1 Seyè a di ankò: -Lè yon nonm divòse ak madanm li, si apre madanm lan fin kite avè l’, li al fè afè ak yon lòt gason, èske premye nonm lan ap tounen ak madanm lan ankò? Eske si sa ta rive fèt se p’ap yon gwo bagay derespektan ki t’ap rive nan peyi a? Konsa tou, nou menm pèp Izrayèl, nou te tankou yon fanm ki te gen anpil nonm pou jan nou te kouri fè sèvis pou yon bann lòt bondye. Epi koulye a nou ta renmen tounen vin jwenn mwen? Se mwen menm Seyè a ki di sa.
2 Leve je nou, gade tèt mòn yo! Eske gen yonn ladan yo kote nou pa t’ aji tankou yon fanm k’ap fè jennès? Nou rete chita sou tout bò chemen ap veye gason, tankou arab k’ap veye moun nan dezè a pou piye yo. Nou avili tout peyi a ak lenkondite nou ansanm ak mechanste nou yo.
3 Se poutèt sa pa t’ gen lapli. Lapli prentan yo pa vini. Men, je nou chèch tankou jennès, nou pa janm wont.
4 Koulye a menm, n’ap vin di m’: O wi, se mwen ki papa nou, nou te toujou renmen m’ depi lè nou te piti.
5 Nou konnen mwen p’ap ret fache pou tout tan, mwen p’ap kenbe nou nan kè m’. Pèp Izrayèl, se sa nou te toujou di. Epi apre sa, nou lage kò nou pi rèd nan fè sa ki mal.
6 Yon lòt fwa Seyè a pale avè m’ ankò. Lè sa a, se Jozyas ki te wa nan peyi Izrayèl. Seyè a di m’ konsa: -Ou wè sa peyi Izrayèl la fè? L’ap twonpe m’. li ale sou tout gwo mòn yo, anba tout kalite gwo pyebwa, tankou yon jennès ak nonm li yo, l’ap fè sèvis pou lòt bondye.
7 Mwen t’ap di nan kè m’: lè l’a fin fè tout bagay sa yo, l’a tounen vin jwenn mwen. Men, li pa tounen. Jida, sè l’ la ki pa t’ kenbe pawòl li avè m’, wè sa.
8 Li wè mwen te divòse ak Izrayèl, mwen te voye l’ al lakay li paske li te vire do ban mwen, paske li te lage kò l’ nan fè jennès sou mwen. Men, Jida, sè Izrayèl la ki pa t’ kenbe pawòl li avè m’, pa t’ pè. Li menm tou, li al lage kò l’ nan jennès.
9 Li pa t’ wont. Li avili tout peyi a avèk lenkondite li. li al fè sèvis pou wòch ak pyebwa.
10 Lè li fin fè tou sa, Jida, sè Izrayèl la ki pa t’ kenbe pawòl li avè m’, li tounen vin jwenn mwen. Men, se te pawòl nan bouch. Se mwen menm, Seyè a, ki di sa.
11 Apre sa, Seyè a di konsa: -Izrayèl te vire do ban mwen, men li te pi bon pase Jida ki te chita la ap twonpe m’.
12 Ale nan nò, w’a di moun peyi Izrayèl yo pou mwen: Nou menm moun peyi Izrayèl ki te vire do ban mwen, tounen vin jwenn mwen. Mwen gen kè sansib, mwen p’ap fache sou nou. Mwen p’ap fache sou nou pou tout tan. Se mwen menm, Seyè a, ki di sa.
13 Sèlman, se pou nou rekonèt sa nou fè a pa bon. Nou pa t’ kenbe pawòl nou avè m’, Seyè a, Bondye nou an! Nou t’ al toupatou, anba tout kalite pyebwa, pou fè sèvis pou bondye lòt nasyon yo. Nou pa t’ koute m’ lè mwen t’ap pale nou. Se mwen menm Seyè a ki di sa.
14 Nou menm ki vire do ban mwen, tounen vin jwenn mwen. Se mwen menm Seyè a ki di sa. Paske, se mwen menm ki mèt nou. Mwen pral pran yon moun nan chak lavil nou yo, de moun nan chak branch fanmi, m’ap mennen nou tounen sou mòn Siyon an.
15 M’ap ban nou chèf k’ap fè tou sa m’ vle yo fè. Y’a gen konesans ak bon konprann pou gouvènen nou.
16 Apre sa, lè m’a fè n’ peple nan peyi a, moun p’ap pale sou Bwat Kontra Seyè a ankò. Lide yo p’ap sou li, y’ap bliye l’ nèt. Yo p’ap menm wè si li pa la. Yo p’ap fè yon lòt.
17 Lè sa a, y’a rele Jerizalèm Fotèy Seyè a. Lèfini tout nasyon yo va vin sanble la pou fè sèvis pou Seyè a. Y’a sispann swiv move lide ki t’ap fè yo kenbe tèt ak mwen an.
18 Lè sa a, moun peyi Jida yo va mete tèt ansanm ak moun peyi Izrayèl yo ankò. Ansanm y’a soti kite peyi nan nò a pou yo vin nan peyi mwen te bay zansèt yo pou rele yo pa yo a.
19 Seyè a te di ankò: -Jan m’ ta renmen asepte ou pou pitit mwen! Mwen ta ba ou yon peyi ki plen bèl bagay, peyi ki pi bèl pase tout lòt peyi sou latè, peyi ki t’ap rele ou pa ou. Mwen t’ap di nan kè m’ yo pral rele m’ papa. Yo p’ap janm vire do ban mwen ankò.
20 Men, tankou yon fanm k’ap twonpe mari l’, nou menm, moun peyi Izrayèl yo, nou twonpe m’. Se mwen menm Seyè a ki di sa.
21 Yo tande yon sèl rèl sou tèt mòn yo: Se pèp Izrayèl la k’ap kriye, k’ap rele. Paske yo fin pèdi tèt yo, yo bliye Seyè a, Bondye yo a.
22 Tounen vin jwenn mwen non, nou tout ki te vire do bay Bondye. M’a geri nou, m’a fè nou kenbe pawòl nou yo. Nou di: Men nou! Nou tounen vin jwenn ou. Wi, se ou menm Seyè a ki Bondye nou!
23 Se pou gremesi nou t’ap fè tout bri sa yo sou tèt mòn yo. Yo pa ka fè anyen pou nou. Wi, se Seyè a, Bondye nou an, sèl ki ka sove pèp Izrayèl la.
24 Men, depi nou te tou piti, zidòl k’ap fè nou wont la fin manje dènye sa zansèt nou yo te kite pou nou: bèf, kabrit ak mouton, pitit gason ak pitit fi.
25 Se pou nou bese tèt nou jouk atè tèlman nou wont. Wont la twòp pou nou! Li kouvri nou nèt! Wi, ni nou ni zansèt nou yo, depi nou tou piti rive jouk jòdi a, n’ap fè sa ki mal devan Seyè a, Bondye nou an. Nou pa koute Seyè a, Bondye nou an, pou nou fè sa l’ mande nou fè.

Jérémie 3
1 Il dit: Lorsqu’un homme répudie sa femme, Qu’elle le quitte et devient la femme d’un autre, Cet homme retourne-t-il encore vers elle? Le pays même ne serait-il pas souillé? Et toi, tu t’es prostituée à de nombreux amants, Et tu reviendrais à moi! dit l’Éternel.
2 Lève tes yeux vers les hauteurs, et regarde! Où ne t’es-tu pas prostituée! Tu te tenais sur les chemins, comme l’Arabe dans le désert, Et tu as souillé le pays par tes prostitutions et par ta méchanceté.
3 Aussi les pluies ont-elles été retenues, Et la pluie du printemps a-t-elle manqué; Mais tu as eu le front d’une femme prostituée, Tu n’as pas voulu avoir honte.
4 Maintenant, n’est-ce pas? tu cries vers moi: Mon père! Tu as été l’ami de ma jeunesse!
5 Gardera-t-il à toujours sa colère? La conservera-t-il à jamais? Et voici, tu as dit, tu as fait des choses criminelles, tu les as consommées.
6 L’Éternel me dit, au temps du roi Josias: As-tu vu ce qu’a fait l’infidèle Israël? Elle est allée sur toute montagne élevée et sous tout arbre vert, et là elle s’est prostituée.
7 Je disais: Après avoir fait toutes ces choses, elle reviendra à moi. Mais elle n’est pas revenue. Et sa soeur, la perfide Juda, en a été témoin.
8 Quoique j’eusse répudié l’infidèle Israël à cause de tous ses adultères, et que je lui eusse donné sa lettre de divorce, j’ai vu que la perfide Juda, sa soeur, n’a point eu de crainte, et qu’elle est allée se prostituer pareillement.
9 Par sa criante impudicité Israël a souillé le pays, elle a commis un adultère avec la pierre et le bois.
10 Malgré tout cela, la perfide Juda, sa soeur, n’est pas revenue à moi de tout son coeur; c’est avec fausseté qu’elle l’a fait, dit l’Éternel.
11 L’Éternel me dit: L’infidèle Israël paraît innocente En comparaison de la perfide Juda.
12 Va, crie ces paroles vers le septentrion, et dis: Reviens, infidèle Israël! dit l’Éternel. Je ne jetterai pas sur vous un regard sévère; Car je suis miséricordieux, dit l’Éternel, Je ne garde pas ma colère à toujours.
13 Reconnais seulement ton iniquité, Reconnais que tu as été infidèle à l’Éternel, ton Dieu, Que tu as dirigé çà et là tes pas vers les dieux étrangers, Sous tout arbre vert, Et que tu n’as pas écouté ma voix, dit l’Éternel.
14 Revenez, enfants rebelles, dit l’Éternel; Car je suis votre maître. Je vous prendrai, un d’une ville, deux d’une famille, Et je vous ramènerai dans Sion.
15 Je vous donnerai des bergers selon mon coeur, Et ils vous paîtront avec intelligence et avec sagesse.
16 Lorsque vous aurez multiplié et fructifié dans le pays, En ces jours-là, dit l’Éternel, On ne parlera plus de l’arche de l’alliance de l’Éternel; Elle ne viendra plus à la pensée; On ne se la rappellera plus, on ne s’apercevra plus de son absence, Et l’on n’en fera point une autre.
17 En ce temps-là, on appellera Jérusalem le trône de l’Éternel; Toutes les nations s’assembleront à Jérusalem, au nom de l’Éternel, Et elles ne suivront plus les penchants de leur mauvais coeur.
18 En ces jours, La maison de Juda marchera avec la maison d’Israël; Elles viendront ensemble du pays du septentrion Au pays dont j’ai donné la possession à vos pères.
19 Je disais: Comment te mettrai-je parmi mes enfants, Et te donnerai-je un pays de délices, Un héritage, le plus bel ornement des nations? Je disais: Tu m’appelleras: Mon père! Et tu ne te détourneras pas de moi.
20 Mais, comme une femme est infidèle à son amant, Ainsi vous m’avez été infidèles, maison d’Israël, Dit l’Éternel.
21 Une voix se fait entendre sur les lieux élevés; Ce sont les pleurs, les supplications des enfants d’Israël; Car ils ont perverti leur voie, Ils ont oublié l’Éternel, leur Dieu.
22 Revenez, enfants rebelles, Je pardonnerai vos infidélités. -Nous voici, nous allons à toi, Car tu es l’Éternel, notre Dieu.
23 Oui, le bruit qui vient des collines et des montagnes n’est que mensonge; Oui, c’est en l’Éternel, notre Dieu, qu’est le salut d’Israël.
24 Les idoles ont dévoré le produit du travail de nos pères, Dès notre jeunesse, Leurs brebis et leurs boeufs, leurs fils et leurs filles.
25 Nous avons notre honte pour couche, Et notre ignominie pour couverture; Car nous avons péché contre l’Éternel, notre Dieu, Nous et nos pères, dès notre jeunesse jusqu’à ce jour, Et nous n’avons pas écouté la voix de l’Éternel, notre Dieu.

Jeremiah 3
1 They say, If a man put away his wife, and she go from him, and become another man’s, shall he return unto her again? shall not that land be greatly polluted? but thou hast played the harlot with many lovers; yet return again to me, saith the Lord.
2 Lift up thine eyes unto the high places, and see where thou hast not been lien with. In the ways hast thou sat for them, as the Arabian in the wilderness; and thou hast polluted the land with thy whoredoms and with thy wickedness.
3 Therefore the showers have been withholden, and there hath been no latter rain; and thou hadst a whore’s forehead, thou refusedst to be ashamed.
4 Wilt thou not from this time cry unto me, My father, thou art the guide of my youth?
5 Will he reserve his anger for ever? will he keep it to the end? Behold, thou hast spoken and done evil things as thou couldest.
6 The Lord said also unto me in the days of Josiah the king, Hast thou seen that which backsliding Israel hath done? she is gone up upon every high mountain and under every green tree, and there hath played the harlot.
7 And I said after she had done all these things, Turn thou unto me. But she returned not. And her treacherous sister Judah saw it.
8 And I saw, when for all the causes whereby backsliding Israel committed adultery I had put her away, and given her a bill of divorce; yet her treacherous sister Judah feared not, but went and played the harlot also.
9 And it came to pass through the lightness of her whoredom, that she defiled the land, and committed adultery with stones and with stocks.
10 And yet for all this her treacherous sister Judah hath not turned unto me with her whole heart, but feignedly, saith the Lord.
11 And the Lord said unto me, The backsliding Israel hath justified herself more than treacherous Judah.
12 Go and proclaim these words toward the north, and say, Return, thou backsliding Israel, saith the Lord; and I will not cause mine anger to fall upon you: for I am merciful, saith the Lord, and I will not keep anger for ever.
13 Only acknowledge thine iniquity, that thou hast transgressed against the Lord thy God, and hast scattered thy ways to the strangers under every green tree, and ye have not obeyed my voice, saith the Lord.
14 Turn, O backsliding children, saith the Lord; for I am married unto you: and I will take you one of a city, and two of a family, and I will bring you to Zion:
15 And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding.
16 And it shall come to pass, when ye be multiplied and increased in the land, in those days, saith the Lord, they shall say no more, The ark of the covenant of the Lord: neither shall it come to mind: neither shall they remember it; neither shall they visit it; neither shall that be done any more.
17 At that time they shall call Jerusalem the throne of the Lord; and all the nations shall be gathered unto it, to the name of the Lord, to Jerusalem: neither shall they walk any more after the imagination of their evil heart.
18 In those days the house of Judah shall walk with the house of Israel, and they shall come together out of the land of the north to the land that I have given for an inheritance unto your fathers.
19 But I said, How shall I put thee among the children, and give thee a pleasant land, a goodly heritage of the hosts of nations? and I said, Thou shalt call me, My father; and shalt not turn away from me.
20 Surely as a wife treacherously departeth from her husband, so have ye dealt treacherously with me, O house of Israel, saith the Lord.
21 A voice was heard upon the high places, weeping and supplications of the children of Israel: for they have perverted their way, and they have forgotten the Lord their God.
22 Return, ye backsliding children, and I will heal your backslidings. Behold, we come unto thee; for thou art the Lord our God.
23 Truly in vain is salvation hoped for from the hills, and from the multitude of mountains: truly in the Lord our God is the salvation of Israel.
24 For shame hath devoured the labour of our fathers from our youth; their flocks and their herds, their sons and their daughters.
25 We lie down in our shame, and our confusion covereth us: for we have sinned against the Lord our God, we and our fathers, from our youth even unto this day, and have not obeyed the voice of the Lord our God.
