2 Li fè sa ki mal nan je Seyè a, men tansèlman pa tankou lòt wa ki te gouvènen peyi Izrayèl la anvan l’ yo.
3 Salmanaza, wa peyi Lasiri a, atake Oze. Oze soumèt devan l’. Li peye l’ yon lajan chak lanne.
4 Men, Salmanaza vin dekouvri Oze t’ap moute konplo sou do l’. Oze te voye mesaje bò kot So, wa peyi Lejip, pou mande l’ konkou. Lèfini, li te sispann voye lajan li te gen pou l’ peye wa peyi Lasiri a chak lanne. Se konsa Salmanaza fè arete Oze, mete l’ nan prizon ak chenn nan pye l’.

6 Oze te gen nevan depi li te wa lè wa Lasiri a pran lavil Samari. Salmanaza fè tout pèp Izrayèl la prizonye, li depòte yo nan peyi Lasiri. Li mete yon pati ladan yo lavil Ala, toupre larivyè Abò nan zòn Gozan, yon pati nan lavil peyi Medi yo.
7 Sa te rive konsa paske moun peyi Izrayèl yo te fè peche kont Seyè a, Bondye yo a, ki te fè yo soti kite peyi Lejip, ki te delivre yo anba men farawon an, wa peyi Lejip la. Yo t’ap sèvi lòt bondye.
8 Yo t’ap swiv mès moun lòt nasyon Seyè a te mete deyò nan peyi a pou fè plas pou yo. Yo t’ap mache dapre lòt vye prensip wa Izrayèl yo te ba yo.
9 Lèfini, moun peyi Izrayèl yo te fè yon bann bagay yo pa t’ dwe fè devan Seyè a. Yo bati tanp pou zidòl nan tout lavil yo, depi nan ti bouk kote ki gen avanpòs pou faksyonnè rive nan gwo lavil ak ranpa yo.
10 Sou tout mòn, anba tout gwo pyebwa, yo kanpe gwo wòch ak estati pou Achera, zidòl fanm lan.
11 Yo boule lansan sou tout lotèl zidòl yo tankou moun Seyè a te mete deyò nan peyi a te konn fè. Yo fè yon bann bagay derespektan ki lakòz Seyè a te fache anpil.
12 Yo adore zidòl, bagay Seyè a te ba yo lòd pa fè.
13 Seyè a te voye mesaje ak pwofèt li yo avèti moun peyi Izrayèl yo ansanm ak moun peyi Jida yo. Li te byen di yo: Manyè kite move chemen n’ap swiv la! Fè sa m’ mande nou fè. Kenbe lòd mwen yo jan sa ye nan lalwa mwen te bay zansèt nou yo, lalwa mwen te fè pwofèt yo, sèvitè m’ yo, moutre nou an.
14 Men, yo pa koute l’, yo fè tèt di tankou zansèt yo ki pa t’ mete konfyans yo nan Seyè a, Bondye yo a.
15 Yo derefize kenbe lòd li yo, yo pa respekte kontra li te pase ak zansèt yo. Yo pa okipe avètisman li te ba yo, yo pran sèvi zidòl ki pa vo anyen. Yo menm, yo pèdi valè yo. Yo pran fè tankou lòt nasyon k’ap viv bò kote yo t’ap fè, yo dezobeyi lòd Seyè a ki te di yo pa fè sa.
16 Yo lage tout kòmandman Seyè a, Bondye yo a, te ba yo. Yo fè de estati towo an kwiv pou yo sèvi ak yon pòtre Achera, zidòl fanm lan, yo sèvi zetwal nan syèl la ansanm ak Baal.
17 Yo bay pitit fi ak pitit gason yo pou boule pou bondye lòt nasyon yo, y’ al dèyè divinò ak chòche. Yo vann tèt yo, yo lage kò yo nan fè sa ki mal nan je Seyè a, pou yo te ka fè l’ move jouk li pa kapab ankò.
18 Se konsa Seyè a fè yon sèl move sou pèp Izrayèl la, li wete yo devan je l’. Pa rete pase branch fanmi Jida a.
19 Men, ata moun peyi Jida yo tou pa t’ kenbe lòd Seyè a, Bondye yo a. Yo t’ap fè tankou moun peyi Izrayèl yo. Yo t’ap fè tout vye bagay moun peyi Izrayèl yo te ranmase.
20 Se poutèt sa Seyè a vire do bay dènye moun nan ras Izrayèl la. Li fè yo wont, li lage yo nan men yon bann piyajè, jouk li wete yo devan je l’.
21 Li separe pèp la, li mete moun peyi Izrayèl yo yon bò, moun fanmi David yo yon bò. Moun peyi Izrayèl yo pran Jewoboram, pitit Nebat, yo mete l’ wa pou gouvènen yo. Jewoboram lakòz yo kite chimen Seyè a nèt. Li fè yo fè pi gwo peche toujou.
22 Moun peyi Izrayèl yo pran fè tankou Jewoboram, yo donnen ladan l’ san rete.
23 Bout pou bout, Seyè a wete yo nèt devan je l’, jan li te voye sèvitè l’ yo, pwofèt yo avèti yo a. Se konsa yo depòte moun peyi Izrayèl yo byen lwen nan peyi Lasiri kote yo ye jouk jounen jòdi a.
24 Wa peyi Lasiri a pran moun lavil Babilòn, moun lavil Kout, moun lavil Ava, moun lavil Ama ak moun lavil Sefavayim, li voye yo al rete nan lavil peyi Samari nan plas moun Izrayèl li te fè depòte yo. Moun yo pran peyi Samari a pou yo, y’ al rete nan tout lavil yo.
25 Moun sa yo pa t’ nan sèvi Seyè a. Konsa, lè yo fèk vin tabli nan peyi a, Seyè a voye lyon ki touye kèk ladan yo.
26 Yo voye di wa peyi Lasiri a: Moun ou te voye vin rete lavil peyi Samari yo pa konnen jan pou yo sèvi Bondye peyi a. Se konsa bondye peyi a voye lyon k’ap fini ak yo.
27 Lè sa a, wa peyi Lasiri a bay lòd sa a: Pran yonn nan prèt nou te fè prizonye yo, voye l’ tounen al viv laba a pou l’ ka moutre moun yo jan pou yo sèvi bondye peyi a.
28 Se konsa yonn nan prèt yo te depòte yo tounen nan peyi Samari, l’ al rete lavil Betèl, li moutre yo jan pou yo fè sèvis pou Seyè a.
29 Men, chak nasyon te fè bondye pa yo nan lavil kote yo te rete a, yo mete yo nan tanp ansyen moun peyi Izrayèl yo te bati pou zidòl yo.
30 Moun lavil Babilòn yo te fè pòtre Soukòt Benòt. Moun lavil Kout yo te fè pòtre Negal. Moun lavil Amat yo te fè pòtre Asima.
31 Moun lavil Ava yo te fè pòtre Nibaz ak Tatak. Moun lavil Sefavayim yo ofri pitit yo pou boule pou Adramelèk ak Anamelèk, bondye pa yo.
32 Kifè yo t’ap sèvi Seyè a, men an menm tan yo chwazi moun nan mitan yo pou sèvi prèt zidòl yo, pou fè sèvis pou yo nan tanp zidòl yo.
33 Se konsa yo t’ap adore Seyè a men yo t’ap adore bondye pa yo tou, dapre koutim peyi kote yo te soti.
34 Jouk jounen jòdi a y’ap fè sa yo te konn fè a. Men, yo pa adore Seyè a, yo pa fè sa li mande nan lalwa ak kòmandman li te bay moun fanmi Jakòb yo swiv. Se Jakòb sa a Bondye sèl Mèt la te bay yon lòt non, li te rele l’ Izrayèl.
35 Seyè a te pase yon kontra ak pitit Jakòb yo, li te ba yo lòd sa a: Pa sèvi lòt bondye, pa mete jenou atè devan yo. Pa fè sèvis pou yo, pa ofri ankenn bèt pou touye pou yo.
36 Se mwen menm Seyè a pou nou sèvi, mwen menm Bondye nou an ki te fè nou soti kite peyi Lejip ak gwo kouraj mwen, ak fòs ponyèt mwen. Se mwen menm sèlman pou nou sèvi, pou nou adore. Se pou mwen ase pou nou ofri bèt pou touye.
37 Se pou nou toujou kenbe prensip ak regleman, lòd ak kòmandman mwen te ekri ban nou pou nou te ka swiv yo chak jou. Piga nou gen krentif pou bondye lòt nasyon yo.
38 Piga nou bliye kontra mwen te pase ak nou an. Piga nou gen krentif pou bondye lòt nasyon yo.
39 Se mwen menm ase, Seyè a, Bondye nou an, pou nou sèvi, m’a delivre nou anba men lènmi nou yo.
40 Men, moun yo pa koute m’, yo toujou ap fè sa yo te konn fè anvan an.
41 Konsa moun nasyon sa yo t’ap sèvi Seyè a, men yo te toujou ap sèvi zidòl pa yo tou. Pitit yo ak pitit pitit yo ap fè tankou papa yo jouk jounen jòdi a.

1 La douzième année d’Achaz, roi de Juda, Osée, fils d’Éla, régna sur Israël à Samarie. Il régna neuf ans.
2 Il fit ce qui est mal aux yeux de l’Éternel, non pas toutefois comme les rois d’Israël qui avaient été avant lui.
3 Salmanasar, roi d’Assyrie, monta contre lui; et Osée lui fut assujetti, et lui paya un tribut.
4 Mais le roi d’Assyrie découvrit une conspiration chez Osée, qui avait envoyé des messagers à So, roi d’Égypte, et qui ne payait plus annuellement le tribut au roi d’Assyrie. Le roi d’Assyrie le fit enfermer et enchaîner dans une prison.
5 Et le roi d’Assyrie parcourut tout le pays, et monta contre Samarie, qu’il assiégea pendant trois ans.
6 La neuvième année d’Osée, le roi d’Assyrie prit Samarie, et emmena Israël captif en Assyrie. Il les fit habiter à Chalach, et sur le Chabor, fleuve de Gozan, et dans les villes des Mèdes.
7 Cela arriva parce que les enfants d’Israël péchèrent contre l’Éternel, leur Dieu, qui les avait fait monter du pays d’Égypte, de dessous la main de Pharaon, roi d’Égypte, et parce qu’ils craignirent d’autres dieux.
8 Ils suivirent les coutumes des nations que l’Éternel avait chassés devant les enfants d’Israël, et celles que les rois d’Israël avaient établies.
9 Les enfants d’Israël firent en secret contre l’Éternel, leur Dieu, des choses qui ne sont pas bien. Ils se bâtirent des hauts lieux dans toutes leurs villes, depuis les tours des gardes jusqu’aux villes fortes.
10 Ils se dressèrent des statues et des idoles sur toute colline élevée et sous tout arbre vert.
11 Et là ils brûlèrent des parfums sur tous les hauts lieux, comme les nations que l’Éternel avait chassées devant eux, et ils firent des choses mauvaises, par lesquelles ils irritèrent l’Éternel.
12 Ils servirent les idoles dont l’Éternel leur avait dit: Vous ne ferez pas cela.
13 L’Éternel fit avertir Israël et Juda par tous ses prophètes, par tous les voyants, et leur dit: Revenez de vos mauvaises voies, et observez mes commandements et mes ordonnances, en suivant entièrement la loi que j’ai prescrite à vos pères et que je vous ai envoyée par mes serviteurs les prophètes.
14 Mais ils n’écoutèrent point, et ils roidirent leur cou, comme leurs pères, qui n’avaient pas cru en l’Éternel, leur Dieu.
15 Ils rejetèrent ses lois, l’alliance qu’il avait faite avec leurs pères, et les avertissements qu’il leur avait adressés. Ils allèrent après des choses de néant et ne furent eux-mêmes que néant, et après les nations qui les entouraient et que l’Éternel leur avait défendu d’imiter.
16 Ils abandonnèrent tous les commandements de l’Éternel, leur Dieu, ils se firent deux veaux en fonte, ils fabriquèrent des idoles d’Astarté, ils se prosternèrent devant toute l’armée des cieux, et ils servirent Baal.
17 Ils firent passer par le feu leurs fils et leurs filles, ils se livrèrent à la divination et aux enchantements, et ils se vendirent pour faire ce qui est mal aux yeux de l’Éternel, afin de l’irriter.
18 Aussi l’Éternel s’est-il fortement irrité contre Israël, et les a-t-il éloignés de sa face. -Il n’est resté que la seule tribu de Juda.
19 Juda même n’avait pas gardé les commandements de l’Éternel, son Dieu, et ils avaient suivi les coutumes établies par Israël. –
20 L’Éternel a rejeté toute la race d’Israël; il les a humiliés, il les a livrés entre les mains des pillards, et il a fini par les chasser loin de sa face.
21 Car Israël s’était détaché de la maison de David, et ils avaient fait roi Jéroboam, fils de Nebath, qui les avait détournés de l’Éternel, et avait fait commettre à Israël un grand péché.
22 Les enfants d’Israël s’étaient livrés à tous les péchés que Jéroboam avait commis; ils ne s’en détournèrent point,
23 jusqu’à ce que l’Éternel eût chassé Israël loin de sa face, comme il l’avait annoncé par tous ses serviteurs les prophètes. Et Israël a été emmené captif loin de son pays en Assyrie, où il est resté jusqu’à ce jour.
24 Le roi d’Assyrie fit venir des gens de Babylone, de Cutha, d’Avva, de Hamath et de Sepharvaïm, et les établit dans les villes de Samarie à la place des enfants d’Israël. Ils prirent possession de Samarie, et ils habitèrent dans ses villes.
25 Lorsqu’ils commencèrent à y habiter, ils ne craignaient pas l’Éternel, et l’Éternel envoya contre eux des lions qui les tuaient.
26 On dit au roi d’Assyrie: Les nations que tu as transportées et établies dans les villes de Samarie ne connaissent pas la manière de servir le dieu du pays, et il a envoyé contre elles des lions qui les font mourir, parce qu’elles ne connaissent pas la manière de servir le dieu du pays.
27 Le roi d’Assyrie donna cet ordre: Faites-y aller l’un des prêtres que vous avez emmenés de là en captivité; qu’il parte pour s’y établir, et qu’il leur enseigne la manière de servir le dieu du pays.
28 Un des prêtres qui avaient été emmenés captifs de Samarie vint s’établir à Béthel, et leur enseigna comment ils devaient craindre l’Éternel.
29 Mais les nations firent chacune leurs dieux dans les villes qu’elles habitaient, et les placèrent dans les maisons des hauts lieux bâties par les Samaritains.
30 Les gens de Babylone firent Succoth Benoth, les gens de Cuth firent Nergal, les gens de Hamath firent Aschima,
31 ceux d’Avva firent Nibchaz et Tharthak; ceux de Sepharvaïm brûlaient leurs enfants par le feu en l’honneur d’Adrammélec et d’Anammélec, dieux de Sepharvaïm.
32 Ils craignaient aussi l’Éternel, et ils se créèrent des prêtres des hauts lieux pris parmi tout le peuple: ces prêtres offraient pour eux des sacrifices dans les maisons des hauts lieux.
33 Ainsi ils craignaient l’Éternel, et ils servaient en même temps leurs dieux d’après la coutume des nations d’où on les avait transportés.
34 Ils suivent encore aujourd’hui leurs premiers usages: ils ne craignent point l’Éternel, et ils ne se conforment ni à leurs lois et à leurs ordonnances, ni à la loi et aux commandements prescrits par l’Éternel aux enfants de Jacob qu’il appela du nom d’Israël.
35 L’Éternel avait fait alliance avec eux, et leur avait donné cet ordre: Vous ne craindrez point d’autres dieux; vous ne vous prosternerez point devant eux, vous ne les servirez point, et vous ne leur offrirez point de sacrifices.
36 Mais vous craindrez l’Éternel, qui vous a fait monter du pays d’Égypte avec une grande puissance et à bras étendu; c’est devant lui que vous vous prosternerez, et c’est à lui que vous offrirez des sacrifices.
37 Vous observerez et mettrez toujours en pratique les préceptes, les ordonnances, la loi et les commandements, qu’il a écrits pour vous, et vous ne craindrez point d’autres dieux.
38 Vous n’oublierez pas l’alliance que j’ai faite avec vous, et vous ne craindrez point d’autres dieux.
39 Mais vous craindrez l’Éternel, votre Dieu; et il vous délivrera de la main de tous vos ennemis.
40 Et ils n’ont point obéi, et ils ont suivi leurs premiers usages.
41 Ces nations craignaient l’Éternel et servaient leurs images; et leurs enfants et les enfants de leurs enfants font jusqu’à ce jour ce que leurs pères ont fait.

1 In the twelfth year of Ahaz king of Judah began Hoshea the son of Elah to reign in Samaria over Israel nine years.
2 And he did that which was evil in the sight of the Lord, but not as the kings of Israel that were before him.
3 Against him came up Shalmaneser king of Assyria; and Hoshea became his servant, and gave him presents.
4 And the king of Assyria found conspiracy in Hoshea: for he had sent messengers to So king of Egypt, and brought no present to the king of Assyria, as he had done year by year: therefore the king of Assyria shut him up, and bound him in prison.
5 Then the king of Assyria came up throughout all the land, and went up to Samaria, and besieged it three years.
6 In the ninth year of Hoshea the king of Assyria took Samaria, and carried Israel away into Assyria, and placed them in Halah and in Habor by the river of Gozan, and in the cities of the Medes.
7 For so it was, that the children of Israel had sinned against the Lord their God, which had brought them up out of the land of Egypt, from under the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt, and had feared other gods,
8 And walked in the statutes of the heathen, whom the Lord cast out from before the children of Israel, and of the kings of Israel, which they had made.
9 And the children of Israel did secretly those things that were not right against the Lord their God, and they built them high places in all their cities, from the tower of the watchmen to the fenced city.
10 And they set them up images and groves in every high hill, and under every green tree:
11 And there they burnt incense in all the high places, as did the heathen whom the Lord carried away before them; and wrought wicked things to provoke the Lord to anger:
12 For they served idols, whereof the Lord had said unto them, Ye shall not do this thing.
13 Yet the Lord testified against Israel, and against Judah, by all the prophets, and by all the seers, saying, Turn ye from your evil ways, and keep my commandments and my statutes, according to all the law which I commanded your fathers, and which I sent to you by my servants the prophets.
14 Notwithstanding they would not hear, but hardened their necks, like to the neck of their fathers, that did not believe in the Lord their God.
15 And they rejected his statutes, and his covenant that he made with their fathers, and his testimonies which he testified against them; and they followed vanity, and became vain, and went after the heathen that were round about them, concerning whom the Lord had charged them, that they should not do like them.
16 And they left all the commandments of the Lord their God, and made them molten images, even two calves, and made a grove, and worshipped all the host of heaven, and served Baal.
17 And they caused their sons and their daughters to pass through the fire, and used divination and enchantments, and sold themselves to do evil in the sight of the Lord, to provoke him to anger.
18 Therefore the Lord was very angry with Israel, and removed them out of his sight: there was none left but the tribe of Judah only.
19 Also Judah kept not the commandments of the Lord their God, but walked in the statutes of Israel which they made.
20 And the Lord rejected all the seed of Israel, and afflicted them, and delivered them into the hand of spoilers, until he had cast them out of his sight.
21 For he rent Israel from the house of David; and they made Jeroboam the son of Nebat king: and Jeroboam drave Israel from following the Lord, and made them sin a great sin.
22 For the children of Israel walked in all the sins of Jeroboam which he did; they departed not from them;
23 Until the Lord removed Israel out of his sight, as he had said by all his servants the prophets. So was Israel carried away out of their own land to Assyria unto this day.
24 And the king of Assyria brought men from Babylon, and from Cuthah, and from Ava, and from Hamath, and from Sepharvaim, and placed them in the cities of Samaria instead of the children of Israel: and they possessed Samaria, and dwelt in the cities thereof.
25 And so it was at the beginning of their dwelling there, that they feared not the Lord: therefore the Lord sent lions among them, which slew some of them.
26 Wherefore they spake to the king of Assyria, saying, The nations which thou hast removed, and placed in the cities of Samaria, know not the manner of the God of the land: therefore he hath sent lions among them, and, behold, they slay them, because they know not the manner of the God of the land.
27 Then the king of Assyria commanded, saying, Carry thither one of the priests whom ye brought from thence; and let them go and dwell there, and let him teach them the manner of the God of the land.
28 Then one of the priests whom they had carried away from Samaria came and dwelt in Bethel, and taught them how they should fear the Lord.
29 Howbeit every nation made gods of their own, and put them in the houses of the high places which the Samaritans had made, every nation in their cities wherein they dwelt.
30 And the men of Babylon made Succothbenoth, and the men of Cuth made Nergal, and the men of Hamath made Ashima,
31 And the Avites made Nibhaz and Tartak, and the Sepharvites burnt their children in fire to Adrammelech and Anammelech, the gods of Sepharvaim.
32 So they feared the Lord, and made unto themselves of the lowest of them priests of the high places, which sacrificed for them in the houses of the high places.
33 They feared the Lord, and served their own gods, after the manner of the nations whom they carried away from thence.
34 Unto this day they do after the former manners: they fear not the Lord, neither do they after their statutes, or after their ordinances, or after the law and commandment which the Lord commanded the children of Jacob, whom he named Israel;
35 With whom the Lord had made a covenant, and charged them, saying, Ye shall not fear other gods, nor bow yourselves to them, nor serve them, nor sacrifice to them:
36 But the Lord, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt with great power and a stretched out arm, him shall ye fear, and him shall ye worship, and to him shall ye do sacrifice.
37 And the statutes, and the ordinances, and the law, and the commandment, which he wrote for you, ye shall observe to do for evermore; and ye shall not fear other gods.
38 And the covenant that I have made with you ye shall not forget; neither shall ye fear other gods.
39 But the Lord your God ye shall fear; and he shall deliver you out of the hand of all your enemies.
40 Howbeit they did not hearken, but they did after their former manner.
41 So these nations feared the Lord, and served their graven images, both their children, and their children’s children: as did their fathers, so do they unto this day.
