3 Wa Izrayèl la di chèf li yo: -Nou konnen lavil Ramòt ki nan peyi Galarad la se pou nou li ye. Poukisa nou pa fè anyen pou nou reprann li nan men wa peyi Siri a?
4 Lèfini li mande Jozafa: -Eske w’ap vin avè m’ pou atake lavil Ramòt nan peyi Galarad la? Jozafa reponn li: -Mwen menm ak tout sòlda mwen yo ak kavalye mwen yo, nou avè ou ansanm ak pèp ou a: se yonn lan nou ye.
5 Apre sa, Jozafa di Akab, wa peyi Izrayèl la: -Annou mande Seyè a sa li di nan sa.
6 Se konsa Akab reyini katsan (400) pwofèt li yo, li mande yo: -Eske se pou m’ al atake lavil Ramòt nan peyi Galarad la, osinon èske se pou m’ kite sa? Yo reponn li: -Atake l’, monwa! Seyè a ap lage l’ nan men ou.
7 Lè sa a, Jozafa di konsa: -Pa gen lòt pwofèt nou ta ka mande si se volonte Seyè a pou n’ al fè sa vre?
8 Akab reponn: -Gen yon lòt pwofèt ankò ki ta ka fè sa pou nou. Se Miche, pitit gason Jimla a. Men, m’ rayi l’, paske li pa janm di anyen ki pou bon pou mwen. Li toujou wè malè pou mwen. Jozafa reponn: -Pa di sa, monchè!
9 Se konsa Akab rele yonn nan nèg konfyans li yo, li di li: -Prese al chache Miche, pitit gason Jimla a, pou mwen.
10 Wa peyi Izrayèl la ak Jozafa, wa peyi Jida a, te chita, yo chak sou fotèy pa yo ak bèl rad wa yo sou yo, sou gwo glasi ki bò pòtay lavil Samari a sou deyò. Tout pwofèt yo te la devan yo ap bay mesaj pa yo.
11 Yonn ladan yo te rele Sedesyas. Se te pitit Kenana. Li fè fè de kòn an fè. Li di: -Men sa Seyè a di: Avèk kòn sa yo, ou pral atake moun Siri yo, ou pral fini ak yo.
12 Tout lòt pwofèt yo t’ap bay menm mesaj la tou. Yo t’ap di: -Ou mèt al atake Ramòt nan peyi Galarad. W’ap bon. Seyè a ap lage lavil la nan men ou.
13 Mesaje ki te pati al rele Miche a di Miche konsa: -Tout lòt pwofèt yo te pale anfavè wa a. Ranje kò ou pou pale tankou yo tout. Pale anfavè wa a.
14 Men, Miche reponn li: -Mwen pran Seyè a, Bondye vivan an, sèvi m’ temwen. Sa Seyè a va di m’ di se sa m’a di.
15 Lè Miche rive devan wa a, wa a di l’ konsa: -Miche, èske se pou m’ al atake lavil Ramòt nan peyi Galarad, osinon èske sè pou m’ kite sa? Miche reponn: -Ou mèt al atake Ramòt nan peyi Galarad. W’ap bon. Seyè a ap lage lavil la nan men ou.
16 Men Akab di li: -Konbe fwa pou m’ di ou lè w’ap pale avè m’ nan non Seyè a se pou di m’ laverite?
17 Lè sa a, Miche reponn li: -Mwen wè tout sòlda pèp Izrayèl yo gaye toupatou sou mòn yo, tankou yon bann mouton san gadò. Seyè a di: Moun sa yo san chèf. Kite yo tounen lakay yo ak kè poze.
18 Akab, wa peyi Izrayèl la, di Jozafa: -Mwen pa t’ di ou li pa janm di anyen ki bon pou mwen. Li toujou wè malè pou mwen.
19 Miche pran lapawòl ankò li di: -Bon! Koute mesaj Seyè a. Mwen te wè Seyè a chita sou fotèy li nan syèl la, avèk tout zanj li yo kanpe bò kote l’, sou bò dwat ak sou bò gòch li.
20 Seyè a t’ap mande ki moun ki vle al pran tèt Akab pou l’ al fè yo touye l’ lavil Ramòt. Gen zanj ki di yon bagay, gen lòt zanj ki di yon lòt bagay.
21 Se lè sa a, yon lespri vanse devan Seyè a, li di: Mwen pral pran tèt li.
22 Seyè a mande l’: Ki jan? Lespri a reponn: Mwen pral mete pawòl manti nan bouch pwofèt Akab yo. Seyè a di l’: W’a pran tèt li vre konsa. Ou mèt al fè jan ou di a.
23 Koulye a, ou konnen si Seyè a te mete yon lespri mantò sou pwofèt ou yo pou yo ba ou manti, se paske li pran desizyon pou l’ fini avè ou.
24 Lè sa a, Sedesyas, pitit Kenana a, mache sou Miche, li flanke li yon souflèt. Epi li di l’: -Depi kilè lespri Bondye a kite m’ pou se nan bouch ou l’ap pale a?
25 Miche reponn li: -W’a konn sa lè w’a kouri pase soti nan yon chanm antre nan yon lòt pou al kache jouk nan fon!
26 Se konsa, wa Akab pase yon lòd, li di: -Pran Miche. Mennen l’ bay Amon, gouvènè lavil la, ak Joas, pitit wa a.
27 Di yo mwen bay lòd pou yo mete l’ nan prizon, pou yo ba li renk pen ak dlo jouk m’a tounen soti nan lagè a san danje ni malè.
28 Lè sa a, Miche di: -Si ou tounen soti nan lagè a san danje ni malè vre, w’a konnen Seyè a pa t’ pale nan bouch mwen. Lèfini, li di: -Nou tout pèp yo, koute sa m’ di la a wi!
29 Se konsa Akab, wa peyi Izrayèl la ansanm ak Jozafa, wa peyi Jida a, moute al atake lavil Ramòt nan peyi Galarad.
30 Akab di Jozafa konsa: -Mwen pral mete yon lòt rad sou mwen anvan m’ al goumen an, pou moun pa rekonèt mwen. Ou menm, ou mèt mete rad wa ou sou ou. Se konsa wa peyi Izrayèl la chanje rad sou li pou moun pa rekonèt li. Apre sa, l’ al goumen.
31 Men, wa peyi Siri a te bay trannde chèf ki t’ap kòmande cha lagè yo pou yo pa atake pesonn pase wa peyi Izrayèl la.
32 Se konsa, lè kòmandan cha lagè yo wè Jozafa, yo tout te konprann se li ki te wa peyi Izrayèl la. Yo vire sou li pou atake l’. Men, Jozafa rele anmwe.
33 Lè mesye yo tande sa, yo wè se pa t’ wa peyi Izrayèl la. Yo rete sou sa yo te vle fè a.
34 Lè sa a, yon sòlda peyi Siri a rete konsa li voye yon flèch. Flèch la al pran Akab, wa Izrayèl la, nan fant rad lagè ki te sou li a. Wa a di sòlda ki t’ap mennen cha li a: -Kase tèt tounen. Annou kite batay la, paske mwen blese grav.
35 Jou sa a, batay la te makònen anpil. Wa Akab menm te blije rete kanpe sou cha li a ap gade moun peyi Siri yo. San t’ap koule soti kote li te blese a, li sal tout anndan cha a. Rive aswè, li mouri.
36 Lè solèy pral kouche, yon vwa pran pale nan zòrèy sòlda pèp Izrayèl yo, li t’ap di: -Chak moun al nan peyi yo, chak moun al lakay yo,
37 paske wa a mouri. Apre sa, yo mennen kadav wa a lavil Samari. Se la yo antere l’.

48 Jozafa te fè fè kèk gwo batiman, tankou batiman moun Tasis yo, pou al chache lò nan peyi Ofi. Men, batiman yo pa janm rive al fè vwayaj la, paske yo kraze bò Ezyongebè.
49 Lè sa a, Okozyas, pitit Akab la, ofri pou maren peyi Izrayèl yo ale ansanm ak maren peyi Jida yo sou batiman pa yo. Men, Jozafa derefize.

1 On resta trois ans sans qu’il y eût guerre entre la Syrie et Israël.
2 La troisième année, Josaphat, roi de Juda, descendit auprès du roi d’Israël.
3 Le roi d’Israël dit à ses serviteurs: Savez-vous que Ramoth en Galaad est à nous? Et nous ne nous inquiétons pas de la reprendre des mains du roi de Syrie!
4 Et il dit à Josaphat: Veux-tu venir avec moi attaquer Ramoth en Galaad? Josaphat répondit au roi d’Israël: Nous irons, moi comme toi, mon peuple comme ton peuple, mes chevaux comme tes chevaux.
5 Puis Josaphat dit au roi d’Israël: Consulte maintenant, je te prie, la parole de l’Éternel.
6 Le roi d’Israël assembla les prophètes, au nombre d’environ quatre cents, et leur dit: Irai-je attaquer Ramoth en Galaad, ou dois-je y renoncer? Et ils répondirent: Monte, et le Seigneur la livrera entre les mains du roi.
7 Mais Josaphat dit: N’y a-t-il plus ici aucun prophète de l’Éternel, par qui nous puissions le consulter?
8 Le roi d’Israël répondit à Josaphat: Il y a encore un homme par qui l’on pourrait consulter l’Éternel; mais je le hais, car il ne me prophétise rien de bon, il ne prophétise que du mal: c’est Michée, fils de Jimla. Et Josaphat dit: Que le roi ne parle pas ainsi!
9 Alors le roi d’Israël appela un eunuque, et dit: Fais venir de suite Michée, fils de Jimla.
10 Le roi d’Israël et Josaphat, roi de Juda, étaient assis chacun sur son trône, revêtus de leurs habits royaux, dans la place à l’entrée de la porte de Samarie. Et tous les prophètes prophétisaient devant eux.
11 Sédécias, fils de Kenaana, s’était fait des cornes de fer, et il dit: Ainsi parle l’Éternel: Avec ces cornes tu frapperas les Syriens jusqu’à les détruire.
12 Et tous les prophètes prophétisaient de même, en disant: Monte à Ramoth en Galaad! tu auras du succès, et l’Éternel la livrera entre les mains du roi.
13 Le messager qui était allé appeler Michée lui parla ainsi: Voici, les prophètes, d’un commun accord, prophétisent du bien au roi; que ta parole soit donc comme la parole de chacun d’eux! annonce du bien!
14 Michée répondit: L’Éternel est vivant! j’annoncerai ce que l’Éternel me dira.
15 Lorsqu’il fut arrivé auprès du roi, le roi lui dit: Michée, irons-nous attaquer Ramoth en Galaad, ou devons-nous y renoncer? Il lui répondit: Monte! tu auras du succès, et l’Éternel la livrera entre les mains du roi.
16 Et le roi lui dit: Combien de fois me faudra-t-il te faire jurer de ne me dire que la vérité au nom de l’Éternel?
17 Michée répondit: Je vois tout Israël dispersé sur les montagnes, comme des brebis qui n’ont point de berger; et l’Éternel dit: Ces gens n’ont point de maître, que chacun retourne en paix dans sa maison!
18 Le roi d’Israël dit à Josaphat: Ne te l’ai-je pas dit? Il ne prophétise sur moi rien de bon, il ne prophétise que du mal.
19 Et Michée dit: Écoute donc la parole de l’Éternel! J’ai vu l’Éternel assis sur son trône, et toute l’armée des cieux se tenant auprès de lui, à sa droite et à sa gauche.
20 Et l’Éternel dit: Qui séduira Achab, pour qu’il monte à Ramoth en Galaad et qu’il y périsse? Ils répondirent l’un d’une manière, l’autre d’une autre.
21 Et un esprit vint se présenter devant l’Éternel, et dit: Moi, je le séduirai. L’Éternel lui dit: Comment?
22 Je sortirai, répondit-il, et je serai un esprit de mensonge dans la bouche de tous ses prophètes. L’Éternel dit: Tu le séduiras, et tu en viendras à bout; sors, et fais ainsi!
23 Et maintenant, voici, l’Éternel a mis un esprit de mensonge dans la bouche de tous tes prophètes qui sont là. Et l’Éternel a prononcé du mal contre toi.
24 Alors Sédécias, fils de Kenaana, s’étant approché, frappa Michée sur la joue, et dit: Par où l’esprit de l’Éternel est-il sorti de moi pour te parler?
25 Michée répondit: Tu le verras au jour où tu iras de chambre en chambre pour te cacher.
26 Le roi d’Israël dit: Prends Michée, et emmène-le vers Amon, chef de la ville, et vers Joas, fils du roi.
27 Tu diras: Ainsi parle le roi: Mettez cet homme en prison, et nourrissez-le du pain et de l’eau d’affliction, jusqu’à ce que je revienne en paix.
28 Et Michée dit: Si tu reviens en paix, l’Éternel n’a point parlé par moi. Il dit encore: Vous tous, peuples, entendez!
29 Le roi d’Israël et Josaphat, roi de Juda, montèrent à Ramoth en Galaad.
30 Le roi d’Israël dit à Josaphat: Je veux me déguiser pour aller au combat; mais toi, revêts-toi de tes habits. Et le roi d’Israël se déguisa, et alla au combat.
31 Le roi de Syrie avait donné cet ordre aux trente-deux chefs de ses chars: Vous n’attaquerez ni petits ni grands, mais vous attaquerez seulement le roi d’Israël.
32 Quand les chefs des chars aperçurent Josaphat, ils dirent: Certainement, c’est le roi d’Israël. Et ils s’approchèrent de lui pour l’attaquer. Josaphat poussa un cri.
33 Les chefs des chars, voyant que ce n’était pas le roi d’Israël, s’éloignèrent de lui.
34 Alors un homme tira de son arc au hasard, et frappa le roi d’Israël au défaut de la cuirasse. Le roi dit à celui qui dirigeait son char: Tourne, et fais-moi sortir du champ de bataille, car je suis blessé.
35 Le combat devint acharné ce jour-là. Le roi fut retenu dans son char en face des Syriens, et il mourut le soir. Le sang de la blessure coula dans l’intérieur du char.
36 Au coucher du soleil, on cria par tout le camp: Chacun à sa ville et chacun dans son pays!
37 Ainsi mourut le roi, qui fut ramené à Samarie; et on enterra le roi à Samarie.
38 Lorsqu’on lava le char à l’étang de Samarie, les chiens léchèrent le sang d’Achab, et les prostituées s’y baignèrent, selon la parole que l’Éternel avait prononcée.
39 Le reste des actions d’Achab, tout ce qu’il a fait, la maison d’ivoire qu’il construisit, et toutes les villes qu’il a bâties, cela n’est-il pas écrit dans le livre des Chroniques des rois d’Israël?
40 Achab se coucha avec ses pères. Et Achazia, son fils, régna à sa place.
41 Josaphat, fils d’Asa, régna sur Juda, la quatrième année d’Achab, roi d’Israël.
42 Josaphat avait trente-cinq ans lorsqu’il devint roi, et il régna vingt cinq ans à Jérusalem. Sa mère s’appelait Azuba, fille de Schilchi.
43 Il marcha dans toute la voie d’Asa, son père, et ne s’en détourna point, faisant ce qui est droit aux yeux de l’Éternel. (22:44) Seulement, les hauts lieux ne disparurent point; le peuple offrait encore des sacrifices et des parfums sur les hauts lieux.
44 (22:45) Josaphat fut en paix avec le roi d’Israël.
45 (22:46) Le reste des actions de Josaphat, ses exploits et ses guerres, cela n’est-il pas écrit dans le livre des Chroniques des rois de Juda?
46 (22:47) Il ôta du pays le reste des prostitués, qui s’y trouvaient encore depuis le temps d’Asa, son père.
47 (22:48) Il n’y avait point de roi en Édom: c’était un intendant qui gouvernait.
48 (22:49) Josaphat construisit des navires de Tarsis pour aller à Ophir chercher de l’or; mais il n’y alla point, parce que les navires se brisèrent à Etsjon Guéber.
49 (22:50) Alors Achazia, fils d’Achab, dit à Josaphat: Veux-tu que mes serviteurs aillent avec les tiens sur des navires? Et Josaphat ne voulut pas.
50 (22:51) Josaphat se coucha avec ses pères, et il fut enterré avec ses pères dans la ville de David, son père. Et Joram, son fils, régna à sa place.
51 (22:52) Achazia, fils d’Achab, régna sur Israël à Samarie, la dix-septième année de Josaphat, roi de Juda. Il régna deux ans sur Israël.
52 (22:53) Il fit ce qui est mal aux yeux de l’Éternel, et il marcha dans la voie de son père et dans la voie de sa mère, et dans la voie de Jéroboam, fils de Nebath, qui avait fait pécher Israël.
53 (22:54) Il servit Baal et se prosterna devant lui, et il irrita l’Éternel, le Dieu d’Israël, comme avait fait son père.

1 And they continued three years without war between Syria and Israel.
2 And it came to pass in the third year, that Jehoshaphat the king of Judah came down to the king of Israel.
3 And the king of Israel said unto his servants, Know ye that Ramoth in Gilead is ours, and we be still, and take it not out of the hand of the king of Syria?
4 And he said unto Jehoshaphat, Wilt thou go with me to battle to Ramothgilead? And Jehoshaphat said to the king of Israel, I am as thou art, my people as thy people, my horses as thy horses.
5 And Jehoshaphat said unto the king of Israel, Enquire, I pray thee, at the word of the Lord to day.
6 Then the king of Israel gathered the prophets together, about four hundred men, and said unto them, Shall I go against Ramothgilead to battle, or shall I forbear? And they said, Go up; for the Lord shall deliver it into the hand of the king.
7 And Jehoshaphat said, Is there not here a prophet of the Lord besides, that we might enquire of him?
8 And the king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat, There is yet one man, Micaiah the son of Imlah, by whom we may enquire of the Lord: but I hate him; for he doth not prophesy good concerning me, but evil. And Jehoshaphat said, Let not the king say so.
9 Then the king of Israel called an officer, and said, Hasten hither Micaiah the son of Imlah.
10 And the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat the king of Judah sat each on his throne, having put on their robes, in a void place in the entrance of the gate of Samaria; and all the prophets prophesied before them.
11 And Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah made him horns of iron: and he said, Thus saith the Lord, With these shalt thou push the Syrians, until thou have consumed them.
12 And all the prophets prophesied so, saying, Go up to Ramothgilead, and prosper: for the Lord shall deliver it into the king’s hand.
13 And the messenger that was gone to call Micaiah spake unto him, saying, Behold now, the words of the prophets declare good unto the king with one mouth: let thy word, I pray thee, be like the word of one of them, and speak that which is good.
14 And Micaiah said, As the Lord liveth, what the Lord saith unto me, that will I speak.
15 So he came to the king. And the king said unto him, Micaiah, shall we go against Ramothgilead to battle, or shall we forbear? And he answered him, Go, and prosper: for the Lord shall deliver it into the hand of the king.
16 And the king said unto him, How many times shall I adjure thee that thou tell me nothing but that which is true in the name of the Lord?
17 And he said, I saw all Israel scattered upon the hills, as sheep that have not a shepherd: and the Lord said, These have no master: let them return every man to his house in peace.
18 And the king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat, Did I not tell thee that he would prophesy no good concerning me, but evil?
19 And he said, Hear thou therefore the word of the Lord: I saw the Lord sitting on his throne, and all the host of heaven standing by him on his right hand and on his left.
20 And the Lord said, Who shall persuade Ahab, that he may go up and fall at Ramothgilead? And one said on this manner, and another said on that manner.
21 And there came forth a spirit, and stood before the Lord, and said, I will persuade him.
22 And the Lord said unto him, Wherewith? And he said, I will go forth, and I will be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets. And he said, Thou shalt persuade him, and prevail also: go forth, and do so.
23 Now therefore, behold, the Lord hath put a lying spirit in the mouth of all these thy prophets, and the Lord hath spoken evil concerning thee.
24 But Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah went near, and smote Micaiah on the cheek, and said, Which way went the Spirit of the Lord from me to speak unto thee?
25 And Micaiah said, Behold, thou shalt see in that day, when thou shalt go into an inner chamber to hide thyself.
26 And the king of Israel said, Take Micaiah, and carry him back unto Amon the governor of the city, and to Joash the king’s son;
27 And say, Thus saith the king, Put this fellow in the prison, and feed him with bread of affliction and with water of affliction, until I come in peace.
28 And Micaiah said, If thou return at all in peace, the Lord hath not spoken by me. And he said, Hearken, O people, every one of you.
29 So the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat the king of Judah went up to Ramothgilead.
30 And the king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat, I will disguise myself, and enter into the battle; but put thou on thy robes. And the king of Israel disguised himself, and went into the battle.
31 But the king of Syria commanded his thirty and two captains that had rule over his chariots, saying, Fight neither with small nor great, save only with the king of Israel.
32 And it came to pass, when the captains of the chariots saw Jehoshaphat, that they said, Surely it is the king of Israel. And they turned aside to fight against him: and Jehoshaphat cried out.
33 And it came to pass, when the captains of the chariots perceived that it was not the king of Israel, that they turned back from pursuing him.
34 And a certain man drew a bow at a venture, and smote the king of Israel between the joints of the harness: wherefore he said unto the driver of his chariot, Turn thine hand, and carry me out of the host; for I am wounded.
35 And the battle increased that day: and the king was stayed up in his chariot against the Syrians, and died at even: and the blood ran out of the wound into the midst of the chariot.
36 And there went a proclamation throughout the host about the going down of the sun, saying, Every man to his city, and every man to his own country.
37 So the king died, and was brought to Samaria; and they buried the king in Samaria.
38 And one washed the chariot in the pool of Samaria; and the dogs licked up his blood; and they washed his armour; according unto the word of the Lord which he spake.
39 Now the rest of the acts of Ahab, and all that he did, and the ivory house which he made, and all the cities that he built, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
40 So Ahab slept with his fathers; and Ahaziah his son reigned in his stead.
41 And Jehoshaphat the son of Asa began to reign over Judah in the fourth year of Ahab king of Israel.
42 Jehoshaphat was thirty and five years old when he began to reign; and he reigned twenty and five years in Jerusalem. And his mother’s name was Azubah the daughter of Shilhi.
43 And he walked in all the ways of Asa his father; he turned not aside from it, doing that which was right in the eyes of the Lord: nevertheless the high places were not taken away; for the people offered and burnt incense yet in the high places.
44 And Jehoshaphat made peace with the king of Israel.
45 Now the rest of the acts of Jehoshaphat, and his might that he shewed, and how he warred, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?
46 And the remnant of the sodomites, which remained in the days of his father Asa, he took out of the land.
47 There was then no king in Edom: a deputy was king.
48 Jehoshaphat made ships of Tharshish to go to Ophir for gold: but they went not; for the ships were broken at Eziongeber.
49 Then said Ahaziah the son of Ahab unto Jehoshaphat, Let my servants go with thy servants in the ships. But Jehoshaphat would not.
50 And Jehoshaphat slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David his father: and Jehoram his son reigned in his stead.
51 Ahaziah the son of Ahab began to reign over Israel in Samaria the seventeenth year of Jehoshaphat king of Judah, and reigned two years over Israel.
52 And he did evil in the sight of the Lord, and walked in the way of his father, and in the way of his mother, and in the way of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel to sin:
53 For he served Baal, and worshipped him, and provoked to anger the Lord God of Israel, according to all that his father had done.
