1 Abraram kite Manmre, li pati, li ale Negèv, li rete ant Kadès ak Chour kote li moute kay li. Pandan tout tan li t’ap viv nan peyi Gera a,
2 li t’ap di se sè li Sara te ye. Se konsa, Abimelèk, wa peyi Gera a, fè yo mennen Sara ba li.
3  Men pandan lannwit, Abimelèk fè yon rèv, li wè Bondye parèt devan li. Bondye di l’. Gade non, monchè. Ou pral mouri tande, paske Sara se yon madan marye.
4 Men, Abimelèk pa t’ gen tan kouche avè Sara. Li di. Mèt, èske w’ap kite yon pèp inonsan peri?
5 Se Abraram ki di m’ se sè li Sara ye. Sara pou tèt pa l’ di m’ se frè li Abraram ye. Mwen fè sa m’ fè a san ankenn move lide. Mwen konnen mwen pa fè anyen ki mal.
6 Bondye reponn li nan rèv la. Wi. Mwen konnen ou fè sa ou fè a san ankenn move lide dèyè tèt ou. Se poutèt sa mwen pa kite ou fè peche sa a kont mwen. Mwen pa kite ou fè madanm lan anyen.
7 Men sa pou ou fè: renmèt nonm lan madanm li. Se yon pwofèt Bondye li ye. La lapriyè pou ou pou ou pa mouri. Men, si ou pa renmèt li, mwen tout di ou nou pral mouri, ou menm ansanm ak tout fanmi ou.
8  Nan maten, bonè bonè, Abimelèk rele tout domestik li yo, li rakonte yo tout bagay. Yo tout yo te pè anpil.
9 Lèfini, Abimelèk rele Abraram, li di l’. Kisa ou fè nou konsa? Kisa m’ fè ou pou ou ta lakòz yon gwo malè konsa tonbe sou mwen ak sou peyi a? Sa ou fè nou la a, se bagay moun pa gen dwa fè.
10 Abimelèk di Abraram ankò. Poukisa ou fè sa ou fè a?
11 Abraram reponn li. Mwen te di nan kè m’ pa gen moun ki gen krentif pou Bondye bò isit la. Mwen tè kwè yo ta ka touye m’ poutèt madanm mwen.
12 Men, se vre wi, se sè m’ li ye. Nou menm papa, men nou pa menm manman. Epi se madanm mwen li ye tou.
13 Se konsa, lè Bondye fè m’ kite lakay papa m’ pou m’ al nan peyi etranje yo, mwen di Sara: m’ap mande ou pou rann mwen yon sèvis? Si ou renmen m’ vre, tanpri, kote ou pase, se pou di se frè ou mwen ye.
14  Lè sa a, Abimelèk renmèt Sara bay Abraram. Anmenmtan li ba li mouton, bèf ak domestik, fanm kou gason, pou sèvi l’.
15 Li di Abraram. Gade! tout peyi m’ lan devan ou. Rete kote ki fè ou plezi.
16 Epi li di Sara. Mwen bay frè ou la mil (1.000) pyès lajan. Se pou sa ka fè moun ki la avè ou yo bliye sak te rive ou. Konsa, tout moun va konnen ou pa t’ fè anyen ki mal.
17 –
18 Poutèt sa ki te rive Sara, madanm Abraram lan, Seyè a te fè tout fanm lakay Abimelèk pa t’ kapab fè pitit. Abraram lapriyè pou Abimelèk, epi Bondye geri li. Bondye geri madanm li tout ansanm ak medam k’ap travay lakay li pou yo kapab fè pitit ankò.

Genèse 20

1 Abraham partit de là pour la contrée du midi; il s’établit entre Kadès et Schur, et fit un séjour à Guérar.
2 Abraham disait de Sara, sa femme: C’est ma soeur. Abimélec, roi de Guérar, fit enlever Sara.
3 Alors Dieu apparut en songe à Abimélec pendant la nuit, et lui dit: Voici, tu vas mourir à cause de la femme que tu as enlevée, car elle a un mari.
4 Abimélec, qui ne s’était point approché d’elle, répondit: Seigneur, ferais-tu périr même une nation juste?
5 Ne m’a-t-il pas dit: C’est ma soeur? et elle-même n’a-t-elle pas dit: C’est mon frère? J’ai agi avec un coeur pur et avec des mains innocentes.
6 Dieu lui dit en songe: Je sais que tu as agi avec un coeur pur; aussi t’ai-je empêché de pécher contre moi. C’est pourquoi je n’ai pas permis que tu la touchasse.
7 Maintenant, rends la femme de cet homme; car il est prophète, il priera pour toi, et tu vivras. Mais, si tu ne la rends pas, sache que tu mourras, toi et tout ce qui t’appartient.
8 Abimélec se leva de bon matin, il appela tous ses serviteurs, et leur rapporta toutes ces choses; et ces gens furent saisis d’une grande frayeur.
9 Abimélec appela aussi Abraham, et lui dit: Qu’est-ce que tu nous as fait? Et en quoi t’ai-je offensé, que tu aies fait venir sur moi et sur mon royaume un si grand péché? Tu as commis à mon égard des actes qui ne doivent pas se commettre.
10 Et Abimélec dit à Abraham: Quelle intention avais-tu pour agir de la sorte?
11 Abraham répondit: Je me disais qu’il n’y avait sans doute aucune crainte de Dieu dans ce pays, et que l’on me tuerait à cause de ma femme.
12 De plus, il est vrai qu’elle est ma soeur, fille de mon père; seulement, elle n’est pas fille de ma mère; et elle est devenue ma femme.
13 Lorsque Dieu me fit errer loin de la maison de mon père, je dis à Sara: Voici la grâce que tu me feras; dans tous les lieux où nous irons, dis de moi: C’est mon frère.
14 Abimélec prit des brebis et des boeufs, des serviteurs et des servantes, et les donna à Abraham; et il lui rendit Sara, sa femme.
15 Abimélec dit: Voici, mon pays est devant toi; demeure où il te plaira.
16 Et il dit à Sara: Voici, je donne à ton frère mille pièces d’argent; cela te sera un voile sur les yeux pour tous ceux qui sont avec toi, et auprès de tous tu seras justifiée.
17 Abraham pria Dieu, et Dieu guérit Abimélec, sa femme et ses servantes; et elles purent enfanter.
18 Car l’Éternel avait frappé de stérilité toute la maison d’Abimélec, à cause de Sara, femme d’Abraham.

Genesis 20

1 And Abraham journeyed from thence toward the south country, and dwelled between Kadesh and Shur, and sojourned in Gerar.
2 And Abraham said of Sarah his wife, She is my sister: and Abimelech king of Gerar sent, and took Sarah.
3 But God came to Abimelech in a dream by night, and said to him, Behold, thou art but a dead man, for the woman which thou hast taken; for she is a man’s wife.
4 But Abimelech had not come near her: and he said, Lord, wilt thou slay also a righteous nation?
5 Said he not unto me, She is my sister? and she, even she herself said, He is my brother: in the integrity of my heart and innocency of my hands have I done this.
6 And God said unto him in a dream, Yea, I know that thou didst this in the integrity of thy heart; for I also withheld thee from sinning against me: therefore suffered I thee not to touch her.
7 Now therefore restore the man his wife; for he is a prophet, and he shall pray for thee, and thou shalt live: and if thou restore her not, know thou that thou shalt surely die, thou, and all that are thine.
8 Therefore Abimelech rose early in the morning, and called all his servants, and told all these things in their ears: and the men were sore afraid.
9 Then Abimelech called Abraham, and said unto him, What hast thou done unto us? and what have I offended thee, that thou hast brought on me and on my kingdom a great sin? thou hast done deeds unto me that ought not to be done.
10 And Abimelech said unto Abraham, What sawest thou, that thou hast done this thing?
11 And Abraham said, Because I thought, Surely the fear of God is not in this place; and they will slay me for my wife’s sake.
12 And yet indeed she is my sister; she is the daughter of my father, but not the daughter of my mother; and she became my wife.
13 And it came to pass, when God caused me to wander from my father’s house, that I said unto her, This is thy kindness which thou shalt shew unto me; at every place whither we shall come, say of me, He is my brother.
14 And Abimelech took sheep, and oxen, and menservants, and womenservants, and gave them unto Abraham, and restored him Sarah his wife.
15 And Abimelech said, Behold, my land is before thee: dwell where it pleaseth thee.
16 And unto Sarah he said, Behold, I have given thy brother a thousand pieces of silver: behold, he is to thee a covering of the eyes, unto all that are with thee, and with all other: thus she was reproved.
17 So Abraham prayed unto God: and God healed Abimelech, and his wife, and his maidservants; and they bare children.
18 For the Lord had fast closed up all the wombs of the house of Abimelech, because of Sarah Abraham’s wife.
