Deteronòm 4
1 Apre sa, Moyiz di pèp la: -Koulye a, nou menm pèp Izrayèl, se pou nou kenbe tout lòd ak tout prensip mwen te moutre nou yo. Se pou nou mache dapre lòd sa yo pou nou ka viv, pou nou ka antre nan peyi Seyè a, Bondye zansèt nou yo, ap ban nou an.
2 Piga nou mete, piga nou wete anyen sou sa mwen mande nou fè a. Se pou nou kenbe tout kòmandman Seyè a, Bondye nou an, jan mwen te moutre nou yo a.
3 Nou menm, nou te wè sa Seyè a te fè bò mòn Peyò a, lè li te touye tout moun nan mitan nou ki te al fè sèvis pou Baal sou mòn lan.
4 Men, nou menm ki pa t’ lage pye Seyè a, Bondye nou an, nou tout la byen vivan toujou.
5 Gade! Mwen te moutre nou tout lòd ak tout regleman, jan Seyè a, Bondye mwen an, te mande m’ fè l’ la, pou nou te ka viv dapre lòd sa yo nan peyi nou pral pran pou nou an.
6 Se pou nou kenbe yo, se pou nou fè tou sa yo mande nou fè ladan yo. Paske, se konsa n’a fè lòt nasyon yo wè jan nou gen konprann, jan nou gen lespri. Lè y’a rive tande pale tout lòd sa yo, y’a di: Ala yon gwo pèp, papa! Pèp sa a gen tan gen konprann, yo gen tan gen lespri!
7 Paske pa gen lòt nasyon, li te mèt gran kou l’ gran, ki gen yon Bondye toupre yo, yon Bondye k’ap kanpe la avèk yo, tankou Seyè a, Bondye nou an, fè l’ pou nou chak fwa nou rele l’.
8 Pa gen lòt nasyon, li te mèt gran kou l’ gran, ki gen bon lòd ak bon prensip pou regle tout bagay san patipri tankou lalwa mwen mete devan nou jòdi a.
9 Tansèlman, veye kò nou! Atansyon pou nou pa janm bliye bagay nou te wè ak pwòp je nou, pou nou pa janm wete yo nan lide nou pandan tout lavi nou. Okontrè, se pou nou moutre pitit nou ak pitit pitit nou yo tout bagay sa yo.
10 Pa bliye jou nou te kanpe sou mòn Orèb la, devan Seyè a, Bondye nou an. Lè sa a, li te di mwen: Sanble tout pèp la pou m’ ka fè yo tande pawòl mwen gen pou m’ di yo, pou yo aprann respekte m’ pandan tout lavi yo sou latè, lèfini pou yo moutre pitit yo fè menm bagay la tou.
11 N’a di yo ki jan nou te pwoche bò pye mòn lan. Lè sa a, gwo flanm dife t’ap soti sou mòn lan, yo t’ap moute byen wo nan syèl la.
12 Seyè a rete nan mitan dife a li pale ak nou. Se bri bouch li ase nou te tande ap pale.
13 Seyè a te fè nou konnen kontra li te pase ak nou an. Li mande nou pou nou kenbe l’. Li te ekri dis kòmandman yo sou de wòch plat yo, li mande pou nou swiv yo.
14 Lè sa a, Seyè a pase m’ lòd pou m’ moutre nou tout lwa ak tout prensip nou gen pou nou swiv nan peyi kote nou pral antre a, peyi nou pral pran pou nou an.
15 Veye kò nou, tande! Se pou byen nou wi! Lè Seyè a te pale ak nou nan mitan dife a, sou mòn Orèb la, nou pa t’ wè anyen ki ta sanble ak yon bagay.
16 Piga nou fè sa nou pa dwe fè. Piga n’ al fè ankenn zidòl pou nou adore, kit li gen fòm gason, osinon fòm fanm,
17 kit li gen fòm zannimo oswa fòm zwazo,
18 kit li gen fòm bèt k’ap trennen sou vant yo osinon fòm pwason.
19 Konsa tou, lè nou leve je nou nan syèl la, nou wè solèy la, lalin lan, zetwal yo ak tout lòt bagay ki anwo nan syèl la. Pa kite yo vire tèt nou pou nou fè sèvis pou yo. Pa al mete ajenou devan yo. Bondye mete yo la pou sèvis tout moun ki sou latè.
20 Kanta nou menm, Seyè a te pran nou, li fè nou soti kite peyi Lejip ki te pou nou tankou yon gwo fou dife kote yo fonn fè, epi li fè nou tounen sa nou ye koulye a: yon pèp ki rele l’ pa l’.
21 Men, Seyè a, Bondye nou an, te fache sou mwen poutèt nou. Li fè sèman li p’ap kite m’ janbe lòt bò larivyè Jouden an, ni li p’ap kite m’ mete pwent pye m’ nan bon peyi li menm, Seyè a, Bondye nou an, ap fè nou kado a.
22 Se konsa, mwen menm, m’ap mouri bò isit la, mwen p’ap janbe lòt bò larivyè Jouden an. Men, nou menm, n’ap janbe lòt bò larivyè a, nou pral pran bon peyi sa a pou nou.
23 Veye kò nou pou nou pa janm bliye kontra Seyè a, Bondye nou an, te pase ak nou an. Piga nou janm fè ankenn zidòl, ankenn pòtre bagay Seyè a, Bondye nou an, te defann nou fè.
24 Paske Seyè a, Bondye nou an, se yon Bondye ki fè jalouzi anpil, li tankou yon dife k’ap boule tout bagay kote l’ pase.
25 Lè n’a gen pitit ak pitit pitit, lè n’a fin vye granmoun nan peyi a, piga nou fè sa nou pa t’ dwe fè. Piga nou fè estati osinon pòtre ankenn bagay pou nou fè sèvis pou yo. Piga nou fè sa ki mal nan je Seyè a, Bondye nou an, pou nou fè l’ fache.
26 Si nou fè bagay konsa, men m’ap pran syèl la ak latè a pou temwen pou yo tande sa m’ap di nou jòdi a: N’ap rete konsa, n’ap disparèt nan peyi nou pral pran pou nou lòt bò larivyè Jouden an. Nou p’ap rete lontan nan peyi a, paske nou tout pral disparèt nèt.
27 Seyè a pral gaye nou toupatou nan mitan lòt nasyon yo. Se yon ti ponyen moun ase nan nou ki p’ap mouri nan peyi kote Seyè a pral mennen nou an.
28 Lè n’a rive nan peyi sa yo, nou pral fè sèvis pou bondye moun fè ak men yo, pou zidòl fèt an bwa, osinon an wòch, zidòl ki pa ka wè, ki pa ka tande, ki pa ka manje, ki pa ka pran sant anyen.
29 Men, lè sa a, n’a pran chache Seyè a, Bondye nou an. Si nou chache l’ ak tout kè nou, n’a jwenn li.
30 Men, lè n’a gen kè sere, lè tout bagay sa yo va rive nou vre, bout pou bout yon jou n’a tounen nan pye Seyè a, Bondye nou an. N’a koute tou sa l’ t’ap di nou an.
31 Paske Seyè a, Bondye nou an, se yon Bondye ki gen bon kè, li p’ap lage nou, ni li p’ap detwi nou. Li p’ap janm bliye kontra li menm li te pase ak zansèt nou yo, kontra li te fè sèman l’ap toujou kenbe a.
32 Chache konnen sa ki te pase nan tan lontan, nan tan ki te la anvan nou te fèt, depi lè Bondye te mete moun sou latè. Ale toupatou sou latè, mande si yon gwo bagay konsa te janm rive. Eske yo janm tande yon gwo koze tankou koze sa a?
33 Eske janm gen yon pèp ki te tande Bondye rete nan mitan dife pou pale ak yo, jan nou menm nou te tande l’ la, epi ki pa mouri apre sa?
34 Eske te janm gen yon bondye ki te penmèt li al chache yon pèp nan mitan yon lòt pèp pou fè li tounen pèp pa li, yon bondye ki te janm fè tout mirak ak tout bèl bagay sa yo, yon bondye ki te janm goumen tout goumen sa yo ak fòs ponyèt li, ak gwo kouraj li epi ki te fè anpil bagay pou fè moun tranble jan Seyè a, Bondye nou an, te fè l’ pou nou devan je nou nan peyi Lejip la?
35 Se nou menm sèl Seyè a te fè wè tou sa pou nou te ka konnen se Seyè a ki sèl Bondye tout bon an, pa gen lòt ankò.
36 Li rete nan syèl la, li fè nou tande vwa l’ pou l’ te ka moutre nou anpil bagay. Sou latè menm, li fè nou wè yon gwo dife, epi li rete nan mitan dife a, li pale ak nou.
37 Li te renmen zansèt nou yo, li te chwazi pitit pitit yo apre yo, kifè li te fè yo santi li la ak yo, li fè yo wè gwo pouvwa li, li fè yo soti kite peyi Lejip.
38 Lèfini, li fè yon bann nasyon ki pi gran, ki pi fò pase nou kouri mete deyò pou fè plas ban nou. Li fè nou antre nan peyi yo. Li ban nou yo pou yo rele nou pa nou, jan sa ye jouk jòdi a.
39 Bon. Koulye a, konprann sa byen. Pa janm bliye se Seyè a ki Bondye anwo nan syèl la ak isit la sou latè. Wi, se li menm, pa gen lòt.
40 Se pou nou swiv tout lòd ak tout kòmandman mwen ban nou jòdi a. Konsa, ni nou menm, ni tout pitit nou yo apre nou, n’a viv lontan ak kè kontan nan peyi Seyè a, Bondye nou an, ap ban nou pou rele nou pa nou pou tout tan.
41 Apre sa, Moyiz chwazi twa lavil lòt bò larivyè Jouden, sou bò solèy leve,
42 lavil kote moun gen dwa kouri al kache si li ta touye yon moun pèp Izrayèl parèy li san li pa fè espre, san li pa janm gen anyen avè l’. Li gen dwa al kache kò l’ nan yonn nan lavil sa yo pou yo pa touye l’.
43 Pou moun branch fanmi Woubenn yo, se te lavil Bezè nan dezè ki anwo sou platon an. Pou moun branch fanmi Gad yo, se te lavil Ramòt nan zòn Galarad la. Pou moun fanmi Manase yo, se te lavil Golan nan peyi Bazan.
44 Men lalwa Moyiz te mete devan moun pèp Izrayèl yo.
45 Men kòmandman, lòd ak prensip Moyiz te ba yo apre yo te fin soti kite peyi Lejip.
46 Lè sa a, yo te deja rive lòt bò larivyè Jouden, sou bò solèy leve, nan fon ki anfas Bètpeyò a, nan peyi wa Siyon an. Siyon sa a te wa peyi Amori a, li te rete lavil Esbon. Men, Moyiz ak moun pèp Izrayèl yo te bat li apre yo te fin soti kite peyi Lejip la.
47 Yo pran peyi a nan men l’. Yo fè menm bagay la tou nan peyi Bazan, kote wa Og t’ap gouvènen an. De wa peyi Amori sa yo t’ap viv lòt bò larivyè Jouden, sou bò solèy leve.
48 Peyi yo te pran an te konmanse depi lavil Awoyè ki sou tèt falèz toupre larivyè Anon an, li rive jouk mòn Siryon. Yo rele mòn sa a mòn Emon tou.
49 Yo te pran tou tout zòn Araba a, ki sou bò solèy leve larivyè Jouden an, rive lanmè Mouri a nan pye mòn Pisga.

Deuteronome 4
1 Maintenant, Israël, écoute les lois et les ordonnances que je vous enseigne. Mettez-les en pratique, afin que vous viviez, et que vous entriez en possession du pays que vous donne l’Éternel, le Dieu de vos pères.
2 Vous n’ajouterez rien à ce que je vous prescris, et vous n’en retrancherez rien; mais vous observerez les commandements de l’Éternel, votre Dieu, tels que je vous les prescris.
3 Vos yeux ont vu ce que l’Éternel a fait à l’occasion de Baal Peor: l’Éternel, ton Dieu, a détruit du milieu de toi tous ceux qui étaient allés après Baal Peor.
4 Et vous, qui vous êtes attachés à l’Éternel, votre Dieu, vous êtes aujourd’hui tous vivants.
5 Voici, je vous ai enseigné des lois et des ordonnances, comme l’Éternel, mon Dieu, me l’a commandé, afin que vous les mettiez en pratique dans le pays dont vous allez prendre possession.
6 Vous les observerez et vous les mettrez en pratique; car ce sera là votre sagesse et votre intelligence aux yeux des peuples, qui entendront parler de toutes ces lois et qui diront: Cette grande nation est un peuple absolument sage et intelligent!
7 Quelle est, en effet, la grande nation qui ait des dieux aussi proches que l’Éternel, notre Dieu, l’est de nous toutes les fois que nous l’invoquons?
8 Et quelle est la grande nation qui ait des lois et des ordonnances justes, comme toute cette loi que je vous présente aujourd’hui?
9 Seulement, prends garde à toi et veille attentivement sur ton âme, tous les jours de ta vie, de peur que tu n’oublies les choses que tes yeux ont vues, et qu’elles ne sortent de ton coeur; enseigne-les à tes enfants et aux enfants de tes enfants.
10 Souviens-toi du jour où tu te présentas devant l’Éternel, ton Dieu, à Horeb, lorsque l’Éternel me dit: Assemble auprès de moi le peuple! Je veux leur faire entendre mes paroles, afin qu’ils apprennent à me craindre tout le temps qu’ils vivront sur la terre; et afin qu’ils les enseignent à leurs enfants.
11 Vous vous approchâtes et vous vous tîntes au pied de la montagne. La montagne était embrasée, et les flammes s’élevaient jusqu’au milieu du ciel. Il y avait des ténèbres, des nuées, de l’obscurité.
12 Et l’Éternel vous parla du milieu du feu; vous entendîtes le son des paroles, mais vous ne vîtes point de figure, vous n’entendîtes qu’une voix.
13 Il publia son alliance, qu’il vous ordonna d’observer, les dix commandements; et il les écrivit sur deux tables de pierre.
14 En ce temps-là, l’Éternel me commanda de vous enseigner des lois et des ordonnances, afin que vous les mettiez en pratique dans le pays dont vous allez prendre possession.
15 Puisque vous n’avez vu aucune figure le jour où l’Éternel vous parla du milieu du feu, à Horeb, veillez attentivement sur vos âmes,
16 de peur que vous ne vous corrompiez et que vous ne vous fassiez une image taillée, une représentation de quelque idole, la figure d’un homme ou d’une femme,
17 la figure d’un animal qui soit sur la terre, la figure d’un oiseau qui vole dans les cieux,
18 la figure d’une bête qui rampe sur le sol, la figure d’un poisson qui vive dans les eaux au-dessous de la terre.
19 Veille sur ton âme, de peur que, levant tes yeux vers le ciel, et voyant le soleil, la lune et les étoiles, toute l’armée des cieux, tu ne sois entraîné à te prosterner en leur présence et à leur rendre un culte: ce sont des choses que l’Éternel, ton Dieu, a données en partage à tous les peuples, sous le ciel tout entier.
20 Mais vous, l’Éternel vous a pris, et vous a fait sortir de la fournaise de fer de l’Égypte, afin que vous fussiez un peuple qui lui appartînt en propre, comme vous l’êtes aujourd’hui.
21 Et l’Éternel s’irrita contre moi, à cause de vous; et il jura que je ne passerais point le Jourdain, et que je n’entrerais point dans le bon pays que l’Éternel, ton Dieu, te donne en héritage.
22 Je mourrai donc en ce pays-ci, je ne passerai point le Jourdain; mais vous le passerez, et vous posséderez ce bon pays.
23 Veillez sur vous, afin de ne point mettre en oubli l’alliance que l’Éternel, votre Dieu, a traitée avec vous, et de ne point vous faire d’image taillée, de représentation quelconque, que l’Éternel, ton Dieu, t’ait défendue.
24 Car l’Éternel, ton Dieu, est un feu dévorant, un Dieu jaloux.
25 Lorsque tu auras des enfants, et des enfants de tes enfants, et que vous serez depuis longtemps dans le pays, si vous vous corrompez, si vous faites des images taillées, des représentations de quoi que ce soit, si vous faites ce qui est mal aux yeux de l’Éternel, votre Dieu, pour l’irriter, –
26 j’en prends aujourd’hui à témoin contre vous le ciel et la terre, -vous disparaîtrez par une mort rapide du pays dont vous allez prendre possession au delà du Jourdain, vous n’y prolongerez pas vos jours, car vous serez entièrement détruits.
27 L’Éternel vous dispersera parmi les peuples, et vous ne resterez qu’un petit nombre au milieu des nations où l’Éternel vous emmènera.
28 Et là, vous servirez des dieux, ouvrage de mains d’homme, du bois et de la pierre, qui ne peuvent ni voir, ni entendre, ni manger, ni sentir.
29 C’est de là aussi que tu chercheras l’Éternel, ton Dieu, et que tu le trouveras, si tu le cherches de tout ton coeur et de toute ton âme.
30 Au sein de ta détresse, toutes ces choses t’arriveront. Alors, dans la suite des temps, tu retourneras à l’Éternel, ton Dieu, et tu écouteras sa voix;
31 car l’Éternel, ton Dieu, est un Dieu de miséricorde, qui ne t’abandonnera point et ne te détruira point: il n’oubliera pas l’alliance de tes pères, qu’il leur a jurée.
32 Interroge les temps anciens qui t’ont précédé, depuis le jour où Dieu créa l’homme sur la terre, et d’une extrémité du ciel à l’autre: y eut-il jamais si grand événement, et a-t-on jamais ouï chose semblable?
33 Fut-il jamais un peuple qui entendît la voix de Dieu parlant du milieu du feu, comme tu l’as entendue, et qui soit demeuré vivant?
34 Fut-il jamais un dieu qui essayât de venir prendre à lui une nation du milieu d’une nation, par des épreuves, des signes, des miracles et des combats, à main forte et à bras étendu, et avec des prodiges de terreur, comme l’a fait pour vous l’Éternel, votre Dieu, en Égypte et sous vos yeux?
35 Tu as été rendu témoin de ces choses, afin que tu reconnusses que l’Éternel est Dieu, qu’il n’y en a point d’autre.
36 Du ciel, il t’a fait entendre sa voix pour t’instruire; et, sur la terre, il t’a fait voir son grand feu, et tu as entendu ses paroles du milieu du feu.
37 Il a aimé tes pères, et il a choisi leur postérité après eux; il t’a fait lui-même sortir d’Égypte par sa grande puissance;
38 il a chassé devant toi des nations supérieures en nombre et en force, pour te faire entrer dans leur pays, pour t’en donner la possession, comme tu le vois aujourd’hui.
39 Sache donc en ce jour, et retiens dans ton coeur que l’Éternel est Dieu, en haut dans le ciel et en bas sur la terre, et qu’il n’y en a point d’autre.
40 Et observe ses lois et ses commandements que je te prescris aujourd’hui, afin que tu sois heureux, toi et tes enfants après toi, et que tu prolonges désormais tes jours dans le pays que l’Éternel, ton Dieu, te donne.
41 Alors Moïse choisit trois villes de l’autre côté du Jourdain, à l’orient,
42 afin qu’elles servissent de refuge au meurtrier qui aurait involontairement tué son prochain, sans avoir été auparavant son ennemi, et afin qu’il pût sauver sa vie en s’enfuyant dans l’une de ces villes.
43 C’étaient: Betser, dans le désert, dans la plaine, chez les Rubénites; Ramoth, en Galaad, chez les Gadites, et Golan, en Basan, chez les Manassites.
44 C’est ici la loi que présenta Moïse aux enfants d’Israël.
45 Voici les préceptes, les lois et les ordonnances que Moïse prescrivit aux enfants d’Israël, après leur sortie d’Égypte.
46 C’était de l’autre côté du Jourdain, dans la vallée, vis-à-vis de Beth Peor, au pays de Sihon, roi des Amoréens, qui habitait à Hesbon, et qui fut battu par Moïse et les enfants d’Israël, après leur sortie d’Égypte.
47 Ils s’emparèrent de son pays et de celui d’Og, roi de Basan. Ces deux rois des Amoréens étaient de l’autre côté du Jourdain, à l’orient.
48 Leur territoire s’étendait depuis Aroër sur les bords du torrent de l’Arnon jusqu’à la montagne de Sion qui est l’Hermon,
49 et il embrassait toute la plaine de l’autre côté du Jourdain, à l’orient, jusqu’à la mer de la plaine, au pied du Pisga.

Deuteronomy 4
1 Now therefore hearken, O Israel, unto the statutes and unto the judgments, which I teach you, for to do them, that ye may live, and go in and possess the land which the Lord God of your fathers giveth you.
2 Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you.
3 Your eyes have seen what the Lord did because of Baalpeor: for all the men that followed Baalpeor, the Lord thy God hath destroyed them from among you.
4 But ye that did cleave unto the Lord your God are alive every one of you this day.
5 Behold, I have taught you statutes and judgments, even as the Lord my God commanded me, that ye should do so in the land whither ye go to possess it.
6 Keep therefore and do them; for this is your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the nations, which shall hear all these statutes, and say, Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people.
7 For what nation is there so great, who hath God so nigh unto them, as the Lord our God is in all things that we call upon him for?
8 And what nation is there so great, that hath statutes and judgments so righteous as all this law, which I set before you this day?
9 Only take heed to thyself, and keep thy soul diligently, lest thou forget the things which thine eyes have seen, and lest they depart from thy heart all the days of thy life: but teach them thy sons, and thy sons’ sons;
10 Specially the day that thou stoodest before the Lord thy God in Horeb, when the Lord said unto me, Gather me the people together, and I will make them hear my words, that they may learn to fear me all the days that they shall live upon the earth, and that they may teach their children.
11 And ye came near and stood under the mountain; and the mountain burned with fire unto the midst of heaven, with darkness, clouds, and thick darkness.
12 And the Lord spake unto you out of the midst of the fire: ye heard the voice of the words, but saw no similitude; only ye heard a voice.
13 And he declared unto you his covenant, which he commanded you to perform, even ten commandments; and he wrote them upon two tables of stone.
14 And the Lord commanded me at that time to teach you statutes and judgments, that ye might do them in the land whither ye go over to possess it.
15 Take ye therefore good heed unto yourselves; for ye saw no manner of similitude on the day that the Lord spake unto you in Horeb out of the midst of the fire:
16 Lest ye corrupt yourselves, and make you a graven image, the similitude of any figure, the likeness of male or female,
17 The likeness of any beast that is on the earth, the likeness of any winged fowl that flieth in the air,
18 The likeness of any thing that creepeth on the ground, the likeness of any fish that is in the waters beneath the earth:
19 And lest thou lift up thine eyes unto heaven, and when thou seest the sun, and the moon, and the stars, even all the host of heaven, shouldest be driven to worship them, and serve them, which the Lord thy God hath divided unto all nations under the whole heaven.
20 But the Lord hath taken you, and brought you forth out of the iron furnace, even out of Egypt, to be unto him a people of inheritance, as ye are this day.
21 Furthermore the Lord was angry with me for your sakes, and sware that I should not go over Jordan, and that I should not go in unto that good land, which the Lord thy God giveth thee for an inheritance:
22 But I must die in this land, I must not go over Jordan: but ye shall go over, and possess that good land.
23 Take heed unto yourselves, lest ye forget the covenant of the Lord your God, which he made with you, and make you a graven image, or the likeness of any thing, which the Lord thy God hath forbidden thee.
24 For the Lord thy God is a consuming fire, even a jealous God.
25 When thou shalt beget children, and children’s children, and ye shall have remained long in the land, and shall corrupt yourselves, and make a graven image, or the likeness of any thing, and shall do evil in the sight of the Lord thy God, to provoke him to anger:
26 I call heaven and earth to witness against you this day, that ye shall soon utterly perish from off the land whereunto ye go over Jordan to possess it; ye shall not prolong your days upon it, but shall utterly be destroyed.
27 And the Lord shall scatter you among the nations, and ye shall be left few in number among the heathen, whither the Lord shall lead you.
28 And there ye shall serve gods, the work of men’s hands, wood and stone, which neither see, nor hear, nor eat, nor smell.
29 But if from thence thou shalt seek the Lord thy God, thou shalt find him, if thou seek him with all thy heart and with all thy soul.
30 When thou art in tribulation, and all these things are come upon thee, even in the latter days, if thou turn to the Lord thy God, and shalt be obedient unto his voice;
31 (For the Lord thy God is a merciful God;) he will not forsake thee, neither destroy thee, nor forget the covenant of thy fathers which he sware unto them.
32 For ask now of the days that are past, which were before thee, since the day that God created man upon the earth, and ask from the one side of heaven unto the other, whether there hath been any such thing as this great thing is, or hath been heard like it?
33 Did ever people hear the voice of God speaking out of the midst of the fire, as thou hast heard, and live?
34 Or hath God assayed to go and take him a nation from the midst of another nation, by temptations, by signs, and by wonders, and by war, and by a mighty hand, and by a stretched out arm, and by great terrors, according to all that the Lord your God did for you in Egypt before your eyes?
35 Unto thee it was shewed, that thou mightest know that the Lord he is God; there is none else beside him.
36 Out of heaven he made thee to hear his voice, that he might instruct thee: and upon earth he shewed thee his great fire; and thou heardest his words out of the midst of the fire.
37 And because he loved thy fathers, therefore he chose their seed after them, and brought thee out in his sight with his mighty power out of Egypt;
38 To drive out nations from before thee greater and mightier than thou art, to bring thee in, to give thee their land for an inheritance, as it is this day.
39 Know therefore this day, and consider it in thine heart, that the Lord he is God in heaven above, and upon the earth beneath: there is none else.
40 Thou shalt keep therefore his statutes, and his commandments, which I command thee this day, that it may go well with thee, and with thy children after thee, and that thou mayest prolong thy days upon the earth, which the Lord thy God giveth thee, for ever.
41 Then Moses severed three cities on this side Jordan toward the sunrising;
42 That the slayer might flee thither, which should kill his neighbour unawares, and hated him not in times past; and that fleeing unto one of these cities he might live:
43 Namely, Bezer in the wilderness, in the plain country, of the Reubenites; and Ramoth in Gilead, of the Gadites; and Golan in Bashan, of the Manassites.
44 And this is the law which Moses set before the children of Israel:
45 These are the testimonies, and the statutes, and the judgments, which Moses spake unto the children of Israel, after they came forth out of Egypt.
46 On this side Jordan, in the valley over against Bethpeor, in the land of Sihon king of the Amorites, who dwelt at Heshbon, whom Moses and the children of Israel smote, after they were come forth out of Egypt:
47 And they possessed his land, and the land of Og king of Bashan, two kings of the Amorites, which were on this side Jordan toward the sunrising;
48 From Aroer, which is by the bank of the river Arnon, even unto mount Sion, which is Hermon,
49 And all the plain on this side Jordan eastward, even unto the sea of the plain, under the springs of Pisgah.
