devaient faire retentir de sons éclatants en signe de réjouissance.
17 Les Lévites disposèrent Héman, fils de Joël; parmi ses frères, Asaph, fils de Bérékia; et parmi les fils de Merari, leurs frères, Éthan, fils de Kuschaja;
18 puis avec eux leurs frères du second ordre Zacharie, Ben, Jaaziel, Schemiramoth, Jehiel, Unni, Éliab, Benaja, Maaséja, Matthithia, Éliphelé et Miknéja, et Obed Édom et Jeïel, les portiers.
19 Les chantres Héman, Asaph et Éthan avaient des cymbales d’airain, pour les faire retentir.
20 Zacharie, Aziel, Schemiramoth, Jehiel, Unni, Éliab, Maaséja et Benaja avaient des luths sur alamoth;
21 et Matthithia, Éliphelé, Miknéja, Obed Édom, Jeïel et Azazia, avaient des harpes à huit cordes, pour conduire le chant.
22 Kenania, chef de musique parmi les Lévites, dirigeait la musique, car il était habile.
23 Bérékia et Elkana étaient portiers de l’arche.
24 Schebania, Josaphat, Nethaneel, Amasaï, Zacharie, Benaja et Éliézer, les sacrificateurs, sonnaient des trompettes devant l’arche de Dieu. Obed Édom et Jechija étaient portiers de l’arche.
25 David, les anciens d’Israël, et les chefs de milliers se mirent en route pour faire monter l’arche de l’alliance de l’Éternel depuis la maison d’Obed Édom, au milieu des réjouissances.
26 Ce fut avec l’assistance de Dieu que les Lévites portèrent l’arche de l’alliance de l’Éternel; et l’on sacrifia sept taureaux et sept béliers.
27 David était revêtu d’un manteau de byssus; il en était de même de tous les Lévites qui portaient l’arche, des chantres, et de Kenania, chef de musique parmi les chantres; et David avait sur lui un éphod de lin.
28 Tout Israël fit monter l’arche de l’alliance de l’Éternel avec des cris de joie, au son des clairons, des trompettes et des cymbales, et en faisant retentir les luths et les harpes.
29 Comme l’arche de l’alliance de l’Éternel entrait dans la cité de David, Mical, fille de Saül, regardait par la fenêtre, et voyant le roi David sauter et danser, elle le méprisa dans son coeur.

1 And David made him houses in the city of David, and prepared a place for the ark of God, and pitched for it a tent.
2 Then David said, None ought to carry the ark of God but the Levites: for them hath the Lord chosen to carry the ark of God, and to minister unto him for ever.
3 And David gathered all Israel together to Jerusalem, to bring up the ark of the Lord unto his place, which he had prepared for it.
4 And David assembled the children of Aaron, and the Levites:
5 Of the sons of Kohath; Uriel the chief, and his brethren an hundred and twenty:
6 Of the sons of Merari; Asaiah the chief, and his brethren two hundred and twenty:
7 Of the sons of Gershom; Joel the chief and his brethren an hundred and thirty:
8 Of the sons of Elizaphan; Shemaiah the chief, and his brethren two hundred:
9 Of the sons of Hebron; Eliel the chief, and his brethren fourscore:
10 Of the sons of Uzziel; Amminadab the chief, and his brethren an hundred and twelve.
11 And David called for Zadok and Abiathar the priests, and for the Levites, for Uriel, Asaiah, and Joel, Shemaiah, and Eliel, and Amminadab,
12 And said unto them, Ye are the chief of the fathers of the Levites: sanctify yourselves, both ye and your brethren, that ye may bring up the ark of the Lord God of Israel unto the place that I have prepared for it.
13 For because ye did it not at the first, the Lord our God made a breach upon us, for that we sought him not after the due order.
14 So the priests and the Levites sanctified themselves to bring up the ark of the Lord God of Israel.
15 And the children of the Levites bare the ark of God upon their shoulders with the staves thereon, as Moses commanded according to the word of the Lord.
16 And David spake to the chief of the Levites to appoint their brethren to be the singers with instruments of musick, psalteries and harps and cymbals, sounding, by lifting up the voice with joy.
17 So the Levites appointed Heman the son of Joel; and of his brethren, Asaph the son of Berechiah; and of the sons of Merari their brethren, Ethan the son of Kushaiah;
18 And with them their brethren of the second degree, Zechariah, Ben, and Jaaziel, and Shemiramoth, and Jehiel, and Unni, Eliab, and Benaiah, and Maaseiah, and Mattithiah, and Elipheleh, and Mikneiah, and Obededom, and Jeiel, the porters.
19 So the singers, Heman, Asaph, and Ethan, were appointed to sound with cymbals of brass;
20 And Zechariah, and Aziel, and Shemiramoth, and Jehiel, and Unni, and Eliab, and Maaseiah, and Benaiah, with psalteries on Alamoth;
21 And Mattithiah, and Elipheleh, and Mikneiah, and Obededom, and Jeiel, and Azaziah, with harps on the Sheminith to excel.
22 And Chenaniah, chief of the Levites, was for song: he instructed about the song, because he was skilful.
23 And Berechiah and Elkanah were doorkeepers for the ark.
24 And Shebaniah, and Jehoshaphat, and Nethaneel, and Amasai, and Zechariah, and Benaiah, and Eliezer, the priests, did blow with the trumpets before the ark of God: and Obededom and Jehiah were doorkeepers for the ark.
25 So David, and the elders of Israel, and the captains over thousands, went to bring up the ark of the covenant of the Lord out of the house of Obededom with joy.
26 And it came to pass, when God helped the Levites that bare the ark of the covenant of the Lord, that they offered seven bullocks and seven rams.
27 And David was clothed with a robe of fine linen, and all the Levites that bare the ark, and the singers, and Chenaniah the master of the song with the singers: David also had upon him an ephod of linen.
28 Thus all Israel brought up the ark of the covenant of the Lord with shouting, and with sound of the cornet, and with trumpets, and with cymbals, making a noise with psalteries and harps.
29 And it came to pass, as the ark of the covenant of the Lord came to the city of David, that Michal, the daughter of Saul looking out at a window saw king David dancing and playing: and she despised him in her heart.
