1 David te fèk fin kite tèt mòn lan lè li wè Ziba, domestik Mefibochèt la, k’ap vin kontre l’. Li t’ap mennen de bourik byen chaje avèk desan (200) pen, san (100) grap rezen chèch, san (100) pake fwi mi ak yon gwo veso fèt ak po bèt plen diven.
2 Wa David mande l’: -Sa ou pral fè ak tout bagay sa yo? Ziba reponn li: -Bourik yo, se pou wa a ansanm ak fanmi li yo moute. Pen yo ak fwi yo, se pou moun ou yo manje, diven an pou yo bwè lè y’a santi yo bouke nan dezè a.
3 Wa a mande l’: -Kote mèt ou, Mefibochèt, pitit pitit Sayil la? Ziba reponn: -Li rete lavil Jerizalèm, paske li di li sèten moun peyi Izrayèl yo pral renmèt li baton kòmandman ki te nan men Sayil, granpapa l’ la.
4 Wa a di Ziba konsa: -Depi jòdi a, tou sa ki te pou Mefibochèt se pou ou yo ye. Ziba reponn li: -Men mwen lage kò m’ nan pye ou, monwa. Mwen mande pou ou toujou kontan avè m’.
5 Lè wa David rive bò lavil Bakourim, yon moun fanmi wa Sayil soti lavil la vin kontre l’. Se te Chimeyi, pitit gason Gera a. Antan l’ap vanse sou David, li t’ap joure l’, li t’ap ba li madichon.
6 Li konmanse voye wòch sou David ak sou moun pa l’ yo, atout pèp la ak sòlda yo t’ap mache sou bò dwat ak sou bò gòch wa a.
7 Chimeyi t’ap bay David madichon, li t’ap di l’: -Ale ou vouzan! Ale ou vouzan! Vakabon! Ansasen!
8 Ou te pran plas wa Sayil la! Jòdi a Seyè a ap pini ou pou tout moun nan fanmi Sayil ou te sasinen yo. Seyè a renmèt gouvènman an nan men Absalon, pitit gason ou lan. Se konsa pou ou te fini, se ansasen ou ye!
9 Abichayi, pitit gason Sewouya a, di wa a konsa: -Monwa, poukisa pou ou kite chen mouri sa a ap madichonnen ou konsa? Kite m’ janbe lòt bò a al koupe tèt li!
10 Wa a di Abichayi ansanm ak Joab, frè li a: -Pa antre nan sa ki pa gade nou, tande. Si se Seyè a ki di l’ pou l’ ban m’ madichon, ki moun ki gen dwa mande l’ pouki l’ap fè sa?
11 Apre sa, David pale ak Abichayi ansanm ak tout moun pa l’ yo, li di yo: -Gade! Pwòp pitit gason mwen, san mwen, deyò pou l’ touye m’. Ale wè pou moun sa a ki soti nan ras Benjamen yo! Kite l’ ban m’ madichon, si se Seyè a ki di l’ ban m’ madichon.
12 Nou pa janm konnen, Seyè a va wè nan ki mizè mwen ye. Lè sa a, l’a ban m’ benediksyon nan plas madichon l’ap ban m’ jòdi a.
13 Se konsa, David ale chemen l’ avèk tout moun li yo. Chimeyi menm t’ap mache dèyè yo sou flan mòn lan, li t’ap ba yo madichon, li t’ap voye wòch ak pousyè tè sou yo.
14 Wa a ansanm ak tout pèp la te bouke jouk yo pa t’ kapab ankò lè yo rive bò larivyè Jouden. Se la yo rete pran souf.
15 Absalon antre lavil Jerizalèm ansanm ak tout moun peyi Izrayèl yo. Achitofèl te ansanm ak yo.
16 Lè Ouchayi, bon zanmi David la, kontre ak Absolon, li di: -Viv wa a! Viv wa a!
17 Absalon di l’ konsa: -Se konsa ou te bon zanmi David la? Poukisa ou pa t’ ale ansanm avè l’?
18 Ouchayi reponn li: -Ki jan pou m’ ta fè sa? Se pou moun Seyè a ansanm ak moun sa yo ak tout moun peyi Izrayèl yo chwazi a mwen ye. Se avè l’ pou m’ rete.
19 Lèfini, ki moun pou m’ ta sèvi si se pa pitit mèt mwen an? Menm jan mwen te sèvi papa ou, konsa m’a sèvi ou tou.
20 Apre sa, Absalon vire bò Achitofèl, li di l’ konsa: -Ann antann nou sou sa nou pral fè koulye a.
21 Achitofèl reponn: -Al kouche ak lòt fanm kay papa ou yo, sa li kite dèyè pou okipe palè a. Lè sa a, tout moun nan peyi Izrayèl la va konnen bagay la gate nèt ant ou menm ak papa ou. Konsa, moun ki avè ou yo ap vin pi ankouraje.
22 Se konsa, yo moute yon tant pou Absalon sou teras sou do palè a. Epi la, devan tout moun peyi Izrayèl yo, Absalon kouche ak fanm kay papa l’ yo.
23 Lè sa a, nenpòt konsèy Achitofèl te bay se tankou si se te pawòl Bondye. Ni David ni Absalon te toujou swiv konsèy li yo.

1 Lorsque David eut un peu dépassé le sommet, voici, Tsiba, serviteur de Mephiboscheth, vint au-devant de lui avec deux ânes bâtés, sur lesquels il y avait deux cents pains, cent masses de raisins secs, cent de fruits d’été, et une outre de vin.
2 Le roi dit à Tsiba: Que veux-tu faire de cela? Et Tsiba répondit: Les ânes serviront de monture à la maison du roi, le pain et les fruits d’été sont pour nourrir les jeunes gens, et le vin pour désaltérer ceux qui seront fatigués dans le désert.
3 Le roi dit: Où est le fils de ton maître? Et Tsiba répondit au roi: Voici, il est resté à Jérusalem, car il a dit: Aujourd’hui la maison d’Israël me rendra le royaume de mon père.
4 Le roi dit à Tsiba: Voici, tout ce qui appartient à Mephiboscheth est à toi. Et Tsiba dit: Je me prosterne! Que je trouve grâce à tes yeux, ô roi mon seigneur!
5 David était arrivé jusqu’à Bachurim. Et voici, il sortit de là un homme de la famille et de la maison de Saül, nommé Schimeï, fils de Guéra. Il s’avança en prononçant des malédictions,
6 et il jeta des pierres à David et à tous les serviteurs du roi David, tandis que tout le peuple et tous les hommes vaillants étaient à la droite et à la gauche du roi.
7 Schimeï parlait ainsi en le maudissant: Va-t’en, va-t’en, homme de sang, méchant homme!
8 L’Éternel fait retomber sur toi tout le sang de la maison de Saül, dont tu occupais le trône, et l’Éternel a livré le royaume entre les mains d’Absalom, ton fils; et te voilà malheureux comme tu le mérites, car tu es un homme de sang!
9 Alors Abischaï, fils de Tseruja, dit au roi: Pourquoi ce chien mort maudit-il le roi mon seigneur? Laisse-moi, je te prie, aller lui couper la tête.
10 Mais le roi dit: Qu’ai-je affaire avec vous, fils de Tseruja? S’il maudit, c’est que l’Éternel lui a dit: Maudis David! Qui donc lui dira: Pourquoi agis-tu ainsi?
11 Et David dit à Abischaï et à tous ses serviteurs: Voici, mon fils, qui est sorti de mes entrailles, en veut à ma vie; à plus forte raison ce Benjamite! Laissez-le, et qu’il maudisse, car l’Éternel le lui a dit.
12 Peut-être l’Éternel regardera-t-il mon affliction, et me fera-t-il du bien en retour des malédictions d’aujourd’hui.
13 David et ses gens continuèrent leur chemin. Et Schimeï marchait sur le flanc de la montagne près de David, et, en marchant, il maudissait, il jetait des pierres contre lui, il faisait voler la poussière.
14 Le roi et tout le peuple qui était avec lui arrivèrent à Ajephim, et là ils se reposèrent.
15 Absalom et tout le peuple, les hommes d’Israël, étaient entrés dans Jérusalem; et Achitophel était avec Absalom.
16 Lorsque Huschaï, l’Arkien, ami de David, fut arrivé auprès d’Absalom, il lui dit: Vive le roi! vive le roi!
17 Et Absalom dit à Huschaï: Voilà donc l’attachement que tu as pour ton ami! Pourquoi n’es-tu pas allé avec ton ami?
18 Huschaï répondit à Absalom: C’est que je veux être à celui qu’ont choisi l’Éternel et tout ce peuple et tous les hommes d’Israël, et c’est avec lui que je veux rester.
19 D’ailleurs, qui servirai-je? Ne sera-ce pas son fils? Comme j’ai servi ton père, ainsi je te servirai.
20 Absalom dit à Achitophel: Consultez ensemble; qu’avons-nous à faire?
21 Et Achitophel dit à Absalom: Va vers les concubines que ton père a laissées pour garder la maison; ainsi tout Israël saura que tu t’es rendu odieux à ton père, et les mains de tous ceux qui sont avec toi se fortifieront.
22 On dressa pour Absalom une tente sur le toit, et Absalom alla vers les concubines de son père, aux yeux de tout Israël.
23 Les conseils donnés en ce temps-là par Achitophel avaient autant d’autorité que si l’on eût consulté Dieu lui-même. Il en était ainsi de tous les conseils d’Achitophel, soit pour David, soit pour Absalom.

1 And when David was a little past the top of the hill, behold, Ziba the servant of Mephibosheth met him, with a couple of asses saddled, and upon them two hundred loaves of bread, and an hundred bunches of raisins, and an hundred of summer fruits, and a bottle of wine.
2 And the king said unto Ziba, What meanest thou by these? And Ziba said, The asses be for the king’s household to ride on; and the bread and summer fruit for the young men to eat; and the wine, that such as be faint in the wilderness may drink.
3 And the king said, And where is thy master’s son? And Ziba said unto the king, Behold, he abideth at Jerusalem: for he said, To day shall the house of Israel restore me the kingdom of my father.
4 Then said the king to Ziba, Behold, thine are all that pertained unto Mephibosheth. And Ziba said, I humbly beseech thee that I may find grace in thy sight, my lord, O king.
5 And when king David came to Bahurim, behold, thence came out a man of the family of the house of Saul, whose name was Shimei, the son of Gera: he came forth, and cursed still as he came.
6 And he cast stones at David, and at all the servants of king David: and all the people and all the mighty men were on his right hand and on his left.
7 And thus said Shimei when he cursed, Come out, come out, thou bloody man, and thou man of Belial:
8 The Lord hath returned upon thee all the blood of the house of Saul, in whose stead thou hast reigned; and the Lord hath delivered the kingdom into the hand of Absalom thy son: and, behold, thou art taken in thy mischief, because thou art a bloody man.
9 Then said Abishai the son of Zeruiah unto the king, Why should this dead dog curse my lord the king? let me go over, I pray thee, and take off his head.
10 And the king said, What have I to do with you, ye sons of Zeruiah? so let him curse, because the Lord hath said unto him, Curse David. Who shall then say, Wherefore hast thou done so?
11 And David said to Abishai, and to all his servants, Behold, my son, which came forth of my bowels, seeketh my life: how much more now may this Benjamite do it? let him alone, and let him curse; for the Lord hath bidden him.
12 It may be that the Lord will look on mine affliction, and that the Lord will requite me good for his cursing this day.
13 And as David and his men went by the way, Shimei went along on the hill’s side over against him, and cursed as he went, and threw stones at him, and cast dust.
14 And the king, and all the people that were with him, came weary, and refreshed themselves there.
15 And Absalom, and all the people the men of Israel, came to Jerusalem, and Ahithophel with him.
16 And it came to pass, when Hushai the Archite, David’s friend, was come unto Absalom, that Hushai said unto Absalom, God save the king, God save the king.
17 And Absalom said to Hushai, Is this thy kindness to thy friend? why wentest thou not with thy friend?
18 And Hushai said unto Absalom, Nay; but whom the Lord, and this people, and all the men of Israel, choose, his will I be, and with him will I abide.
19 And again, whom should I serve? should I not serve in the presence of his son? as I have served in thy father’s presence, so will I be in thy presence.
20 Then said Absalom to Ahithophel, Give counsel among you what we shall do.
21 And Ahithophel said unto Absalom, Go in unto thy father’s concubines, which he hath left to keep the house; and all Israel shall hear that thou art abhorred of thy father: then shall the hands of all that are with thee be strong.
22 So they spread Absalom a tent upon the top of the house; and Absalom went in unto his father’s concubines in the sight of all Israel.
23 And the counsel of Ahithophel, which he counselled in those days, was as if a man had enquired at the oracle of God: so was all the counsel of Ahithophel both with David and with Absalom
