1 Vè menm epòk sa a, Ezekyas tonbe malad, li te pArèt pou l’ mouri. Pwofèt Ezayi, pitit Amòz la, vin wè li, li di l’ konsa: –Men sa Seyè a voye di ou: Ou mèt mete lòd nan zafè ou paske ou pral mouri. Pa gen rechap pou ou.
2 Ezekyas vire figi l’ bay panno a fas, li lapriyè Seyè a.
3 Li di: –Tanpri, Seyè! Chonje jan mwen te sèvi ou ak tout kè mwen san m’ pa janm vire do ba ou! Mwen te toujou fè sa ou te vle m’ fè. Epi li pran kriye kont kriye l’.
4 Lè Ezayi kite wa a, li pa t’ ankò soti nan lakou ki nan mitan palè a lè Seyè a pale avè l’, li di l’ konsa:
5 –Tounen al jwenn Ezekyas, chèf pèp mwen an. W’a di l’ pou mwen. Men sa Seyè a, Bondye David, zansèt ou a, voye di ou. Mwen tande lapriyè ou. Mwen wè jan sa fè ou mal, m’ap geri ou. Nan twa jou w’ap kanpe, ou pral nan Tanp Seyè a.
6 M’ap kite ou viv kenzan ankò, m’ap delivre ou, ou menm ansanm ak lavil Jerizalèm anba men wa Lasiri a. M’a pwoteje lavil la poutèt David sèvitè m’ lan, ak poutèt mwen.
7 Ezayi mande pou fè yon kataplas ak fig frans mete sou malenng wa a. Yo fè sa vre. Epi wa a geri.
8 Lè sa a, wa a mande Ezayi: –Kisa ki pral fè m’ konnen Seyè a pral geri m’ pou nan twa jou m’ ka al nan Tanp Seyè a?
9 Ezayi reponn li: –Men siy Seyè a pral fè ou wè pou ou ka konnen l’ap kenbe pawòl li. Gade kadran solèy la. Eske ou ta vle pou lonbraj la mache annavan sou dis ti mak, osinon pou l’ fè bak sou dis ti mak?
10 Ezekyas di l’: –Se bagay fasil pou lonbraj la mache annavan sou dis ti mak. L’ap pi difisil pou l’ fè bak sou dis ti mak.
11 Pwofèt Izayi lapriyè Seyè a epi Seyè a fè lonbraj la fè bak sou dis ti mak li te fin depase nan kadran solèy wa Akaz te fè a.
12 Nan menm epòk sa a, wa peyi Babilòn lan, Mewodak Baladan, pitit gason Baladan, vin konnen wa Ezekyas te malad. Li voye yon lèt ba li ansanm ak yon kado.
13 Ezekyas te kontan jès la. Li moutre mesaje wa Babilòn te voye yo tout richès li yo: pyès an ajan, lò, epis, boutèy odè, zam ansanm ak tout lòt bagay li te gen nan depo l’ yo. Li fè yo wè dènye bagay li te gen lakay li ak nan tout peyi a.
14 Lè sa a, pwofèt Ezayi al jwenn wa Ezekyas, li mande l’: –Kote mesye sa yo soti? Kisa yo di ou? Ezekyas reponn: –Yo soti nan yon peyi byen lwen, yo soti nan peyi Babilòn.
15 Ezayi di l’ konsa: –Kisa yo wè nan palè a? Ezekyas reponn: –Yo wè tout sa ki nan palè a. Mwen fè yo wè dènye bagay mwen gen nan depo m’ yo.
16 Ezayi di wa Ezekyas konsa: –Koute mesaj Seyè ki gen pouvwa a voye ba ou:
17 Yon lè gen pou rive. Lè sa a, y’ap pran dènye bagay ki nan palè ou la, tou sa zansèt ou yo te anpile depi nan tan lontan jouk jòdi a, y’ap pote yo ale nan peyi Babilòn. Yo p’ap kite anyen. Se Seyè a menm ki di sa.
18 Y’ap pran kèk nan pwòp pitit pitit ou yo, y’ap depòte yo, y’ap chatre yo pou yo ka sèvi nèg konfyans nan palè wa Babilòn lan.
19 Ezekyas reponn Ezayi, li di l’ konsa: –Mesaj Bondye ba ou pou di m’ lan gen tan bon. Men li t’ap di nan kè l’: Depi pa gen boulvès, depi pa gen lagè nan peyi a tout tan m’ap viv la!
20 Tout rès istwa Ezekyas la, jan li te vanyan sòlda, jan li te bati rezèvwa dlo a ak gwo kannal anba tè pou mennen dlo nan lavil la, nou jwenn tou sa ekri nan liv Istwa wa peyi Jida yo.
21 Lè Ezekyas mouri, se Manase, pitit gason l’ lan, ki moute wa nan plas li.

1 En ce temps-là, Ézéchias fut malade à la mort. Le prophète Ésaïe, fils d’Amots, vint auprès de lui, et lui dit: Ainsi parle l’Éternel: Donne tes ordres à ta maison, car tu vas mourir, et tu ne vivras plus.
2 Ézéchias tourna son visage contre le mur, et fit cette prière à l’Éternel:
3 O Éternel! souviens-toi que j’ai marché devant ta face avec fidélité et intégrité de coeur, et que j’ai fait ce qui est bien à tes yeux! Et Ézéchias répandit d’abondantes larmes.
4 Ésaïe, qui était sorti, n’était pas encore dans la cour du milieu, lorsque la parole de l’Éternel lui fut adressée en ces termes:
5 Retourne, et dis à Ézéchias, chef de mon peuple: Ainsi parle l’Éternel, le Dieu de David, ton père: J’ai entendu ta prière, j’ai vu tes larmes. Voici, je te guérirai; le troisième jour, tu monteras à la maison de l’Éternel.
6 J’ajouterai à tes jours quinze années. Je te délivrerai, toi et cette ville, de la main du roi d’Assyrie; je protégerai cette ville, à cause de moi, et à cause de David, mon serviteur.
7 Ésaïe dit: Prenez une masse de figues. On la prit, et on l’appliqua sur l’ulcère. Et Ézéchias guérit.
8 Ézéchias avait dit à Ésaïe: A quel signe connaîtrai-je que l’Éternel me guérira, et que je monterai le troisième jour à la maison de l’Éternel?
9 Et Ésaïe dit: Voici, de la part de l’Éternel, le signe auquel tu connaîtras que l’Éternel accomplira la parole qu’il a prononcée: L’ombre avancera-t-elle de dix degrés, ou reculera-t-elle de dix degrés?
10 Ézéchias répondit: C’est peu de chose que l’ombre avance de dix degrés; mais plutôt qu’elle recule de dix degrés.
11 Alors Ésaïe, le prophète, invoqua l’Éternel, qui fit reculer l’ombre de dix degrés sur les degrés d’Achaz, où elle était descendue.
12 En ce même temps, Berodac Baladan, fils de Baladan, roi de Babylone, envoya une lettre et un présent à Ézéchias, car il avait appris la maladie d’Ézéchias.
13 Ézéchias donna audience aux envoyés, et il leur montra le lieu où étaient ses choses de prix, l’argent et l’or, les aromates et l’huile précieuse, son arsenal, et tout ce qui se trouvait dans ses trésors: il n’y eut rien qu’Ézéchias ne leur fît voir dans sa maison et dans tous ses domaines.
14 Ésaïe, le prophète, vint ensuite auprès du roi Ézéchias, et lui dit: Qu’ont dit ces gens-là, et d’où sont-ils venus vers toi? Ézéchias répondit: Ils sont venus d’un pays éloigné, de Babylone.
15 Ésaïe dit encore: Qu’ont-ils vu dans ta maison? Ézéchias répondit: Ils ont vu tout ce qui est dans ma maison: il n’y a rien dans mes trésors que je ne leur aie fait voir.
16 Alors Ésaïe dit à Ézéchias: Écoute la parole de l’Éternel!
17 Voici, les temps viendront où l’on emportera à Babylone tout ce qui est dans ta maison et ce que tes pères ont amassé jusqu’à ce jour; il n’en restera rien, dit l’Éternel.
18 Et l’on prendra de tes fils, qui seront sortis de toi, que tu auras engendrés, pour en faire des eunuques dans le palais du roi de Babylone.
19 Ézéchias répondit à Ésaïe: La parole de l’Éternel, que tu as prononcée, est bonne. Et il ajouta: N’y aura-t-il pas paix et sécurité pendant ma vie?
20 Le reste des actions d’Ézéchias, tous ses exploits, et comment il fit l’étang et l’aqueduc, et amena les eaux dans la ville, cela n’est-il pas écrit dans le livre des Chroniques des rois de Juda?
21 Ézéchias se coucha avec ses pères. Et Manassé, son fils, régna à sa place.

1 In those days was Hezekiah sick unto death. And the prophet Isaiah the son of Amoz came to him, and said unto him, Thus saith the Lord, Set thine house in order; for thou shalt die, and not live.
2 Then he turned his face to the wall, and prayed unto the Lord, saying,
3 I beseech thee, O Lord, remember now how I have walked before thee in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in thy sight. And Hezekiah wept sore.
4 And it came to pass, afore Isaiah was gone out into the middle court, that the word of the Lord came to him, saying,
5 Turn again, and tell Hezekiah the captain of my people, Thus saith the Lord, the God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will heal thee: on the third day thou shalt go up unto the house of the Lord.
6 And I will add unto thy days fifteen years; and I will deliver thee and this city out of the hand of the king of Assyria; and I will defend this city for mine own sake, and for my servant David’s sake.
7 And Isaiah said, Take a lump of figs. And they took and laid it on the boil, and he recovered.
8 And Hezekiah said unto Isaiah, What shall be the sign that the Lord will heal me, and that I shall go up into the house of the Lord the third day?
9 And Isaiah said, This sign shalt thou have of the Lord, that the Lord will do the thing that he hath spoken: shall the shadow go forward ten degrees, or go back ten degrees?
10 And Hezekiah answered, It is a light thing for the shadow to go down ten degrees: nay, but let the shadow return backward ten degrees.
11 And Isaiah the prophet cried unto the Lord: and he brought the shadow ten degrees backward, by which it had gone down in the dial of Ahaz.
12 At that time Berodachbaladan, the son of Baladan, king of Babylon, sent letters and a present unto Hezekiah: for he had heard that Hezekiah had been sick.
13 And Hezekiah hearkened unto them, and shewed them all the house of his precious things, the silver, and the gold, and the spices, and the precious ointment, and all the house of his armour, and all that was found in his treasures: there was nothing in his house, nor in all his dominion, that Hezekiah shewed them not.
14 Then came Isaiah the prophet unto king Hezekiah, and said unto him, What said these men? and from whence came they unto thee? And Hezekiah said, They are come from a far country, even from Babylon.
15 And he said, What have they seen in thine house? And Hezekiah answered, All the things that are in mine house have they seen: there is nothing among my treasures that I have not shewed them.
16 And Isaiah said unto Hezekiah, Hear the word of the Lord.
17 Behold, the days come, that all that is in thine house, and that which thy fathers have laid up in store unto this day, shall be carried into Babylon: nothing shall be left, saith the Lord.
18 And of thy sons that shall issue from thee, which thou shalt beget, shall they take away; and they shall be eunuchs in the palace of the king of Babylon.
19 Then said Hezekiah unto Isaiah, Good is the word of the Lord which thou hast spoken. And he said, Is it not good, if peace and truth be in my days?
20 And the rest of the acts of Hezekiah, and all his might, and how he made a pool, and a conduit, and brought water into the city, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?
21 And Hezekiah slept with his fathers: and Manasseh his son reigned in his stead.
