Jozye 11
1 Nouvèl tout bagay sa yo rive nan zòrèy Jaben, wa Azò a. Li menm, li voye nouvèl la bay Yobad, wa lavil Madon, bay wa Chimwon ak wa Akchaf,
2 bay tout wa ki rete bò nò a, nan mòn yo, nan fon ki anba Chinawòt, nan plenn yo ak nan koulin Dò yo bò solèy kouche.
3 Li voye nouvèl la bay moun Kanaran yo ki rete sou de bò larivyè Jouden an, bay moun Amori yo, bay moun Evi yo, bay moun Ferezi yo, bay moun Jebis yo nan tout mòn yo, bay moun Evi yo ki rete nan pye mòn Emon nan peyi Mispa.
4 Tout wa yo vini avèk tout sòlda yo. Sa te fè yon gwo lame sòlda pesonn pa t’ ka konte, ou ta di grenn sab bò lanmè, avèk yon kantite chwal ak cha lagè.
5 Wa yo pran randevou, yo mete tout sòlda yo ansanm. Yo rive, yo moute kan yo yonn sou kote lòt, toupre dlo Mewòm yo, pou yo atake pèp Izrayèl la.
6 Seyè a di Jozye konsa: -Ou pa bezwen pè moun sa yo! Denmen, lè konsa, m’ap fè nou wè tout tonbe mouri la devan je nou. Nou menm, nou pral koupe jarèt tout chwal yo, epi n’ap boule cha yo.
7 Se konsa, Jozye rive bò dlo Mewòm lan ak tout sòlda li yo, li tonbe sou lènmi yo san yo pa t’ atann, li atake yo.
8 Seyè a lage yo nan men pèp Izrayèl la: sòlda pèp Izrayèl yo bat yo byen bat. Yo kouri dèyè yo jouk Gwo Sidon ak Misrefòt sou bò nò, jouk Fon Mispa sou bò solèy leve. Yo bat yo nèt, yo pa kite yonn ladan yo chape.
9 Jozye fè yo tou sa Seyè a te ba li lòd fè a: li koupe jarèt chwal yo, li boule tout cha lagè yo.
10 Apre sa, Jozye tounen sou dèyè, li pran lavil Azò, epi li touye wa li a. Lè sa a, Azò te pi gwo lavil nan tout peyi wa yo.
11 Li fè touye dènye moun ak dènye bèt vivan ki te la tankou yon ofrann y’ap fè pou Seyè a. Yo pa kite yonn ladan yo chape. Lèfini, yo mete dife nan lavil la.
12 Jozye pran tout lavil yo ansanm ak wa yo. Epi li fè touye tout wa yo, dapre prensip ki vle pou yo touye yo tankou yon ofrann pou Seyè a, jan Moyiz, sèvitè Seyè a, te kite lòd pou yo fè l’ la.
13 Men, moun Izrayèl yo pa t’ boule ankenn lavil nan lavil ki te bati sou ti mòn yo, an wetan lavil Azò Jozye te fè boule.
14 Moun pèp Izrayèl yo pran tout bagay ak tout bèt yo te jwenn nan lavil yo. Men, yo touye tout moun, yo pa kite yonn chape.
15 Seyè a te bay Moyiz, sèvitè li a, lòd li yo. Moyiz menm te bay Jozye menm lòd yo tou. Se konsa Jozye te fè tou sa Seyè a te bay Moyiz lòd fè, san manke anyen.
16 Jozye ak pèp Izrayèl la te pran tout peyi a nan men moun yo, ki vle di: mòn yo, tout Negèv la, tout peyi Gochenn lan, plenn yo, Fon Jouden an, tout mòn ak tout ti bit peyi Izrayèl yo,
17 depi Mòn Alak ki toupre peyi Seyi a, jouk Baal-Gad ki nan fon Liban an nan pye mòn Emon an. Li mete men sou tout wa yo, li bat yo, li touye yo.
18 Jozye te pase yon bon tan ap fè lagè ak wa sa yo.
19 An wetan lavil Gabawon kote moun Evi yo te rete a, pa t’ gen ankenn lavil ki te vle fè lapè ak moun pèp Izrayèl yo,
20 paske Seyè a te fè tout moun sa yo soti pou goumen ak pèp Izrayèl la. Se pou pèp Izrayèl la te touye tout tankou ofrann pou Seyè a, san pitye pou yo yonn menm, pou yo tout te ka disparèt, jan Seyè a te bay Moyiz lòd la.
21 Lè sa a, Jozye leve, l’ ale, li touye tout moun Anak yo ki te rete nan mòn yo, nan lavil Ebwon, lavil Debi, lavil Anab, nan tout mòn peyi Jida ak tout mòn peyi Izrayèl yo. Li fè touye yo tout. Apre sa, li detwi tout lavil yo tankou ofrann pou Seyè a.
22 Pa t’ gen yon moun Anak ankò nan peyi Izrayèl la, esepte lavil Gaza, lavil Gat ak lavil Asdòd.
23 Jozye te pran tout peyi a, jan Seyè a te di Moyiz la, epi li bay pèp Izrayèl la li pou li rele l’ pa l’. Li separe l’, li bay chak branch fanmi pòsyon pa yo. Apre tout batay sa yo, peyi a t’ap viv nan lapè, pa t’ gen goumen ankò.

Josué 11
1 Jabin, roi de Hatsor, ayant appris ces choses, envoya des messagers à Jobab, roi de Madon, au roi de Schimron, au roi d’Acschaph,
2 aux rois qui étaient au nord dans la montagne, dans la plaine au midi de Kinnéreth, dans la vallée, et sur les hauteurs de Dor à l’occident,
3 aux Cananéens de l’orient et de l’occident, aux Amoréens, aux Héthiens, aux Phéréziens, aux Jébusiens dans la montagne, et aux Héviens au pied de l’Hermon dans le pays de Mitspa.
4 Ils sortirent, eux et toutes leurs armées avec eux, formant un peuple innombrable comme le sable qui est sur le bord de la mer, et ayant des chevaux et des chars en très grande quantité.
5 Tous ces rois fixèrent un lieu de réunion, et vinrent camper ensemble près des eaux de Mérom, pour combattre contre Israël.
6 L’Éternel dit à Josué: Ne les crains point, car demain, à ce moment-ci, je les livrerai tous frappés devant Israël. Tu couperas les jarrets à leurs chevaux, et tu brûleras au feu leurs chars.
7 Josué, avec tous ses gens de guerre, arriva subitement sur eux près des eaux de Mérom, et ils se précipitèrent au milieu d’eux.
8 L’Éternel les livra entre les mains d’Israël; ils les battirent et les poursuivirent jusqu’à Sidon la grande, jusqu’à Misrephoth Maïm, et jusqu’à la vallée de Mitspa vers l’orient; ils les battirent, sans en laisser échapper aucun.
9 Josué les traita comme l’Éternel lui avait dit; il coupa les jarrets à leurs chevaux, et il brûla leurs chars au feu.
10 A son retour, et dans le même temps, Josué prit Hatsor, et frappa son roi avec l’épée: Hatsor était autrefois la principale ville de tous ces royaumes.
11 On frappa du tranchant de l’épée et l’on dévoua par interdit tous ceux qui s’y trouvaient, il ne resta rien de ce qui respirait, et l’on mit le feu à Hatsor.
12 Josué prit aussi toutes les villes de ces rois et tous leurs rois, et il les frappa du tranchant de l’épée, et il les dévoua par interdit, comme l’avait ordonné Moïse, serviteur de l’Éternel.
13 Mais Israël ne brûla aucune des villes situées sur des collines, à l’exception seulement de Hatsor, qui fut brûlée par Josué.
14 Les enfants d’Israël gardèrent pour eux tout le butin de ces villes et le bétail; mais ils frappèrent du tranchant de l’épée tous les hommes, jusqu’à ce qu’ils les eussent détruits, sans rien laisser de ce qui respirait.
15 Josué exécuta les ordres de l’Éternel à Moïse, son serviteur, et de Moïse à Josué; il ne négligea rien de tout ce que l’Éternel avait ordonné à Moïse.
16 C’est ainsi que Josué s’empara de tout ce pays, de la montagne, de tout le midi, de tout le pays de Gosen, de la vallée, de la plaine, de la montagne d’Israël et de ses vallées,
17 depuis la montagne nue qui s’élève vers Séir jusqu’à Baal Gad, dans la vallée du Liban, au pied de la montagne d’Hermon. Il prit tous leurs rois, les frappa et les fit mourir.
18 La guerre que soutint Josué contre tous ces rois fut de longue durée.
19 Il n’y eut aucune ville qui fit la paix avec les enfants d’Israël, excepté Gabaon, habitée par les Héviens; ils les prirent toutes en combattant.
20 Car l’Éternel permit que ces peuples s’obstinassent à faire la guerre contre Israël, afin qu’Israël les dévouât par interdit, sans qu’il y eût pour eux de miséricorde, et qu’il les détruisît, comme l’Éternel l’avait ordonné à Moïse.
21 Dans le même temps, Josué se mit en marche, et il extermina les Anakim de la montagne d’Hébron, de Debir, d’Anab, de toute la montagne de Juda et de toute la montagne d’Israël; Josué les dévoua par interdit, avec leurs villes.
22 Il ne resta point d’Anakim dans le pays des enfants d’Israël; il n’en resta qu’à Gaza, à Gath et à Asdod.
23 Josué s’empara donc de tout le pays, selon tout ce que l’Éternel avait dit à Moïse. Et Josué le donna en héritage à Israël, à chacun sa portion, d’après leurs tribus. Puis, le pays fut en repos et sans guerre.

Joshua 11
1 And it came to pass, when Jabin king of Hazor had heard those things, that he sent to Jobab king of Madon, and to the king of Shimron, and to the king of Achshaph,
2 And to the kings that were on the north of the mountains, and of the plains south of Chinneroth, and in the valley, and in the borders of Dor on the west,
3 And to the Canaanite on the east and on the west, and to the Amorite, and the Hittite, and the Perizzite, and the Jebusite in the mountains, and to the Hivite under Hermon in the land of Mizpeh.
4 And they went out, they and all their hosts with them, much people, even as the sand that is upon the sea shore in multitude, with horses and chariots very many.
5 And when all these kings were met together, they came and pitched together at the waters of Merom, to fight against Israel.
6 And the Lord said unto Joshua, Be not afraid because of them: for to morrow about this time will I deliver them up all slain before Israel: thou shalt hough their horses, and burn their chariots with fire.
7 So Joshua came, and all the people of war with him, against them by the waters of Merom suddenly; and they fell upon them.
8 And the Lord delivered them into the hand of Israel, who smote them, and chased them unto great Zidon, and unto Misrephothmaim, and unto the valley of Mizpeh eastward; and they smote them, until they left them none remaining.
9 And Joshua did unto them as the Lord bade him: he houghed their horses, and burnt their chariots with fire.
10 And Joshua at that time turned back, and took Hazor, and smote the king thereof with the sword: for Hazor beforetime was the head of all those kingdoms.
11 And they smote all the souls that were therein with the edge of the sword, utterly destroying them: there was not any left to breathe: and he burnt Hazor with fire.
12 And all the cities of those kings, and all the kings of them, did Joshua take, and smote them with the edge of the sword, and he utterly destroyed them, as Moses the servant of the Lord commanded.
13 But as for the cities that stood still in their strength, Israel burned none of them, save Hazor only; that did Joshua burn.
14 And all the spoil of these cities, and the cattle, the children of Israel took for a prey unto themselves; but every man they smote with the edge of the sword, until they had destroyed them, neither left they any to breathe.
15 As the Lord commanded Moses his servant, so did Moses command Joshua, and so did Joshua; he left nothing undone of all that the Lord commanded Moses.
16 So Joshua took all that land, the hills, and all the south country, and all the land of Goshen, and the valley, and the plain, and the mountain of Israel, and the valley of the same;
17 Even from the mount Halak, that goeth up to Seir, even unto Baalgad in the valley of Lebanon under mount Hermon: and all their kings he took, and smote them, and slew them.
18 Joshua made war a long time with all those kings.
19 There was not a city that made peace with the children of Israel, save the Hivites the inhabitants of Gibeon: all other they took in battle.
20 For it was of the Lord to harden their hearts, that they should come against Israel in battle, that he might destroy them utterly, and that they might have no favour, but that he might destroy them, as the Lord commanded Moses.
21 And at that time came Joshua, and cut off the Anakims from the mountains, from Hebron, from Debir, from Anab, and from all the mountains of Judah, and from all the mountains of Israel: Joshua destroyed them utterly with their cities.
22 There was none of the Anakims left in the land of the children of Israel: only in Gaza, in Gath, and in Ashdod, there remained.
23 So Joshua took the whole land, according to all that the Lord said unto Moses; and Joshua gave it for an inheritance unto Israel according to their divisions by their tribes. And the land rested from war.
