Sòm 124
1 Se yon chante David pou yo chante lè y’ap moute lavil Jerizalèm. Si Seyè a pa t’ kanpe pou nou, ki jan sa ta ye! Se pou pèp Izrayèl la rekonèt sa.
2 Wi, si Seyè a pa t’ kanpe pou nou, lè moun yo te leve dèyè nou an,
3 yo ta vale nou tou vivan, lè yo te move sou nou an.
4 Dlo ta kouvri nou, lavalas ta pase sou nou.
5 Wi, lavalas ta pote nou ale.
6 Ann fè lwanj Seyè a ki pa kite lènmi nou yo devore nou.
7 Nou chape tankou yon ti zwezo ki chape soti nan pèlen chasè. Fil pèlen an kase. Nou chape, n’ ale.
8 Se Seyè a k’ap pote nou sekou, se li menm ki fè syèl la ak latè a.

1 Cantique des degrés. De David. Sans l’Éternel qui nous protégea, Qu’Israël le dise!
2 Sans l’Éternel qui nous protégea, Quand les hommes s’élevèrent contre nous,
3 Ils nous auraient engloutis tout vivants, Quand leur colère s’enflamma contre nous;
4 Alors les eaux nous auraient submergés, Les torrents auraient passé sur notre âme;
5 Alors auraient passé sur notre âme Les flots impétueux.
6 Béni soit l’Éternel, Qui ne nous a pas livrés en proie à leurs dents!
7 Notre âme s’est échappée comme l’oiseau du filet des oiseleurs; Le filet s’est rompu, et nous nous sommes échappés.
8 Notre secours est dans le nom de l’Éternel, Qui a fait les cieux et la terre.

1 If it had not been the Lord who was on our side, now may Israel say;
2 If it had not been the Lord who was on our side, when men rose up against us:
3 Then they had swallowed us up quick, when their wrath was kindled against us:
4 Then the waters had overwhelmed us, the stream had gone over our soul:
5 Then the proud waters had gone over our soul.
6 Blessed be the Lord, who hath not given us as a prey to their teeth.
7 Our soul is escaped as a bird out of the snare of the fowlers: the snare is broken, and we are escaped.
8 Our help is in the name of the Lord, who made heaven and earth.
