Ezekyel 17
1 Seyè a pale avè m’ ankò, li di m’ konsa:
2 -Nonm o! Bay moun pèp Izrayèl yo yon pawoli. Rakonte yo yon parabòl.
3 Di yo men mesaj Seyè sèl Mèt la voye ba yo: Vwala, se te yon gwo gwo malfini ak zèl li yo byen laj. Plim li yo te long epi yo te tout kalite koulè. Li vole li ale nan peyi Liban, li kase tèt yon pye sèd.
4 Li pran l’, li pote l’ ale nan yon peyi kote moun se trafik ase y’ap fè la. Li mete l’ nan yon lavil kote se kòmèsan ase ki rete la.
5 Lèfini, li pran yon ti plan nan peyi Izrayèl la, li plante l’ nan yon bon venn tè, toupre yon larivyè ki toujou plen dlo, pou l’ ka grandi tankou yon pye sikren.
6 Ti plan an pran, li fè yon bèl pye rezen ki pa twò wo. Branch li yo grandi, yo moute nan direksyon malfini an, men rasin li yo menm desann fon anba tè. Li bay yon bèl pye rezen ak anpil branch plen fèy.
7 Te vin gen yon lòt gwo malfini ak gwo zèl byen laj ak anpil plim sou li. Lè sa a, pye rezen an pouse rasin nan direksyon malfini sa a. Li vire tout branch li yo nan direksyon l’ tou. Li te konprann malfini sa a tapral wouze l’ pi byen pase jaden kote l’ te plante a.
8 Men, pye rezen an te deja plante nan yon bon venn tè, kote yon kannal ki toujou gen dlo, pou l’ te ka fè fèy, pou l’ te ka donnen, pou li te ka rive fè yon bèl pye rezen.
9 Di yo men mesaj Seyè sèl Mèt la voye ba yo: Eske pye rezen an ap grandi vre? Eske premye malfini an p’ap dechouke l’, rache tout grap rezen l’ yo, kase tout branch li yo pou yo mouri? Li p’ap bezwen anpil fòs ni yon lame moun pou l’ dechouke l’.
10 Wi, yo te plante l’. Men, èske l’ap grandi? Eske li p’ap mouri lè van lès la va soufle sou li? Eske li p’ap mouri lamenm kote li t’ap pouse a?
11 Seyè a pale avè m’, li di m’ konsa:
12 -Pale ak bann moun tèt di sa yo. Mande yo si yo konprann sans parabòl la. Di yo konsa: Wa lavil Babilòn lan te vini lavil Jerizalèm, li pran wa a ansanm ak tout chèf li yo, li mennen yo ansanm avè l’ lavil Babilòn.
13 Li pran yon moun nan fanmi wa a, li pase kontra avè l’, li fè l’ sèmante pou l’ toujou soumèt devan li. Li pran tout grannèg ki nan peyi a, li fè yo prizonye, li depòte yo.
14 Konsa, li sèten peyi a va rete tou piti anba men l’, yo p’ap ka leve tèt devan li, y’a toujou kenbe kontra li te pase ak yo a.
15 Men, wa peyi Jida a revòlte. Li voye mesaje nan peyi Lejip al chache chwal ak anpil sòlda. Eske l’ap rive fè sa li vle fè a? Eske li ka soti nan sitiyasyon kote l’ ye a? Depi li kase kontra a, fòk li peye l’.
16 Se mwen menm, Seyè sèl Mèt la, k’ap pale: Jan nou konnen mwen vivan vre a, wa a pral lavil Babilòn, paske li te kase kontra a, li pa t’ respekte kondisyon li te pase ak wa lavil Babilòn lan ki te mete l’ la pou gouvènen peyi a.
17 Farawon an te mèt vini ak yon gwo lame ansanm ak anpil sòlda, li p’ap ka ede l’ goumen nan lagè a, lè moun Babilòn yo va vin moute ranblè ak fouye gwo kannal pou yo touye moun san gad dèyè.
18 Wa peyi Izrayèl la pa respekte pawòl li, li kase kontra a. Malgre angajman li te pran yo, li fè tout bagay sa yo. Sa p’ap pase konsa pou li.
19 Se poutèt sa, men sa Seyè Sèl Mèt la di: Jan nou konnen mwen vivan vre a, ou pa respekte pawòl ou avè m’. Ou pa kenbe kontra mwen te pase avè ou la. Mwen gen pou m’ pini ou pou sa.
20 M’ap voye privye m’ sou ou, w’ap pran nan may yo, m’ap trennen ou lavil Babilòn. Se la m’ap pini ou pou kenbe ou pa te kenbe pawòl ou avè m’.
21 Tout pi bon sòlda li yo pral mouri nan lagè. Sa ki chape yo, yo pral gaye yo toupatou sou latè. Lè sa a, n’a konnen se mwen menm, Seyè a, ki pale.
22 Men sa Seyè sèl Mèt la di: -M’ap koupe boujon tèt yon pye sèd ki byen wo. M’ap kase yon jenn ti boujon nan branch ki pi wo yo. M’ap plante l’ sou tèt yon mòn byen wo,
23 sou tèt mòn ki pi wo nan peyi Izrayèl la. L’ap fè branch, l’ap donnen. L’ap vin fè yon bèl bèl pye sèd. Tout kalite zwezo pral rete ladan l’. Y’ap pare solèy nan lonbraj branch li yo.
24 Tout pyebwa nan peyi a va konnen se mwen menm ki Seyè a. Mwen koupe gwo pyebwa yo mete atè. Ti pyebwa piti yo, m’ap fè yo grandi. Mwen cheche pyebwa ki vèt yo. Pyebwa ki fin mouri yo, mwen fè yo boujonnen ankò. Se mwen menm Seyè a ki pale. Sa mwen di m’ap fè a, m’ap fè l’.

1 La parole de l’Éternel me fut adressée, en ces mots:
2 Fils de l’homme, propose une énigme, dis une parabole à la maison d’Israël!
3 Tu diras: Ainsi parle le Seigneur, l’Éternel: Un grand aigle, aux longues ailes, aux ailes déployées, couvert de plumes de toutes couleurs, vint sur le Liban, et enleva la cime d’un cèdre.
4 Il arracha le plus élevé de ses rameaux, l’emporta dans un pays de commerce, et le déposa dans une ville de marchands.
5 Et il prit un rejeton du pays, et le plaça dans un sol fertile; il le mit près d’une eau abondante, et le planta comme un saule.
6 Ce rejeton poussa, et devint un cep de vigne étendu, mais de peu d’élévation; ses rameaux étaient tournés vers l’aigle, et ses racines étaient sous lui; il devint un cep de vigne, donna des jets, et produisit des branches.
7 Il y avait un autre aigle, grand, aux longues ailes, au plumage épais. Et voici, du parterre où elle était plantée, cette vigne étendit avec avidité ses racines de son côté et dirigea ses rameaux vers lui, afin qu’il l’arrosât.
8 Elle était plantée dans un bon terrain, près d’une eau abondante, de manière à produire des branches et à porter du fruit, à devenir une vigne magnifique.
9 Dis: Ainsi parle le Seigneur, l’Éternel: Prospérera-t-elle? Le premier aigle n’arrachera-t-il pas ses racines, n’enlèvera-t-il pas son fruit, afin qu’elle se dessèche, afin que toutes les feuilles qu’elle a poussées se dessèchent? Et il ne faudra ni beaucoup de force ni un peuple nombreux pour la séparer de ses racines.
10 Voici, elle est plantée: prospérera-t-elle? Si le vent d’orient la touche, ne séchera-t-elle pas? Elle séchera sur le parterre où elle a poussé.
11 La parole de l’Éternel me fut adressée, en ces mots:
12 Dis à la maison rebelle: Ne savez-vous pas ce que cela signifie? Dis: Voici, le roi de Babylone est allé à Jérusalem, il en a pris le roi et les chefs, et les a emmenés avec lui à Babylone.
13 Il a choisi un membre de la race royale, a traité alliance avec lui, et lui a fait prêter serment, et il a emmené les grands du pays,
14 afin que le royaume fût tenu dans l’abaissement, sans pouvoir s’élever, et qu’il gardât son alliance en y demeurant fidèle.
15 Mais il s’est révolté contre lui, en envoyant ses messagers en Égypte, pour qu’elle lui donnât des chevaux et un grand nombre d’hommes. Celui qui a fait de telles choses réussira-t-il, échappera-t-il? Il a rompu l’alliance, et il échapperait!
16 Je suis vivant! dit le Seigneur, l’Éternel, c’est dans le pays du roi qui l’a fait régner, envers qui il a violé son serment et dont il a rompu l’alliance, c’est près de lui, au milieu de Babylone, qu’il mourra.
17 Pharaon n’ira pas avec une grande armée et un peuple nombreux le secourir pendant la guerre, lorsqu’on élèvera des terrasses et qu’on fera des retranchements pour exterminer une multitude d’âmes.
18 Il a méprisé le serment, il a rompu l’alliance; il avait donné sa main, et il a fait tout cela; il n’échappera pas!
19 C’est pourquoi ainsi parle le Seigneur, l’Éternel: Je suis vivant! c’est le serment fait en mon nom qu’il a méprisé, c’est mon alliance qu’il a rompue. Je ferai retomber cela sur sa tête.
20 J’étendrai mon rets sur lui, et il sera pris dans mon filet; je l’emmènerai à Babylone, et là je plaiderai avec lui sur sa perfidie à mon égard.
21 Tous les fuyards de toutes ses troupes tomberont par l’épée, et ceux qui resteront seront dispersés à tous les vents. Et vous saurez que moi, l’Éternel, j’ai parlé.
22 Ainsi parle le Seigneur, l’Éternel: J’enlèverai, moi, la cime d’un grand cèdre, et je la placerai; j’arracherai du sommet de ses branches un tendre rameau, et je le planterai sur une montagne haute et élevée.
23 Je le planterai sur une haute montagne d’Israël; il produira des branches et portera du fruit, il deviendra un cèdre magnifique. Les oiseaux de toute espèce reposeront sous lui, tout ce qui a des ailes reposera sous l’ombre de ses rameaux.
24 Et tous les arbres des champs sauront que moi, l’Éternel, j’ai abaissé l’arbre qui s’élevait et élevé l’arbre qui était abaissé, que j’ai desséché l’arbre vert et fait verdir l’arbre sec. Moi, l’Éternel, j’ai parlé, et j’agirai.

1 And the word of the Lord came unto me, saying,
2 Son of man, put forth a riddle, and speak a parable unto the house of Israel;
3 And say, Thus saith the Lord God; A great eagle with great wings, longwinged, full of feathers, which had divers colours, came unto Lebanon, and took the highest branch of the cedar:
4 He cropped off the top of his young twigs, and carried it into a land of traffick; he set it in a city of merchants.
5 He took also of the seed of the land, and planted it in a fruitful field; he placed it by great waters, and set it as a willow tree.
6 And it grew, and became a spreading vine of low stature, whose branches turned toward him, and the roots thereof were under him: so it became a vine, and brought forth branches, and shot forth sprigs.
7 There was also another great eagle with great wings and many feathers: and, behold, this vine did bend her roots toward him, and shot forth her branches toward him, that he might water it by the furrows of her plantation.
8 It was planted in a good soil by great waters, that it might bring forth branches, and that it might bear fruit, that it might be a goodly vine.
9 Say thou, Thus saith the Lord God; Shall it prosper? shall he not pull up the roots thereof, and cut off the fruit thereof, that it wither? it shall wither in all the leaves of her spring, even without great power or many people to pluck it up by the roots thereof.
10 Yea, behold, being planted, shall it prosper? shall it not utterly wither, when the east wind toucheth it? it shall wither in the furrows where it grew.
11 Moreover the word of the Lord came unto me, saying,
12 Say now to the rebellious house, Know ye not what these things mean? tell them, Behold, the king of Babylon is come to Jerusalem, and hath taken the king thereof, and the princes thereof, and led them with him to Babylon;
13 And hath taken of the king’s seed, and made a covenant with him, and hath taken an oath of him: he hath also taken the mighty of the land:
14 That the kingdom might be base, that it might not lift itself up, but that by keeping of his covenant it might stand.
15 But he rebelled against him in sending his ambassadors into Egypt, that they might give him horses and much people. Shall he prosper? shall he escape that doeth such things? or shall he break the covenant, and be delivered?
16 As I live, saith the Lord God, surely in the place where the king dwelleth that made him king, whose oath he despised, and whose covenant he brake, even with him in the midst of Babylon he shall die.
17 Neither shall Pharaoh with his mighty army and great company make for him in the war, by casting up mounts, and building forts, to cut off many persons:
18 Seeing he despised the oath by breaking the covenant, when, lo, he had given his hand, and hath done all these things, he shall not escape.
19 Therefore thus saith the Lord God; As I live, surely mine oath that he hath despised, and my covenant that he hath broken, even it will I recompense upon his own head.
20 And I will spread my net upon him, and he shall be taken in my snare, and I will bring him to Babylon, and will plead with him there for his trespass that he hath trespassed against me.
21 And all his fugitives with all his bands shall fall by the sword, and they that remain shall be scattered toward all winds: and ye shall know that I the Lord have spoken it.
22 Thus saith the Lord God; I will also take of the highest branch of the high cedar, and will set it; I will crop off from the top of his young twigs a tender one, and will plant it upon an high mountain and eminent:
23 In the mountain of the height of Israel will I plant it: and it shall bring forth boughs, and bear fruit, and be a goodly cedar: and under it shall dwell all fowl of every wing; in the shadow of the branches thereof shall they dwell.
24 And all the trees of the field shall know that I the Lord have brought down the high tree, have exalted the low tree, have dried up the green tree, and have made the dry tree to flourish: I the Lord have spoken and have done it.
