1 Pitit mwen yo, koute yon papa lè l’ap ban nou bon levasyon. Louvri zòrèy nou pou nou ka gen konprann.
2 Pa janm bliye anyen nan sa m’ap moutre nou la a: Se bon konsèy m’ap ban nou.
3 Lè mwen te timoun piti lakay papa m’, lè sa a mwen te sèl pitit manman mwen.
4 Papa m’ t’ap moutre m’ anpil bagay. Li te konn di m’: Kenbe pawòl mwen nan kè ou. Fè sa m’ap di ou fè, konsa w’a viv.
5 Chache gen konesans ak bon konprann. Pa janm bliye sa m’ap di ou la a. Pa vire do ba yo.
6 Pa lage konesans ou. L’a toujou pwoteje ou. renmen l’, li p’ap kite anyen rive ou.
7 Chache gen konesans, se premye bagay yon nonm lespri dwe fè. Nenpòt kisa ou ka genyen, bay li pou ou vin gen konprann.
8 renmen konesans, l’ap fè ou mache tèt wo. Kenbe l’, pa lage l’. L’a fè yo respekte ou.
9 Se va yon bèl bagay pou ou, tankou yon kouwòn sou tèt ou. Se va yon lwanj pou ou kote ou pase.
10 Koute sa m’ap di ou, pitit mwen. Pa bliye sa m’ap moutre ou la a, konsa w’a viv lontan.
11 Mwen moutre ou jan pou ou viv ak bon konprann. Mwen fè ou konnen jan pou ou mache dwat.
12 Lè w’ap viv avèk bon konprann, anyen p’ap bare wout ou. Ou mèt ap kouri, ou p’ap janm bite sou anyen.
13 Pa janm bliye sa yo te moutre ou, kenbe l’ fèm. Pa kite l’ chape anba men ou, se tout lavi ou.
14 Pa fè menm chemen ak mechan yo. Pa swiv egzanp moun ki deprave yo.
15 Pa fè sa, pa pran chemen sa yo menm. Refize fè tankou yo, fè chemen pa ou.
16 Mechan yo p’ap dòmi toutotan yo pa fè sa ki mal. Dòmi pa ka pran yo si yo pa rive fè sa yo vle fè a.
17 Se nan fè mechanste yo jwenn manje pou yo manje. Se nan fè moun mal yo jwenn diven pou yo bwè.
18 Chemen moun k’ap mache dwat yo tankou solèy k’ap leve. Chak lè, l’ap vin pi klere jouk li fin jou nèt.
19 Chemen moun mechan yo fè nwa kou lannwit. Yo pa ka wè sou kisa y’ap bite.
20 Pitit mwen, louvri lespri ou pou ou konprann byen sa m’ap di ou la a. Louvri zòrèy ou pou ou koute pawòl k’ap soti nan bouch mwen.
21 Pa janm kite yo soti devan je ou. Kenbe yo nan kè ou. Pa janm bliye yo.
22 Se lavi pou moun ki jwenn yo. Se lasante pou tout moun ki konprann yo.
23 Pase tout lòt bagay, veye byen lide k’ap travay nan tèt ou, paske se yo k’ap di ou ki jan pou ou viv.
24 Pa janm kite manti soti nan bouch ou, ni move pawòl, ni mo deplase.
25 Gade dwat devan ou. Kenbe je ou fikse sou chemen ki dwat devan ou lan.
26 Chache konnen byen sa w’ap fè. Konsa, tou sa w’ap fè ap mache byen pou ou.
27 Pa vire ni adwat ni agoch. Pa lage kò ou nan fè sa ki mal.

Proverbes 4
1 Écoutez, mes fils, l’instruction d’un père, Et soyez attentifs, pour connaître la sagesse;
2 Car je vous donne de bons conseils: Ne rejetez pas mon enseignement.
3 J’étais un fils pour mon père, Un fils tendre et unique auprès de ma mère.
4 Il m’instruisait alors, et il me disait: Que ton coeur retienne mes paroles; Observe mes préceptes, et tu vivras.
5 Acquiers la sagesse, acquiers l’intelligence; N’oublie pas les paroles de ma bouche, et ne t’en détourne pas.
6 Ne l’abandonne pas, et elle te gardera; Aime-la, et elle te protégera.
7 Voici le commencement de la sagesse: Acquiers la sagesse, Et avec tout ce que tu possèdes acquiers l’intelligence.
8 Exalte-la, et elle t’élèvera; Elle fera ta gloire, si tu l’embrasses;
9 Elle mettra sur ta tête une couronne de grâce, Elle t’ornera d’un magnifique diadème.
10 Écoute, mon fils, et reçois mes paroles; Et les années de ta vie se multiplieront.
11 Je te montre la voie de la sagesse, Je te conduis dans les sentiers de la droiture.
12 Si tu marches, ton pas ne sera point gêné; Et si tu cours, tu ne chancelleras point.
13 Retiens l’instruction, ne t’en dessaisis pas; Garde-la, car elle est ta vie.
14 N’entre pas dans le sentier des méchants, Et ne marche pas dans la voie des hommes mauvais.
15 Évite-la, n’y passe point; Détourne-t’en, et passe outre.
16 Car ils ne dormiraient pas s’ils n’avaient fait le mal, Le sommeil leur serait ravi s’ils n’avaient fait tomber personne;
17 Car c’est le pain de la méchanceté qu’ils mangent, C’est le vin de la violence qu’ils boivent.
18 Le sentier des justes est comme la lumière resplendissante, Dont l’éclat va croissant jusqu’au milieu du jour.
19 La voie des méchants est comme les ténèbres; Ils n’aperçoivent pas ce qui les fera tomber.
20 Mon fils, sois attentif à mes paroles, Prête l’oreille à mes discours.
21 Qu’ils ne s’éloignent pas de tes yeux; Garde-les dans le fond de ton coeur;
22 Car c’est la vie pour ceux qui les trouvent, C’est la santé pour tout leur corps.
23 Garde ton coeur plus que toute autre chose, Car de lui viennent les sources de la vie.
24 Écarte de ta bouche la fausseté, Éloigne de tes lèvres les détours.
25 Que tes yeux regardent en face, Et que tes paupières se dirigent devant toi.
26 Considère le chemin par où tu passes, Et que toutes tes voies soient bien réglées;
27 N’incline ni à droite ni à gauche, Et détourne ton pied du mal.

Proverbs 4
1 Hear, ye children, the instruction of a father, and attend to know understanding.
2 For I give you good doctrine, forsake ye not my law.
3 For I was my father’s son, tender and only beloved in the sight of my mother.
4 He taught me also, and said unto me, Let thine heart retain my words: keep my commandments, and live.
5 Get wisdom, get understanding: forget it not; neither decline from the words of my mouth.
6 Forsake her not, and she shall preserve thee: love her, and she shall keep thee.
7 Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.
8 Exalt her, and she shall promote thee: she shall bring thee to honour, when thou dost embrace her.
9 She shall give to thine head an ornament of grace: a crown of glory shall she deliver to thee.
10 Hear, O my son, and receive my sayings; and the years of thy life shall be many.
11 I have taught thee in the way of wisdom; I have led thee in right paths.
12 When thou goest, thy steps shall not be straitened; and when thou runnest, thou shalt not stumble.
13 Take fast hold of instruction; let her not go: keep her; for she is thy life.
14 Enter not into the path of the wicked, and go not in the way of evil men.
15 Avoid it, pass not by it, turn from it, and pass away.
16 For they sleep not, except they have done mischief; and their sleep is taken away, unless they cause some to fall.
17 For they eat the bread of wickedness, and drink the wine of violence.
18 But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.
19 The way of the wicked is as darkness: they know not at what they stumble.
20 My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings.
21 Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart.
22 For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.
23 Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.
24 Put away from thee a froward mouth, and perverse lips put far from thee.
25 Let thine eyes look right on, and let thine eyelids look straight before thee.
26 Ponder the path of thy feet, and let all thy ways be established.
27 Turn not to the right hand nor to the left: remove thy foot from evil.
