Pwovèb 22
1 Pito yo nonmen non ou an byen pase pou ou gen anpil richès. Pito moun gen anpil konsiderasyon pou ou pase pou ou gen anpil lajan ak anpil lò.
2 Pa gen diferans ant moun rich ak moun pòv, paske tou de se kreyati Bondye yo ye.
3 Moun ki gen konprann, lè li wè malè ap vin sou li, li wete kò l’. Men, moun sòt pote lestonmak li bay, epi se li ki peye sa.
4 Soumèt ou devan Bondye, gen krentif pou li: W’a gen richès, y’a nonmen non ou, w’a viv lontan.
5 Moun ki mache kwochi jwenn pikan ak pèlen sou wout yo. Si ou renmen lavi, pa fè menm wout ak yo.
6 Bay yon timoun prensip li dwe swiv. Jouk li mouri, li p’ap janm bliye l’.
7 Moun rich ap donminen sou moun pòv. Lè ou prete lajan nan men yon moun, ou tounen timoun devan pòt li.
8 Lè ou simen lenjistis, ou rekòlte malè. Ou rete konsa sak te fè ou gen gwo kòlèt la disparèt.
9 Bondye beni moun ki gen bon kè, paske lè moun ki gen bon kè wè yon pòv, yo separe sa yo genyen an avè l’.
10 Mete moun k’ap pase lòt moun nan betiz la deyò, lamenm tout kont, tout joure ap sispann.
11 Moun ki pa gen move lide dèyè tèt yo epi ki gen bon pawòl nan bouch yo ap gen wa a pou zanmi yo. Men, Bondye renmen moun ki sensè.
12 Seyè a pwoteje moun k’ap di verite. Men, li fè moun k’ap bay manti yo wont.
13 Parese rete chita lakay li, li di si li soti bèt nan bwa va manje l’ nan lari a.
14 Pawòl fanm adiltè se gwo pèlen. Lè Seyè a move sou yon moun, moun lan ap pran nan pèlen sa a.
15 Timoun toujou ap fè move bagay. Men, fwèt ap fè yo pa rekonmanse ankò.
16 Lè w’ap peze yon pòv malere se lespri l’ w’ap louvri. Lè w’ap fè moun rich kado, se pòv w’ap fè l’ pòv.
17 Louvri zòrèy ou, koute pawòl moun ki gen bon konprann yo. Chache konprann sa m’ap moutre ou la a.
18 L’a bon pou ou toujou kenbe yo nan kè ou, pou yo ka toujou anba lang ou.
19 Koulye a, mwen pral moutre ou tout pawòl sa yo, ou menm tou, pou ou ka mete konfyans ou nan Seyè a.
20 Depi lontan, mwen te ekri bon pawòl sa yo pou ou. W’a jwenn anpil bon konsèy ak konesans ladan yo.
21 Y’a fè ou konnen verite a jan li ye a. Konsa, w’a pote bon repons bay moun ki te voye ou la. Men yo:
22 Pa pran ti sa pòv la genyen an paske se pòv li ye. Pa pwofite sou ti malere yo nan tribinal.
23 Se Seyè a ki va plede kòz yo pou yo. L’a touye moun ki vòlò malere sa yo.
24 Pa fè zanmi ak moun ki ankòlè fasil. Pa mache ak moun ki gen san wo.
25 W’a pran move mès yo. W’a rale malè sou ou.
26 Pa pwomèt pou ou reskonsab dèt yon lòt moun fè.
27 Si ou pa ka peye, y’a sezi ata kabann anba do ou.
28 Pa janm deplase bòn tè kote granmoun lontan te mete yo.
29 Moutre m’ yon nonm ki gen ladrès nan sa l’ap fè. Se moun konsa k’ap rive travay ak chèf. Li pa pral travay ak moun ki pa anyen.

Proverbes 22
1 La réputation est préférable à de grandes richesses, Et la grâce vaut mieux que l’argent et que l’or.
2 Le riche et le pauvre se rencontrent; C’est l’Éternel qui les a faits l’un et l’autre.
3 L’homme prudent voit le mal et se cache, Mais les simples avancent et sont punis.
4 Le fruit de l’humilité, de la crainte de l’Éternel, C’est la richesse, la gloire et la vie.
5 Des épines, des pièges sont sur la voie de l’homme pervers; Celui qui garde son âme s’en éloigne.
6 Instruis l’enfant selon la voie qu’il doit suivre; Et quand il sera vieux, il ne s’en détournera pas.
7 Le riche domine sur les pauvres, Et celui qui emprunte est l’esclave de celui qui prête.
8 Celui qui sème l’iniquité moissonne l’iniquité, Et la verge de sa fureur disparaît.
9 L’homme dont le regard est bienveillant sera béni, Parce qu’il donne de son pain au pauvre.
10 Chasse le moqueur, et la querelle prendra fin; Les disputes et les outrages cesseront.
11 Celui qui aime la pureté du coeur, Et qui a la grâce sur les lèvres, a le roi pour ami.
12 Les yeux de l’Éternel gardent la science, Mais il confond les paroles du perfide.
13 Le paresseux dit: Il y a un lion dehors! Je serai tué dans les rues!
14 La bouche des étrangères est une fosse profonde; Celui contre qui l’Éternel est irrité y tombera.
15 La folie est attachée au coeur de l’enfant; La verge de la correction l’éloignera de lui.
16 Opprimer le pauvre pour augmenter son bien, C’est donner au riche pour n’arriver qu’à la disette.
17 Prête l’oreille, et écoute les paroles des sages; Applique ton coeur à ma science.
18 Car il est bon que tu les gardes au dedans de toi, Et qu’elles soient toutes présentes sur tes lèvres.
19 Afin que ta confiance repose sur l’Éternel, Je veux t’instruire aujourd’hui, oui, toi.
20 N’ai-je pas déjà pour toi mis par écrit Des conseils et des réflexions,
21 Pour t’enseigner des choses sûres, des paroles vraies, Afin que tu répondes par des paroles vraies à celui qui t’envoie?
22 Ne dépouille pas le pauvre, parce qu’il est pauvre, Et n’opprime pas le malheureux à la porte;
23 Car l’Éternel défendra leur cause, Et il ôtera la vie à ceux qui les auront dépouillés.
24 Ne fréquente pas l’homme colère, Ne va pas avec l’homme violent,
25 De peur que tu ne t’habitues à ses sentiers, Et qu’ils ne deviennent un piège pour ton âme.
26 Ne sois pas parmi ceux qui prennent des engagements, Parmi ceux qui cautionnent pour des dettes;
27 Si tu n’as pas de quoi payer, Pourquoi voudrais-tu qu’on enlève ton lit de dessous toi?
28 Ne déplace pas la borne ancienne, Que tes pères ont posée.
29 Si tu vois un homme habile dans son ouvrage, Il se tient auprès des rois; Il ne se tient pas auprès des gens obscurs.

Proverbs 22
1 A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches, and loving favour rather than silver and gold.
2 The rich and poor meet together: the Lord is the maker of them all.
3 A prudent man foreseeth the evil, and hideth himself: but the simple pass on, and are punished.
4 By humility and the fear of the Lord are riches, and honour, and life.
5 Thorns and snares are in the way of the froward: he that doth keep his soul shall be far from them.
6 Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.
7 The rich ruleth over the poor, and the borrower is servant to the lender.
8 He that soweth iniquity shall reap vanity: and the rod of his anger shall fail.
9 He that hath a bountiful eye shall be blessed; for he giveth of his bread to the poor.
10 Cast out the scorner, and contention shall go out; yea, strife and reproach shall cease.
11 He that loveth pureness of heart, for the grace of his lips the king shall be his friend.
12 The eyes of the Lord preserve knowledge, and he overthroweth the words of the transgressor.
13 The slothful man saith, There is a lion without, I shall be slain in the streets.
14 The mouth of strange women is a deep pit: he that is abhorred of the Lord shall fall therein.
15 Foolishness is bound in the heart of a child; but the rod of correction shall drive it far from him.
16 He that oppresseth the poor to increase his riches, and he that giveth to the rich, shall surely come to want.
17 Bow down thine ear, and hear the words of the wise, and apply thine heart unto my knowledge.
18 For it is a pleasant thing if thou keep them within thee; they shall withal be fitted in thy lips.
19 That thy trust may be in the Lord, I have made known to thee this day, even to thee.
20 Have not I written to thee excellent things in counsels and knowledge,
21 That I might make thee know the certainty of the words of truth; that thou mightest answer the words of truth to them that send unto thee?
22 Rob not the poor, because he is poor: neither oppress the afflicted in the gate:
23 For the Lord will plead their cause, and spoil the soul of those that spoiled them.
24 Make no friendship with an angry man; and with a furious man thou shalt not go:
25 Lest thou learn his ways, and get a snare to thy soul.
26 Be not thou one of them that strike hands, or of them that are sureties for debts.
27 If thou hast nothing to pay, why should he take away thy bed from under thee?
28 Remove not the ancient landmark, which thy fathers have set.
29 Seest thou a man diligent in his business? he shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men.
