Jozye 6
1 Yo te fèmen tout pòtay lavil Jeriko yo, yo te barikade yo poutèt moun pèp Izrayèl yo. Deyò pa antre, anndan pa soti.
2 Seyè a di Jozye konsa: -Koute. Mwen pral lage lavil Jeriko nan men ou ansanm ak wa a ak tout vanyan sòlda li yo.
3 Ou menm ak tout sòlda pa ou yo, nou pral mache fè wonn lavil la yon fwa chak jou pandan sis jou.
4 Sèt prèt va mache devan Bwat Kontra a, avèk sèt kòn belye pou kònen, yonn nan men yo chak. Men, setyèm jou a, n’a mache fè wonn lavil la sèt fwa ansanm ak prèt k’ap kònen kòn belye yo.
5 Lè n’a tande yon kout kòn ki trennen, tout pèp la va pran pouse yon sèl rèl byen fò. Miray ranpa lavil la pral tonbe plat atè. Lè sa a, chak moun va mache dwat devan yo sou lavil la.
6 Se konsa, Jozye, pitit gason Noun lan, rele prèt yo, li di yo: -Leve Bwat Kontra a, mete l’ sou zepòl nou. Sèt prèt va mache devan l’ avèk kòn belye yo nan men yo.
7 Apre sa, li di pèp la: -Leve mache! Nou pral fè wonn lavil la. Pòsyon lame ki pou mache devan an va pran devan Bwat Kontra a.
8 Pèp la fè jan Jozye te ba yo lòd fè a. Sèt prèt yo pran devan Bwat Kontra Seyè a, yo t’ap kònen kòn yo.
9 Pòsyon lame ki pou mache devan an pran devan prèt ki t’ap kònen yo. Pòsyon lame ki pou mache dèyè a t’ap mache dèyè Bwat Kontra a. Pandan yo t’ap mache konsa, yo t’ap kònen kòn belye yo.

14 Dezyèm jou a, yo mache fè wonn lavil la ankò yon sèl fwa. Epi yo tounen nan kan yo. Yo fè sa konsa pandan sis jou.
15 Sou setyèm jou a, yo leve lè bajou kase, yo mache menm jan an. Men, jou sa a yo fè wonn lavil la sèt fwa. Se jou sa a ase yo te fè wonn lavil la sèt fwa.
16 Setyèm fwa a, apre prèt yo fin kònen kòn belye yo, Jozye di pèp la konsa: -Nou mèt rele koulye a! Seyè a lage lavil la nan men nou!
17 Nou pral ofri lavil la ak tou sa ki ladan l’ tankou yon ofrann pou Bondye. Nou pral touye dènye moun ki ladan l’. Sèl moun ki va rete vivan, se va Rarab, jennès la, ak tout moun ki va lakay li, paske li te kache mesaje nou te voye yo.
18 Men, nou menm, pa mete men nou nan sa nou gen pou nou detwi pou Seyè a. Si nou pran anyen nan sa nou gen pou nou detwi a, n’ap lakòz malè tonbe sou kay moun Izrayèl yo, n’ap lakòz tèt chaje vin pou tout moun.
19 Tout bagay ki fèt an lò, an ajan, an fè osinon an kwiv, n’a mete yo apa pou Seyè a. N’a depoze yo nan depo richès Seyè a.
20 Se konsa, yo kònen kòn belye yo. Tande pèp la tande son kòn belye yo, yo pouse yon sèl gwo rèl, epi miray ranpa lavil la tonbe plat atè. Epi chak moun pran mache dwat devan yo sou lavil la, yo anvayi l’.
21 Yo ofri tou sa ki nan lavil la bay Seyè a. Avèk nepe yo, yo touye tout moun nan lavil la, fanm kou gason, granmoun kou timoun, tout bèf, tout mouton, tout bourik.
22 Jozye rele de mesye li te voye an kachèt al vizite lavil Jeriko a, li di yo: -Ale lakay jennès la. Fè l’ soti ak tout fanmi li, jan nou te pwomèt li a.
23 Se konsa y’ ale, yo fè Rarab soti ansanm ak papa l’, manman l’, frè l’ yo, tout rès fanmi l’ yo ak tou sa yo te genyen, yo enstale yo yon kote andeyò kan moun Izrayèl yo.
24 Yo mete dife nan lavil la, yo boule l’ nèt ak tou sa ki ladan l’, an wetan bagay ki te fèt an lò, an ajan, an fè ak an kwiv yo. Yo pran yo, yo pote yo nan depo richès Seyè a.
25 Men, Jozye te sove Rarab, jennès la, ak tout fanmi l’ yo ansanm ak tou sa ki pou yo, paske Rarab te kache mesye Jozye te voye espyonnen lavil Jeriko a. Moun fanmi Rarab yo ap viv jouk koulye a nan mitan pèp Izrayèl la.
26 Lè sa a, Jozye bay avètisman sa a pou tout moun, li di: -Madichon Bondye pou nenpòt moun ki konprann pou l’ ta rebati lavil yo rele Jeriko a. Si yon moun mete men nan fondasyon l’ yo, l’ap pèdi premye pitit gason l’ lan. Si yon moun remoute pòtay li yo, l’ap pèdi dènye pitit gason l’ la.
27 Se konsa Seyè a te kanpe la avèk Jozye. Nan tout peyi a yo t’ap nonmen non l’.

Josué 6
1 Jéricho était fermée et barricadée devant les enfants d’Israël. Personne ne sortait, et personne n’entrait.
2 L’Éternel dit à Josué: Vois, je livre entre tes mains Jéricho et son roi, ses vaillants soldats.
3 Faites le tour de la ville, vous tous les hommes de guerre, faites une fois le tour de la ville. Tu feras ainsi pendant six jours.
4 Sept sacrificateurs porteront devant l’arche sept trompettes retentissantes; le septième jour, vous ferez sept fois le tour de la ville; et les sacrificateurs sonneront des trompettes.
5 Quand ils sonneront de la corne retentissante, quand vous entendrez le son de la trompette, tout le peuple poussera de grands cris. Alors la muraille de la ville s’écroulera, et le peuple montera, chacun devant soi.
6 Josué, fils de Nun, appela les sacrificateurs, et leur dit: Portez l’arche de l’alliance, et que sept sacrificateurs portent sept trompettes retentissantes devant l’arche de l’Éternel.
7 Et il dit au peuple: Marchez, faites le tour de la ville, et que les hommes armés passent devant l’arche de l’Éternel.
8 Lorsque Josué eut parlé au peuple, les sept sacrificateurs qui portaient devant l’Éternel les sept trompettes retentissantes se mirent en marche et sonnèrent des trompettes. L’arche de l’alliance de l’Éternel allait derrière eux.
9 Les hommes armés marchaient devant les sacrificateurs qui sonnaient des trompettes, et l’arrière-garde suivait l’arche; pendant la marche, on sonnait des trompettes.
10 Josué avait donné cet ordre au peuple: Vous ne crierez point, vous ne ferez point entendre votre voix, et il ne sortira pas un mot de votre bouche jusqu’au jour où je vous dirai: Poussez des cris! Alors vous pousserez des cris.
11 L’arche de l’Éternel fit le tour de la ville, elle fit une fois le tour; puis on rentra dans le camp, et l’on y passa la nuit.
12 Josué se leva de bon matin, et les sacrificateurs portèrent l’arche de l’Éternel.
13 Les sept sacrificateurs qui portaient les sept trompettes retentissantes devant l’arche de l’Éternel se mirent en marche et sonnèrent des trompettes. Les hommes armés marchaient devant eux, et l’arrière-garde suivait l’arche de l’Éternel; pendant la marche, on sonnait des trompettes.
14 Ils firent une fois le tour de la ville, le second jour; puis ils retournèrent dans le camp. Ils firent de même pendant six jours.
15 Le septième jour, ils se levèrent de bon matin, dès l’aurore, et ils firent de la même manière sept fois le tour de la ville; ce fut le seul jour où ils firent sept fois le tour de la ville.
16 A la septième fois, comme les sacrificateurs sonnaient des trompettes, Josué dit au peuple: Poussez des cris, car l’Éternel vous a livré la ville!
17 La ville sera dévouée à l’Éternel par interdit, elle et tout ce qui s’y trouve; mais on laissera la vie à Rahab la prostituée et à tous ceux qui seront avec elle dans la maison, parce qu’elle a caché les messagers que nous avions envoyés.
18 Gardez-vous seulement de ce qui sera dévoué par interdit; car si vous preniez de ce que vous aurez dévoué par interdit, vous mettriez le camp d’Israël en interdit et vous y jetteriez le trouble.
19 Tout l’argent et tout l’or, tous les objets d’airain et de fer, seront consacrés à l’Éternel, et entreront dans le trésor de l’Éternel.
20 Le peuple poussa des cris, et les sacrificateurs sonnèrent des trompettes. Lorsque le peuple entendit le son de la trompette, il poussa de grands cris, et la muraille s’écroula; le peuple monta dans la ville, chacun devant soi. Ils s’emparèrent de la ville,
21 et ils dévouèrent par interdit, au fil de l’épée, tout ce qui était dans la ville, hommes et femmes, enfants et vieillards, jusqu’aux boeufs, aux brebis et aux ânes.
22 Josué dit aux deux hommes qui avaient exploré le pays: Entrez dans la maison de la femme prostituée, et faites-en sortir cette femme et tous ceux qui lui appartiennent, comme vous le lui avez juré.
23 Les jeunes gens, les espions, entrèrent et firent sortir Rahab, son père, sa mère, ses frères, et tous ceux qui lui appartenaient; ils firent sortir tous les gens de sa famille, et ils les déposèrent hors du camp d’Israël.
24 Ils brûlèrent la ville et tout ce qui s’y trouvait; seulement ils mirent dans le trésor de la maison de l’Éternel l’argent, l’or et tous les objets d’airain et de fer.
25 Josué laissa la vie à Rahab la prostituée, à la maison de son père, et à tous ceux qui lui appartenaient; elle a habité au milieu d’Israël jusqu’à ce jour, parce qu’elle avait caché les messagers que Josué avait envoyés pour explorer Jéricho.
26 Ce fut alors que Josué jura, en disant: Maudit soit devant l’Éternel l’homme qui se lèvera pour rebâtir cette ville de Jéricho! Il en jettera les fondements au prix de son premier-né, et il en posera les portes au prix de son plus jeune fils.
27 L’Éternel fut avec Josué, dont la renommée se répandit dans tout le pays.

1 Now Jericho was straitly shut up because of the children of Israel: none went out, and none came in.
2 And the Lord said unto Joshua, See, I have given into thine hand Jericho, and the king thereof, and the mighty men of valour.
3 And ye shall compass the city, all ye men of war, and go round about the city once. Thus shalt thou do six days.
4 And seven priests shall bear before the ark seven trumpets of rams’ horns: and the seventh day ye shall compass the city seven times, and the priests shall blow with the trumpets.
5 And it shall come to pass, that when they make a long blast with the ram’s horn, and when ye hear the sound of the trumpet, all the people shall shout with a great shout; and the wall of the city shall fall down flat, and the people shall ascend up every man straight before him.
6 And Joshua the son of Nun called the priests, and said unto them, Take up the ark of the covenant, and let seven priests bear seven trumpets of rams’ horns before the ark of the Lord.
7 And he said unto the people, Pass on, and compass the city, and let him that is armed pass on before the ark of the Lord.
8 And it came to pass, when Joshua had spoken unto the people, that the seven priests bearing the seven trumpets of rams’ horns passed on before the Lord, and blew with the trumpets: and the ark of the covenant of the Lord followed them.
9 And the armed men went before the priests that blew with the trumpets, and the rereward came after the ark, the priests going on, and blowing with the trumpets.
10 And Joshua had commanded the people, saying, Ye shall not shout, nor make any noise with your voice, neither shall any word proceed out of your mouth, until the day I bid you shout; then shall ye shout.
11 So the ark of the Lord compassed the city, going about it once: and they came into the camp, and lodged in the camp.
12 And Joshua rose early in the morning, and the priests took up the ark of the Lord.
13 And seven priests bearing seven trumpets of rams’ horns before the ark of the Lord went on continually, and blew with the trumpets: and the armed men went before them; but the rereward came after the ark of the Lord, the priests going on, and blowing with the trumpets.
14 And the second day they compassed the city once, and returned into the camp: so they did six days.
15 And it came to pass on the seventh day, that they rose early about the dawning of the day, and compassed the city after the same manner seven times: only on that day they compassed the city seven times.
16 And it came to pass at the seventh time, when the priests blew with the trumpets, Joshua said unto the people, Shout; for the Lord hath given you the city.
17 And the city shall be accursed, even it, and all that are therein, to the Lord: only Rahab the harlot shall live, she and all that are with her in the house, because she hid the messengers that we sent.
18 And ye, in any wise keep yourselves from the accursed thing, lest ye make yourselves accursed, when ye take of the accursed thing, and make the camp of Israel a curse, and trouble it.
19 But all the silver, and gold, and vessels of brass and iron, are consecrated unto the Lord: they shall come into the treasury of the Lord.
20 So the people shouted when the priests blew with the trumpets: and it came to pass, when the people heard the sound of the trumpet, and the people shouted with a great shout, that the wall fell down flat, so that the people went up into the city, every man straight before him, and they took the city.
21 And they utterly destroyed all that was in the city, both man and woman, young and old, and ox, and sheep, and ass, with the edge of the sword.
22 But Joshua had said unto the two men that had spied out the country, Go into the harlot’s house, and bring out thence the woman, and all that she hath, as ye sware unto her.
23 And the young men that were spies went in, and brought out Rahab, and her father, and her mother, and her brethren, and all that she had; and they brought out all her kindred, and left them without the camp of Israel.
24 And they burnt the city with fire, and all that was therein: only the silver, and the gold, and the vessels of brass and of iron, they put into the treasury of the house of the Lord.
25 And Joshua saved Rahab the harlot alive, and her father’s household, and all that she had; and she dwelleth in Israel even unto this day; because she hid the messengers, which Joshua sent to spy out Jericho.
26 And Joshua adjured them at that time, saying, Cursed be the man before the Lord, that riseth up and buildeth this city Jericho: he shall lay the foundation thereof in his firstborn, and in his youngest son shall he set up the gates of it.
27 So the Lord was with Joshua; and his fame was noised throughout all the country.
