1 Se konsa David te di: -Se la Tanp Bondye Seyè a ye, ansanm ak lotèl pou boule bèt yo ofri bay Bondye pou pèp Izrayèl la.
2 David bay lòd pou tout moun lòt nasyon k’ap viv nan peyi Izrayèl la reyini. Li moute chantye kote pou taye wòch pou bati Tanp Bondye a.
3 Li fè pare fè an kantite pou fè klou ak kranpon pou batan pòt yo. Pou kwiv la menm, moun pa ka kalkile kantite li te fè pare.
4 Pou bwa sèd, moun peyi Sidon ak moun lavil Tir te fè David jwenn sa an kantite.
5 David t’ap di nan kè l’: Salomon, pitit gason m’ lan, se yon timoun ki poko gen esperyans. Tanp li gen pou l’ bati pou Seyè a, se li ki pou pi gwo, pi bèl pase dènye tanp, pou toupatou sou latè y’ap pale sou li. Se pou m’ pare tout bagay kite pou li. Se konsa, anvan li mouri, David pare materyo an kantite kite la pou sa.
6 Lèfini, li voye chache Salomon, pitit gason l’ lan, li ba li lòd pou li bati Tanp Seyè a, Bondye pèp Izrayèl la.
7 Li di l’ konsa: -Pitit mwen, mwen te fè lide bati yon tanp pou Seyè a, Bondye mwen an.
8 Men Seyè a fè m’ konnen mwen touye twòp moun, mwen fè anpil lagè. Se poutèt sa se pa mwen ki pral bati tanp lan pou li, paske mwen fè twòp san koule.
9 Men li di m’ konsa: Ou pral gen yon pitit gason ki p’ap nan touye moun li menm. M’ap fè tout lènmi l’ yo toupatou viv byen ak li tou. Se poutèt sa y’a rele l’ Salomon. Sou rèy li, peyi Izrayèl la ap viv ak ke poze, san danje ni malè.
10 Se li menm ki va bati yon tanp pou mwen. L’ap yon pitit pou mwen, mwen menm m’ap yon papa pou li. M’ap fè l’ toujou gen yon moun nan fanmi l’ wa pou gouvènen pèp Izrayèl la.
11 Koulye a, pitit mwen, se pou Seyè a, Bondye w’ap sèvi a, toujou kanpe la avè ou pou ou ka rive bati Tanp lan pou li, jan li te pwomèt ou sa.
12 Mwen mande Seyè a pou l’ ba ou bon konprann ak anpil lespri, pou lè l’a mete ou chèf nan peyi Izrayèl la, ou ka toujou fè tou sa ki nan Lalwa Seyè a, Bondye ou la.
13 Konsa, tout bagay va mache byen pou ou si ou veye kò ou pou ou mennen bak ou dapre lòd ak regleman Seyè a te bay Moyiz pou pèp Izrayèl la. Mete gason sou ou, kenbe fèm! Pa kite anyen fè ou pè.
14 Gade! Mwen bay kò m’ anpil traka pou m’ pare tout bagay pou Tanp Seyè a: twamil twasan (3.300) tòn lò, tranntwamil (33.000) tòn ajan, ak yon gwo kantite kwiv ak fè moun pa ka kalkile. M’ pare bwa ak wòch tou. Men, se pou ou fè pare toujou.
15 Lèfini, w’ap jwenn anpil travayè, kantonye, moun pou taye wòch, chapant, ak anpil moun ki bòs nan tout kalite travay.
16 Pou lò, ajan, kwiv ak fè, ou gen sa an kantite. Konsa, mete men nan travay la! Mwen mande pou Seyè a toujou kanpe la avè ou.
17 Apre sa, David mande tout chèf pèp Izrayèl yo pou yo ede Salomon, pitit gason l’ lan.
18 Li di yo konsa: -Seyè a, Bondye nou an, te toujou la avèk nou. Li fè nou viv nan lapè ak tout moun toupatou. Li lage nan men mwen tout lòt moun ki rete nan peyi a, kifè tout peyi a soumèt nèt devan Seyè a ak devan pèp li a.
19 Koulye a, se pou nou pran desizyon chache fè volonte Seyè a, Bondye nou an, ak tout kè nou, ak tout nanm nou. Pare kò nou pou nou bati tanp Seyè a, Bondye nou an, pou nou ka mete Bwat Kontra Seyè a ak tout lòt bagay yo mete apa pou fè sèvis Seyè a ladan l’.

1 Et David dit: Ici sera la maison de l’Éternel Dieu, et ici sera l’autel des holocaustes pour Israël.
2 David fit rassembler les étrangers qui étaient dans le pays d’Israël, et il chargea des tailleurs de pierres de préparer des pierres de taille pour la construction de la maison de Dieu.
3 Il prépara aussi du fer en abondance pour les clous des battants des portes et pour les crampons, de l’airain en quantité telle qu’il n’était pas possible de le peser,
4 et des bois de cèdre sans nombre, car les Sidoniens et les Tyriens avaient amené à David des bois de cèdre en abondance.
5 David disait: Mon fils Salomon est jeune et d’un âge faible, et la maison qui sera bâtie à l’Éternel s’élèvera à un haut degré de renommée et de gloire dans tous les pays; c’est pourquoi je veux faire pour lui des préparatifs. Et David fit beaucoup de préparatifs avant sa mort.
6 David appela Salomon, son fils, et lui ordonna de bâtir une maison à l’Éternel, le Dieu d’Israël.
7 David dit à Salomon: Mon fils, j’avais l’intention de bâtir une maison au nom de l’Éternel, mon Dieu.
8 Mais la parole de l’Éternel m’a été ainsi adressée: Tu as versé beaucoup de sang, et tu as fait de grandes guerres; tu ne bâtiras pas une maison à mon nom, car tu as versé devant moi beaucoup de sang sur la terre.
9 Voici, il te naîtra un fils, qui sera un homme de repos, et à qui je donnerai du repos en le délivrant de tous ses ennemis d’alentour; car Salomon sera son nom, et je ferai venir sur Israël la paix et la tranquillité pendant sa vie.
10 Ce sera lui qui bâtira une maison à mon nom. Il sera pour moi un fils, et je serai pour lui un père; et j’affermirai pour toujours le trône de son royaume en Israël.
11 Maintenant, mon fils, que l’Éternel soit avec toi, afin que tu prospères et que tu bâtisses la maison de l’Éternel, ton Dieu, comme il l’a déclaré à ton égard!
12 Veuille seulement l’Éternel t’accorder de la sagesse et de l’intelligence, et te faire régner sur Israël dans l’observation de la loi de l’Éternel, ton Dieu!
13 Alors tu prospéreras, si tu as soin de mettre en pratique les lois et les ordonnances que l’Éternel a prescrites à Moïse pour Israël. Fortifie-toi et prends courage, ne crains point et ne t’effraie point.
14 Voici, par mes efforts, j’ai préparé pour la maison de l’Éternel cent mille talents d’or, un million de talents d’argent, et une quantité d’airain et de fer qu’il n’est pas possible de peser, car il y en a en abondance; j’ai aussi préparé du bois et des pierres, et tu en ajouteras encore.
15 Tu as auprès de toi un grand nombre d’ouvriers, des tailleurs de pierres, et des charpentiers, et des hommes habiles dans toute espèce d’ouvrages.
16 L’or, l’argent, l’airain et le fer, sont sans nombre. Lève-toi et agis, et que l’Éternel soit avec toi!
17 David ordonna à tous les chefs d’Israël de venir en aide à Salomon, son fils.
18 L’Éternel, votre Dieu, n’est-il pas avec vous, et ne vous a-t-il pas donné du repos de tous côtés? Car il a livré entre mes mains les habitants du pays, et le pays est assujetti devant l’Éternel et devant son peuple.
19 Appliquez maintenant votre coeur et votre âme à chercher l’Éternel, votre Dieu; levez-vous, et bâtissez le sanctuaire de l’Éternel Dieu, afin d’amener l’arche de l’alliance de l’Éternel et les ustensiles consacrés à Dieu dans la maison qui sera bâtie au nom de l’Éternel.

1 Then David said, This is the house of the Lord God, and this is the altar of the burnt offering for Israel.
2 And David commanded to gather together the strangers that were in the land of Israel; and he set masons to hew wrought stones to build the house of God.
3 And David prepared iron in abundance for the nails for the doors of the gates, and for the joinings; and brass in abundance without weight;
4 Also cedar trees in abundance: for the Zidonians and they of Tyre brought much cedar wood to David.
5 And David said, Solomon my son is young and tender, and the house that is to be builded for the Lord must be exceeding magnifical, of fame and of glory throughout all countries: I will therefore now make preparation for it. So David prepared abundantly before his death.
6 Then he called for Solomon his son, and charged him to build an house for the Lord God of Israel.
7 And David said to Solomon, My son, as for me, it was in my mind to build an house unto the name of the Lord my God:
8 But the word of the Lord came to me, saying, Thou hast shed blood abundantly, and hast made great wars: thou shalt not build an house unto my name, because thou hast shed much blood upon the earth in my sight.
9 Behold, a son shall be born to thee, who shall be a man of rest; and I will give him rest from all his enemies round about: for his name shall be Solomon, and I will give peace and quietness unto Israel in his days.
10 He shall build an house for my name; and he shall be my son, and I will be his father; and I will establish the throne of his kingdom over Israel for ever.
11 Now, my son, the Lord be with thee; and prosper thou, and build the house of the Lord thy God, as he hath said of thee.
12 Only the Lord give thee wisdom and understanding, and give thee charge concerning Israel, that thou mayest keep the law of the Lord thy God.
13 Then shalt thou prosper, if thou takest heed to fulfil the statutes and judgments which the Lord charged Moses with concerning Israel: be strong, and of good courage; dread not, nor be dismayed.
14 Now, behold, in my trouble I have prepared for the house of the Lord an hundred thousand talents of gold, and a thousand thousand talents of silver; and of brass and iron without weight; for it is in abundance: timber also and stone have I prepared; and thou mayest add thereto.
15 Moreover there are workmen with thee in abundance, hewers and workers of stone and timber, and all manner of cunning men for every manner of work.
16 Of the gold, the silver, and the brass, and the iron, there is no number. Arise therefore, and be doing, and the Lord be with thee.
17 David also commanded all the princes of Israel to help Solomon his son, saying,
18 Is not the Lord your God with you? and hath he not given you rest on every side? for he hath given the inhabitants of the land into mine hand; and the land is subdued before the Lord, and before his people.
19 Now set your heart and your soul to seek the Lord your God; arise therefore, and build ye the sanctuary of the Lord God, to bring the ark of the covenant of the Lord, and the holy vessels of God, into the house that is to be built to the name of the Lord.
