1 Seyè a parèt devan Abraram bò pye bwadchenn Manmre yo. Abraram te chita nan papòt kay li, lè ki te fè pi cho nan lajounen an.
2 Abraram leve je l’, li rete konsa li wè twa mesye kanpe devan li toupre pyebwa yo. Wè li wè yo, li leve nan papòt la, li kouri al jwenn yo, li bese tèt li jouk atè pou l’ di yo bonjou.
3 Li di. Mèt, tanpri. Pa pase devan lakay mwen san ou pa fè yon ti rete. Se sèvitè ou mwen ye.
4 Kite m’ mande yo pote ti gout dlo pou lave pye ou. Lèfini, w’a pran yon ti repo anba pyebwa sa a.
5 ‘a pote yon ti manje pou ou soutni kè ou pou ou reprann fòs pou ou ka kontinye vwayaj ou. Ou rive lakay mwen, mwen la pou m’ sèvi ou. Yo reponn li: -Dakò. Ou mèt fè jan ou di a.
6 Abraram kouri lakay li, li ale jwenn Sara. Li di l’ konsa. Fè vit. Pran trant liv farin bon kalite, mouye l’, fè pen.
7 Apre sa, Abraram kouri al nan bann bèt li yo, li pran yon jenn ti bèf byen gra, li bay yonn nan domestik li yo li pou li prese al kòche l’.
8 Apre sa, li pran fwomaj, li pran lèt fre, li mete yo ansanm ak vyann yo te pare a, li sèvi mesye yo. Pandan yo t’ap manje, Abraram te kanpe bò kote yo anba pyebwa a.
9  Lèfini, yo mande l’. Kote Sara, madanm ou? Li reponn. Li la wi, anndan kay la.
10 Yonn nan vizitè yo di l’. Mwen gen pou m’ tounen isit la, lè konsa lanne k’ap vini an. Lè sa a, Sara, madanm ou, ap gen tan gen yon pitit gason. Sara menm te kanpe nan papòt la dèyè Abraram, li t’ap koute.
11 Abraram ak Sara te fin vye granmoun. Yo te antre nan laj. Sara te sispann gen lalen li.
12 Sara tonbe ri nan kè l’, li t’ap di. Koulye a, kalite jan m’ fin vye a, ou kwè lide m’ ta sou gason toujou! Epitou, mari mwen, mèt mwen, fin granmoun!
13 Seyè a di Abraram. Sa ki gen la a pou Sara ri konsa, pou l’ap di nan kè l’. Eske mwen kapab fè pitit ankò, jan m’ fin vye a?
14 Bon. Eske gen kichòy ki twòp la a pou Mèt la fè? Sou dat mwen fikse a, m’a tounen pase wè ou ankò. Lè sa a, Sara va gen yon pitit gason.
15 Sara te pè, li t’ap plede, li t’ap di. Mwen pa t’ ri non! Men Seyè a di l’. Men wi, machè, ou te ri.
16 Mesye yo leve, yo pati, yo mete tèt sou Sodòm. Yo rive kote yo te ka voye je yo gade anba pou wè Sodòm. Abraram menm t’ap mache ak yo. Li t’ap kondi yo mete pi devan sou wout la.
17 Seyè a di nan kè l’. Mwen pa kapab kache Abraram sa m’ pral fè a.
18 Pitit pitit li yo pral tounen yon gwo nasyon ki va gen pouvwa. Gremesi Abraram, tout nasyon sou latè pral jwenn benediksyon.
19 Mwen te chwazi l’ pou l’ te pase pitit li yo ak tout rès fanmi l’ k’ap vin apre li yo lòd pou yo mache nan chemen Seyè a met devan yo, pou yo fè sa ki kòrèk ak sa ki dwat devan Bondye. Se konsa m’a fè pou li tout sa mwen te pwomèt li a.
20 Apre sa, Seyè a di. Se pa ti kras bagay y’ap di sou moun Sodòm ak moun Gomò, paske peche moun sa yo lou anpil.
21 M’ap desann pou m’ wè ak je mwen si sa y’ap di sou yo a se vre. Si se pa vre, m’a konnen.
22 Mesye yo pati, yo mete tèt sou Sodòm. Men, Seyè a te rete ak Abraram.
23  Abraram pwoche bò kote Seyè a, li mande l’. Eske se vre ou pral touye inonsan yo ansanm ak koupab yo?
24 Si gen senkant moun inonsan nan lavil la, èske w’ap detwi tout lavil la? Eske ou p’ap fè pa lavil la poutèt senkant inonsan sa yo?
25 Aa! Pou di w’ap fè inonsan peri ak koupab? Se pa posib. Ou pa ka fè sa. Se lenjistis pou inonsan gen menm sò ak koupab. Non, sa pa ka fèt. Bondye k’ap jije tout moun sou tè a pa ka nan fè lenjistis.
26 Seyè a reponn. Si mwen jwenn senkant inonsan nan lavil Sodòm, m’ap fè pa tout lavil la, poutèt senkant inonsan sa yo.
27 Abraram pale ankò, li di. Eskize m’ wi! Seyè, si m’ penmèt mwen pale ankò. Se moun ase mwen ye, mwen pa gen dwa di ou anyen.
28 Men, si se karannsenk moun inonsan sèlman ou jwenn, èske ou pral detwi tout lavil la paske manke senk pou fè senkant lan? Seyè a reponn. Si mwen jwenn karannsenk inonsan sèlman, mwen p’ap detwi lavil la.
29 Abraram pale ankò, li di. Ou pa janm konnen, ka gen karant inonsan ase? Seyè a reponn. Si gen karant inonsan, mwen p’ap detwi lavil la.
30 Abraram di. Tanpri, Seyè, pa fache sou mwen non. M’ap di ou yon ti mo ankò. Ou pa janm konnen, ou ka jwenn trant inonsan ase nan lavil la. Seyè a reponn. Si mwen jwenn trant, m’ap fè pa lavil la.
31 Abraram di. Eskize m’ wi, Seyè, si m’ penmèt mwen pale toujou. Men, sipoze ou jwenn vin inonsan sèlman? Seyè a reponn li. Si mwen jwenn vin inonsan, m’ap fè pa lavil la.
32 Abraram di ankò. Tanpri, Seyè, pa fache sou mwen non. M’ap di yon dènye mo. Si ou jwenn dis inonsan ase? Seyè a reponn li. Si mwen jwenn dis inonsan, m’ap fè pa lavil la.
33 Apre li fin pale ak Abraram, Seyè a al fè wout li. Abraram menm tounen lakay li.

Genèse 18

1 L’Éternel lui apparut parmi les chênes de Mamré, comme il était assis à l’entrée de sa tente, pendant la chaleur du jour.
2 Il leva les yeux, et regarda: et voici, trois hommes étaient debout près de lui. Quand il les vit, il courut au-devant d’eux, depuis l’entrée de sa tente, et se prosterna en terre.
3 Et il dit: Seigneur, si j’ai trouvé grâce à tes yeux, ne passe point, je te prie, loin de ton serviteur.
4 Permettez qu’on apporte un peu d’eau, pour vous laver les pieds; et reposez-vous sous cet arbre.
5 J’irai prendre un morceau de pain, pour fortifier votre coeur; après quoi, vous continuerez votre route; car c’est pour cela que vous passez près de votre serviteur. Ils répondirent: Fais comme tu l’as dit.
6 Abraham alla promptement dans sa tente vers Sara, et il dit: Vite, trois mesures de fleur de farine, pétris, et fais des gâteaux.
7 Et Abraham courut à son troupeau, prit un veau tendre et bon, et le donna à un serviteur, qui se hâta de l’apprêter.
8 Il prit encore de la crème et du lait, avec le veau qu’on avait apprêté, et il les mit devant eux. Il se tint lui-même à leurs côtés, sous l’arbre. Et ils mangèrent.
9 Alors ils lui dirent: Où est Sara, ta femme? Il répondit: Elle est là, dans la tente.
10 L’un d’entre eux dit: Je reviendrai vers toi à cette même époque; et voici, Sara, ta femme, aura un fils. Sara écoutait à l’entrée de la tente, qui était derrière lui.
11 Abraham et Sara étaient vieux, avancés en âge: et Sara ne pouvait plus espérer avoir des enfants.
12 Elle rit en elle-même, en disant: Maintenant que je suis vieille, aurais-je encore des désirs? Mon seigneur aussi est vieux.
13 L’Éternel dit à Abraham: Pourquoi donc Sara a-t-elle ri, en disant: Est-ce que vraiment j’aurais un enfant, moi qui suis vieille?
14 Y a-t-il rien qui soit étonnant de la part de l’Éternel? Au temps fixé je reviendrai vers toi, à cette même époque; et Sara aura un fils.
15 Sara mentit, en disant: Je n’ai pas ri. Car elle eut peur. Mais il dit: Au contraire, tu as ri.
16 Ces hommes se levèrent pour partir, et ils regardèrent du côté de Sodome. Abraham alla avec eux, pour les accompagner.
17 Alors l’Éternel dit: Cacherai-je à Abraham ce que je vais faire?…
18 Abraham deviendra certainement une nation grande et puissante, et en lui seront bénies toutes les nations de la terre.
19 Car je l’ai choisi, afin qu’il ordonne à ses fils et à sa maison après lui de garder la voie de l’Éternel, en pratiquant la droiture et la justice, et qu’ainsi l’Éternel accomplisse en faveur d’Abraham les promesses qu’il lui a faites…
20 Et l’Éternel dit: Le cri contre Sodome et Gomorrhe s’est accru, et leur péché est énorme.
21 C’est pourquoi je vais descendre, et je verrai s’ils ont agi entièrement selon le bruit venu jusqu’à moi; et si cela n’est pas, je le saurai.
22 Les hommes s’éloignèrent, et allèrent vers Sodome. Mais Abraham se tint encore en présence de l’Éternel.
23 Abraham s’approcha, et dit: Feras-tu aussi périr le juste avec le méchant?
24 Peut-être y a-t-il cinquante justes au milieu de la ville: les feras-tu périr aussi, et ne pardonneras-tu pas à la ville à cause des cinquante justes qui sont au milieu d’elle?
25 Faire mourir le juste avec le méchant, en sorte qu’il en soit du juste comme du méchant, loin de toi cette manière d’agir! loin de toi! Celui qui juge toute la terre n’exercera-t-il pas la justice?
26 Et l’Éternel dit: Si je trouve dans Sodome cinquante justes au milieu de la ville, je pardonnerai à toute la ville, à cause d’eux.
27 Abraham reprit, et dit: Voici, j’ai osé parler au Seigneur, moi qui ne suis que poudre et cendre.
28 Peut-être des cinquante justes en manquera-t-il cinq: pour cinq, détruiras-tu toute la ville? Et l’Éternel dit: Je ne la détruirai point, si j’y trouve quarante-cinq justes.
29 Abraham continua de lui parler, et dit: Peut-être s’y trouvera-t-il quarante justes. Et l’Éternel dit: Je ne ferai rien, à cause de ces quarante.
30 Abraham dit: Que le Seigneur ne s’irrite point, et je parlerai. Peut-être s’y trouvera-t-il trente justes. Et l’Éternel dit: Je ne ferai rien, si j’y trouve trente justes.
31 Abraham dit: Voici, j’ai osé parler au Seigneur. Peut-être s’y trouvera-t-il vingt justes. Et l’Éternel dit: Je ne la détruirai point, à cause de ces vingt.
32 Abraham dit: Que le Seigneur ne s’irrite point, et je ne parlerai plus que cette fois. Peut-être s’y trouvera-t-il dix justes. Et l’Éternel dit: Je ne la détruirai point, à cause de ces dix justes.
33 L’Éternel s’en alla lorsqu’il eut achevé de parler à Abraham. Et Abraham retourna dans sa demeure.

Genesis 18

1 And the Lord appeared unto him in the plains of Mamre: and he sat in the tent door in the heat of the day;
2 And he lift up his eyes and looked, and, lo, three men stood by him: and when he saw them, he ran to meet them from the tent door, and bowed himself toward the ground,
3 And said, My Lord, if now I have found favour in thy sight, pass not away, I pray thee, from thy servant:
4 Let a little water, I pray you, be fetched, and wash your feet, and rest yourselves under the tree:
5 And I will fetch a morsel of bread, and comfort ye your hearts; after that ye shall pass on: for therefore are ye come to your servant. And they said, So do, as thou hast said.
6 And Abraham hastened into the tent unto Sarah, and said, Make ready quickly three measures of fine meal, knead it, and make cakes upon the hearth.
7 And Abraham ran unto the herd, and fetcht a calf tender and good, and gave it unto a young man; and he hasted to dress it.
8 And he took butter, and milk, and the calf which he had dressed, and set it before them; and he stood by them under the tree, and they did eat.
9 And they said unto him, Where is Sarah thy wife? And he said, Behold, in the tent.
10 And he said, I will certainly return unto thee according to the time of life; and, lo, Sarah thy wife shall have a son. And Sarah heard it in the tent door, which was behind him.
11 Now Abraham and Sarah were old and well stricken in age; and it ceased to be with Sarah after the manner of women.
12 Therefore Sarah laughed within herself, saying, After I am waxed old shall I have pleasure, my lord being old also?
13 And the Lord said unto Abraham, Wherefore did Sarah laugh, saying, Shall I of a surety bear a child, which am old?
14 Is any thing too hard for the Lord? At the time appointed I will return unto thee, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son.
15 Then Sarah denied, saying, I laughed not; for she was afraid. And he said, Nay; but thou didst laugh.
16 And the men rose up from thence, and looked toward Sodom: and Abraham went with them to bring them on the way.
17 And the Lord said, Shall I hide from Abraham that thing which I do;
18 Seeing that Abraham shall surely become a great and mighty nation, and all the nations of the earth shall be blessed in him?
19 For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the Lord, to do justice and judgment; that the Lord may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him.
20 And the Lord said, Because the cry of Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and because their sin is very grievous;
21 I will go down now, and see whether they have done altogether according to the cry of it, which is come unto me; and if not, I will know.
22 And the men turned their faces from thence, and went toward Sodom: but Abraham stood yet before the Lord.
23 And Abraham drew near, and said, Wilt thou also destroy the righteous with the wicked?
24 Peradventure there be fifty righteous within the city: wilt thou also destroy and not spare the place for the fifty righteous that are therein?
25 That be far from thee to do after this manner, to slay the righteous with the wicked: and that the righteous should be as the wicked, that be far from thee: Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right?
26 And the Lord said, If I find in Sodom fifty righteous within the city, then I will spare all the place for their sakes.
27 And Abraham answered and said, Behold now, I have taken upon me to speak unto the Lord, which am but dust and ashes:
28 Peradventure there shall lack five of the fifty righteous: wilt thou destroy all the city for lack of five? And he said, If I find there forty and five, I will not destroy it.
29 And he spake unto him yet again, and said, Peradventure there shall be forty found there. And he said, I will not do it for forty’s sake.
30 And he said unto him, Oh let not the Lord be angry, and I will speak: Peradventure there shall thirty be found there. And he said, I will not do it, if I find thirty there.
31 And he said, Behold now, I have taken upon me to speak unto the Lord: Peradventure there shall be twenty found there. And he said, I will not destroy it for twenty’s sake.
32 And he said, Oh let not the Lord be angry, and I will speak yet but this once: Peradventure ten shall be found there. And he said, I will not destroy it for ten’s sake.
33 And the Lord went his way, as soon as he had left communing with Abraham: and Abraham returned unto his place.
