1 De zanj Bondye yo rive Sodòm nan aswè. Lòt te chita bò pòtay lavil la. Wè li wè yo, li leve, li al kontre yo. Li bese tèt li jouk atè pou l’ di yo bonjou.
2 Li di. Mesye, mwen la pou m’ sèvi nou. Tanpri, vin lakay mwen. n’a ka lave pye nou, n’a pase nwit la la. Denmen maten, n’a leve, n’a reprann wout nou. Mesye yo reponn. Non. Nou pral pase nwit la sou laplas la.
3 Men Lòt te fòse yo sitèlman, y’ al lakay li avè l’. Lòt pare yon bon manje pou yo, li fè pen san ledven. Epi yo manje.
4  Yo pa t’ ankò kouche, lè mesye lavil Sodòm yo, jenn gason kou vye tonton, sènen kay la. tout gason nan lavil la te kouri vini.
5 Yo rele Lòt, yo di l’ konsa. Kote mesye ki vin pase nwit lakay ou aswè a? Fè yo soti vin jwenn nou pou nou kouche ak yo?
6 Lòt soti al jwenn yo nan papòt la. Li fèmen pòt la dèyè do l’,
7 li di yo konsa Tanpri, mezanmi. Pa fè bagay sal sa a.
8 Gade, mwen gen de pitit fi ki tifi toujou, m’ap mennen yo ban nou. Nou mèt fè sa nou vle avèk yo. Men, pa fè mesye sa yo anyen, paske mwen resevwa yo lakay mwen, mwen fèt pou m’ pwoteje yo.
9 Men, yo di. Wete kò ou la. Se moun vini ou ye! Kisa ou ye atò pou ou vin di nou sa pou nou fè. Sispann fè radòt la a, anvan nou pa fè ou pi mal pase yo. Sa ou tande a, yo bourade Lòt, epi yo pwoche pou yo defonse pòt la.
10 Men, de mesye yo ki te anndan an lonje men yo, yo rale Lòt antre anndan, epi yo fèmen pòt la.
11 Lèfini, yo vegle tout mesye ki te devan pòt kay la, depi pi piti a jouk pi gran an. Se konsa mesye yo t’ap vire tounen adwat agoch, yo pa t’ kapab jwenn kote pòt kay la te ye.
12  De mesye yo pale ak Lòt, yo di l’ konsa. Ki moun ankò ou gen nan lavil la? Pran bofi ou yo, pitit gason ou yo, ak pitit fi ou yo ansanm ak tout bagay ou gen nan lavil la, mete kò ou deyò.
13 Nou pral detwi tout bò isit la. Seyè a te tande tout sa yo t’ap di sou moun lavil sa a. Li voye nou detwi l’.
14 Lòt soti, li al jwenn mari pitit fi li yo, li di yo. Leve non, fè vit, ann met deyò. Seyè a pral detwi lavil la. Men bofi li yo te kwè se jwe li t’ap jwe.
15  Kou jou pral kase, zanj Bondye yo leve Lòt pou l’ fè vit. Yo di l’. Fè vit non, monchè! Pran madanm ou ak de pitit fi ou yo, met deyò. Si se pa sa, n’ap mouri tout lè Bondye ap pini lavil la.
16 Lè yo wè Lòt t’ap kalbende, yo pran men li, yo pran men madanm li ansanm ak de pitit fi li yo, yo mennen yo andeyò lavil la, yo lage yo. Yo te fè sa, paske Seyè a te gen pitye pou Lòt.
17 Apre zanj yo te fin fè yo soti nan lavil la, yo di l’. Sove poul ou, si ou pa vle mouri. Pa gad dèyè. Pa rete menm nan plenn lan. Kouri al nan mòn yo pou ou pa pase tou.
18 Men, Lòt reponn li. O! Non, Mèt. Tanpri, pa mande m’ tout sa.
19 Gade, ou deja fè m’ yon gwo favè. Ou moutre m’ jan ou gen pitye anpil pou mwen. Ou sove lavi m’. Men, mòn lan twò lwen. m’a mouri anvan m’ rive, malè a va gen tan rive sou mwen.
20 Gade: ou wè ti bouk sa a? Li toupre. m’a gen tan rive la pou m’ kache kò mwen. Tanpri, kite m’ ale la. Ou wè se yon ti kote ki tout piti. Konsa m’a sove lavi m’.
21 Zanj lan di l’. Dakò, Mwen fè ou favè sa a ankò: mwen p’ap detwi ti bouk w’ap pale m’ lan.
22 Kouri vit ale. Mwen p’ap ka fè anyen toutotan ou poko rive la. Se poutèt sa yo rele ti bouk la Zoa.
23 Solèy te fèk ap leve lè Lòt rive Zoa.
24  Lè sa a, Seyè a fè yon sèl lapli souf ak dife soti nan syèl la tonbe sou Sodòm ak Gomò. Wi, se Seyè a menm ki te fè sa.
25 Li detwi de lavil sa yo ak tout plenn lan ansanm ak tout moun ki te rete nan lavil yo ak tout plant ki t’ap pouse nan tè a.
26  Men, madan Lòt vire gade dèyè. Lamenm li tounen yon gwo estati sèl.
27  Nan granmaten, Abraram leve, li ale kote li te kanpe ap pale ak Seyè a.
28 Li voye je l’ bò Sodòm ak Gomò, li wè tout plenn lan. Epi li rete konsa li wè gwo lafimen ap moute soti nan tè a tankou lafimen k’ap leve nan yon gwo founo dife.
29 Se konsa, lè Bondye t’ap detwi lavil yo nan plenn lan, li chonje Abraram. Li fè Lòt chape anba malè li tapral lage sou lavil kote li te rete a.
30  Men Lòt te pè rete nan bouk Zoa a. Se konsa, li menm ak de pitit li yo, yo soti Zoa, yo moute, y al rete nan mòn yo. Yo fè kay yo nan yon gwo twou wòch.
31 Pi gran fi a di pi piti a. Papa nou ap fin granmoun. Pa gen gason nan peyi a pou marye ak nou pou nou ka fè pitit jan sa fèt toupatou.
32 Vini non. Annou fè papa bwè diven jouk li sou. Apre sa, n’a kouche avè l’. Konsa, n’a fè pitit pou papa nou.
33 Menm jou sa a, lè aswè rive, yo fè papa yo bwè diven jouk li sou. Pi gran fi a kouche ak papa l’. Men, papa a te sitèlman sou, li pa t’ konn anyen.
34 Nan denmen, pi gran an di pi piti a. Yèswa, mwen te kouche ak papa m’. Aswè a se tout pa ou: N’ap fè l’ bwè diven ankò jouk li sou. Epi w’a al kouche avè l’, pou nou de nou kapab fè pitit pou papa nou.
35 Se konsa, lè aswè rive, yo fè papa a bwè diven ankò jouk li sou. Epi pi piti a kouche avè l’. Men, fwa sa a ankò, Lòt pa t’ konnen anyen.
36 Se konsa de pitit fi Lòt yo vin ansent pou papa yo.
37 Pi gran an fè yon pitit gason, li rele l’ Moab. Se li menm ki zansèt moun Moab yo ki la jouk koulye a.
38 Pi piti a tout fè yon pitit gason. Li rele l’ Bennami. Se li menm ki zansèt moun Amon yo ki la jouk jòdi a.

Genèse 19

1 Les deux anges arrivèrent à Sodome sur le soir; et Lot était assis à la porte de Sodome. Quand Lot les vit, il se leva pour aller au-devant d’eux, et se prosterna la face contre terre.
2 Puis il dit: Voici, mes seigneurs, entrez, je vous prie, dans la maison de votre serviteur, et passez-y la nuit; lavez-vous les pieds; vous vous lèverez de bon matin, et vous poursuivrez votre route. Non, répondirent-ils, nous passerons la nuit dans la rue.
3 Mais Lot les pressa tellement qu’ils vinrent chez lui et entrèrent dans sa maison. Il leur donna un festin, et fit cuire des pains sans levain. Et ils mangèrent.
4 Ils n’étaient pas encore couchés que les gens de la ville, les gens de Sodome, entourèrent la maison, depuis les enfants jusqu’aux vieillards; toute la population était accourue.
5 Ils appelèrent Lot, et lui dirent: Où sont les hommes qui sont entrés chez toi cette nuit? Fais-les sortir vers nous, pour que nous les connaissions.
6 Lot sortit vers eux à l’entrée de la maison, et ferma la porte derrière lui.
7 Et il dit: Mes frères, je vous prie, ne faites pas le mal!
8 Voici, j’ai deux filles qui n’ont point connu d’homme; je vous les amènerai dehors, et vous leur ferez ce qu’il vous plaira. Seulement, ne faites rien à ces hommes puisqu’ils sont venus à l’ombre de mon toit.
9 Ils dirent: Retire-toi! Ils dirent encore: Celui-ci est venu comme étranger, et il veut faire le juge! Eh bien, nous te ferons pis qu’à eux. Et, pressant Lot avec violence, ils s’avancèrent pour briser la porte.
10 Les hommes étendirent la main, firent rentrer Lot vers eux dans la maison, et fermèrent la porte.
11 Et ils frappèrent d’aveuglement les gens qui étaient à l’entrée de la maison, depuis le plus petit jusqu’au plus grand, de sorte qu’ils se donnèrent une peine inutile pour trouver la porte.
12 Les hommes dirent à Lot: Qui as-tu encore ici? Gendres, fils et filles, et tout ce qui t’appartient dans la ville, fais-les sortir de ce lieu.
13 Car nous allons détruire ce lieu, parce que le cri contre ses habitants est grand devant l’Éternel. L’Éternel nous a envoyés pour le détruire.
14 Lot sortit, et parla à ses gendres qui avaient pris ses filles: Levez-vous, dit-il, sortez de ce lieu; car l’Éternel va détruire la ville. Mais, aux yeux de ses gendres, il parut plaisanter.
15 Dès l’aube du jour, les anges insistèrent auprès de Lot, en disant: Lève-toi, prends ta femme et tes deux filles qui se trouvent ici, de peur que tu ne périsses dans la ruine de la ville.
16 Et comme il tardait, les hommes le saisirent par la main, lui, sa femme et ses deux filles, car l’Éternel voulait l’épargner; ils l’emmenèrent, et le laissèrent hors de la ville.
17 Après les avoir fait sortir, l’un d’eux dit: Sauve-toi, pour ta vie; ne regarde pas derrière toi, et ne t’arrête pas dans toute la plaine; sauve-toi vers la montagne, de peur que tu ne périsses.
18 Lot leur dit: Oh! non, Seigneur!
19 Voici, j’ai trouvé grâce à tes yeux, et tu as montré la grandeur de ta miséricorde à mon égard, en me conservant la vie; mais je ne puis me sauver à la montagne, avant que le désastre m’atteigne, et je périrai.
20 Voici, cette ville est assez proche pour que je m’y réfugie, et elle est petite. Oh! que je puisse m’y sauver,… n’est-elle pas petite?… et que mon âme vive!
21 Et il lui dit: Voici, je t’accorde encore cette grâce, et je ne détruirai pas la ville dont tu parles.
22 Hâte-toi de t’y réfugier, car je ne puis rien faire jusqu’à ce que tu y sois arrivé. C’est pour cela que l’on a donné à cette ville le nom de Tsoar.
23 Le soleil se levait sur la terre, lorsque Lot entra dans Tsoar.
24 Alors l’Éternel fit pleuvoir du ciel sur Sodome et sur Gomorrhe du soufre et du feu, de par l’Éternel.
25 Il détruisit ces villes, toute la plaine et tous les habitants des villes, et les plantes de la terre.
26 La femme de Lot regarda en arrière, et elle devint une statue de sel.
27 Abraham se leva de bon matin, pour aller au lieu où il s’était tenu en présence de l’Éternel.
28 Il porta ses regards du côté de Sodome et de Gomorrhe, et sur tout le territoire de la plaine; et voici, il vit s’élever de la terre une fumée, comme la fumée d’une fournaise.
29 Lorsque Dieu détruisit les villes de la plaine, il se souvint d’Abraham; et il fit échapper Lot du milieu du désastre, par lequel il bouleversa les villes où Lot avait établi sa demeure.
30 Lot quitta Tsoar pour la hauteur, et se fixa sur la montagne, avec ses deux filles, car il craignait de rester à Tsoar. Il habita dans une caverne, lui et ses deux filles.
31 L’aînée dit à la plus jeune: Notre père est vieux; et il n’y a point d’homme dans la contrée, pour venir vers nous, selon l’usage de tous les pays.
32 Viens, faisons boire du vin à notre père, et couchons avec lui, afin que nous conservions la race de notre père.
33 Elles firent donc boire du vin à leur père cette nuit-là; et l’aînée alla coucher avec son père: il ne s’aperçut ni quand elle se coucha, ni quand elle se leva.
34 Le lendemain, l’aînée dit à la plus jeune: Voici, j’ai couché la nuit dernière avec mon père; faisons-lui boire du vin encore cette nuit, et va coucher avec lui, afin que nous conservions la race de notre père.
35 Elles firent boire du vin à leur père encore cette nuit-là; et la cadette alla coucher avec lui: il ne s’aperçut ni quand elle se coucha, ni quand elle se leva.
36 Les deux filles de Lot devinrent enceintes de leur père.
37 L’aînée enfanta un fils, qu’elle appela du nom de Moab: c’est le père des Moabites, jusqu’à ce jour.
38 La plus jeune enfanta aussi un fils, qu’elle appela du nom de Ben Ammi: c’est le père des Ammonites, jusqu’à ce jour.

Genesis 19

1 And there came two angels to Sodom at even; and Lot sat in the gate of Sodom: and Lot seeing them rose up to meet them; and he bowed himself with his face toward the ground;
2 And he said, Behold now, my lords, turn in, I pray you, into your servant’s house, and tarry all night, and wash your feet, and ye shall rise up early, and go on your ways. And they said, Nay; but we will abide in the street all night.
3 And he pressed upon them greatly; and they turned in unto him, and entered into his house; and he made them a feast, and did bake unleavened bread, and they did eat.
4 But before they lay down, the men of the city, even the men of Sodom, compassed the house round, both old and young, all the people from every quarter:
5 And they called unto Lot, and said unto him, Where are the men which came in to thee this night? bring them out unto us, that we may know them.
6 And Lot went out at the door unto them, and shut the door after him,
7 And said, I pray you, brethren, do not so wickedly.
8 Behold now, I have two daughters which have not known man; let me, I pray you, bring them out unto you, and do ye to them as is good in your eyes: only unto these men do nothing; for therefore came they under the shadow of my roof.
9 And they said, Stand back. And they said again, This one fellow came in to sojourn, and he will needs be a judge: now will we deal worse with thee, than with them. And they pressed sore upon the man, even Lot, and came near to break the door.
10 But the men put forth their hand, and pulled Lot into the house to them, and shut to the door.
11 And they smote the men that were at the door of the house with blindness, both small and great: so that they wearied themselves to find the door.
12 And the men said unto Lot, Hast thou here any besides? son in law, and thy sons, and thy daughters, and whatsoever thou hast in the city, bring them out of this place:
13 For we will destroy this place, because the cry of them is waxen great before the face of the Lord; and the Lord hath sent us to destroy it.
14 And Lot went out, and spake unto his sons in law, which married his daughters, and said, Up, get you out of this place; for the Lord will destroy this city. But he seemed as one that mocked unto his sons in law.
15 And when the morning arose, then the angels hastened Lot, saying, Arise, take thy wife, and thy two daughters, which are here; lest thou be consumed in the iniquity of the city.
16 And while he lingered, the men laid hold upon his hand, and upon the hand of his wife, and upon the hand of his two daughters; the Lord being merciful unto him: and they brought him forth, and set him without the city.
17 And it came to pass, when they had brought them forth abroad, that he said, Escape for thy life; look not behind thee, neither stay thou in all the plain; escape to the mountain, lest thou be consumed.
18 And Lot said unto them, Oh, not so, my Lord:
19 Behold now, thy servant hath found grace in thy sight, and thou hast magnified thy mercy, which thou hast shewed unto me in saving my life; and I cannot escape to the mountain, lest some evil take me, and I die:
20 Behold now, this city is near to flee unto, and it is a little one: Oh, let me escape thither, (is it not a little one?) and my soul shall live.
21 And he said unto him, See, I have accepted thee concerning this thing also, that I will not overthrow this city, for the which thou hast spoken.
22 Haste thee, escape thither; for I cannot do anything till thou be come thither. Therefore the name of the city was called Zoar.
23 The sun was risen upon the earth when Lot entered into Zoar.
24 Then the Lord rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the Lord out of heaven;
25 And he overthrew those cities, and all the plain, and all the inhabitants of the cities, and that which grew upon the ground.
26 But his wife looked back from behind him, and she became a pillar of salt.
27 And Abraham gat up early in the morning to the place where he stood before the Lord:
28 And he looked toward Sodom and Gomorrah, and toward all the land of the plain, and beheld, and, lo, the smoke of the country went up as the smoke of a furnace.
29 And it came to pass, when God destroyed the cities of the plain, that God remembered Abraham, and sent Lot out of the midst of the overthrow, when he overthrew the cities in the which Lot dwelt.
30 And Lot went up out of Zoar, and dwelt in the mountain, and his two daughters with him; for he feared to dwell in Zoar: and he dwelt in a cave, he and his two daughters.
31 And the firstborn said unto the younger, Our father is old, and there is not a man in the earth to come in unto us after the manner of all the earth:
32 Come, let us make our father drink wine, and we will lie with him, that we may preserve seed of our father.
33 And they made their father drink wine that night: and the firstborn went in, and lay with her father; and he perceived not when she lay down, nor when she arose.
34 And it came to pass on the morrow, that the firstborn said unto the younger, Behold, I lay yesternight with my father: let us make him drink wine this night also; and go thou in, and lie with him, that we may preserve seed of our father.
35 And they made their father drink wine that night also: and the younger arose, and lay with him; and he perceived not when she lay down, nor when she arose.
36 Thus were both the daughters of Lot with child by their father.
37 And the first born bare a son, and called his name Moab: the same is the father of the Moabites unto this day.
38 And the younger, she also bare a son, and called his name Benammi: the same is the father of the children of Ammon unto this day.
