2 Se konsa, li rive lavil Jerizalèm avèk yon pakèt moun ak anpil chamo chaje fèy santi bon, bèl pyè koute chè ak kantite lò. Lè li rive devan Salomon, li mande l’ tout kalite keksyon li te fè lide mande l’.
3 Salomon menm reponn tout keksyon l’ yo. pa t’ gen anyen ki te twò difisil ni pou li reponn ni pou li esplike.
4 Larenn peyi Saba a wè jan Salomon te gen anpil bon konprann. Li wè palè li te bati a.
5 Li wè kalite manje yo te sèvi sou tab li ak kay li te fè bati pou chèf li yo, jan li te òganize moun k’ap travay nan palè a, rad inifòm yo te genyen, domestik ki t’ap sèvi l’ bweson, ak bèt li te ofri pou boule nèt pou Seyè a nan Tanp lan. Lè li wè tou sa, li pèdi lapawòl tèlman li te sezi.
6 Li di wa Salomon konsa: -Sa m’ te tande nan peyi m’ sou ou ak sou bon konprann ou an, se te vre!
7 Men, mwen pa t’ vle kwè toutotan mwen pa t’ vini wè ak je pa mwen. Men, sa m’ te tande a se pa mwatye sa m’ wè a. Bon konprann ou ak richès ou pi plis pase sa yo te di m’ lan.
8 Ala bèl chans madanm ou yo genyen! Ala bèl chans moun k’ap travay avè ou yo genyen! Yo toujou la devan ou ap tande pawòl bon konprann k’ap soti nan bouch ou!
9 Lwanj pou Seyè a, Bondye ou la! Li moutre jan li kontan avè ou. Li mete ou wa peyi Izrayèl la. Li menm ki renmen peyi Izrayèl la pou tout tan, li mete ou wa pou ou ka kenbe peyi a nan lòd, nan bon chemen san patipri.
10 Larenn lan fè wa a kado senk tòn lò ak kantite fèy santi bon ak anpil pyè koute chè. Wa a pa janm resevwa nan lavi li kantite fèy santi bon larenn Saba te ba li lè sa a.
11 Batiman Iram yo ki te al chache lò nan peyi Ofi, te pote soti nan menm peyi sa a yon gwo kantite bwa koray ak anpil bèl pyè koute chè.
12 Salomon sèvi ak bwa koray la pou fè balistrad nan tanp lan ak nan palè a. Li fè gita ak bandjo pou mizisyen yo ak bwa sa a tou. Se te pi bon kalite bwa koray yo te janm fè antre nan peyi Izrayèl. Depi lè sa a yo pa janm wè sa ankò.
13 Wa Salomon te bay larenn peyi Saba a tou sa li te mande l’, san konte lòt kado li menm, wa Salomon, li te vle ba li. Apre sa, larenn lan tounen nan peyi Saba ansanm ak tout moun ki te avè l’ yo.
14 Chak lanne wa Salomon te resevwa vennsenk tòn lò,
15 san konte lajan li resevwa nan men moun k’ap fè trafik, nan men moun k’ap fè komès, nan men wa peyi Arabi yo ak nan men gouvènè pèp Izrayèl yo.
16 Salomon te fè fè desan (200) gwo plak pwotèj an fè. Lèfini, li fè kouvri yo chak ak yon kouch lò ki peze kenz liv.
17 Li fè fè tou twasan ti plak pwotèj an fè, li fè kouvri yo chak ak yon kouch lò ki peze kat liv. Li mete tout plak pwotèj sa yo nan Salon Rakbwa peyi Liban an.
18 Li fè fè yon gwo fotèy ak kòn elefan. Li fè kouvri l’ ak pi bon kalite lò ki genyen.
19 Pou rive bò fotèy la, se pou ou te moute sis mach eskalye. Dèyè fotèy la te gen pòtre yon gwo tèt towo. Sou kote manch yo sou chak bò, te gen pòtre yon lyon.
20 Te gen douz lyon sou macheskalye yo, de sou chak mach, nan de pwent yo. Pa t’ gen ankenn lòt peyi ki te gen fotèy pou w’a parèy ak fotèy sa a.
21 Tout gode wa Salomon te sèvi pou l’ bwè te fèt an lò. Tout bagay ki te sèvi nan Salon Rakbwa peyi Liban an te fèt ak bon lò. Yo pa t’ sèvi ak ajan menm, paske nan tan Salomon ajan pa t’ vo anyen.
22 Li te gen kantite batiman pa l’ ki t’ap vwayaje toupatou sou lanmè ansanm ak batiman Iram yo. Chak twazan, batiman yo tounen, yo pote lò, ajan, kòn elefan, pan ak makak.
23 Wa Salomon te pi rich pase tout lòt wa yo, li te gen plis bon konprann pase yo tout.
24 Tout moun toupatou te vle vin wè l’ pou tande pawòl bon konprann Bondye te mete nan bouch li.
25 Chak moun ki te vini te pote kado pou li: bagay fèt an ajan ak an lò, rad, zam, fèy santi bon, chwal ak milèt. Chak lanne se te konsa.
26 Salomon te sanble mil katsan (1.400) cha lagè ak douzmil (12.000) chwal pou sòlda kavalye yo. Li mete yon pòsyon ladan yo nan lavil li te fè bati tout espre pou yo. Rès yo, li mete yo bò kote l’ lavil Jerizalèm.
27 Pandan tout rèy wa a, ajan te tankou wòch lavil Jerizalèm. Bwa sèd menm, ou te jwenn sa an kantite tankou pye sikomò nan rakbwa ki nan plenn peyi Jida yo.
28 Chwal Salomon yo te soti nan peyi Lejip ak nan peyi Silisi. Wa a te gen moun pa l’ ki te konn al achte chwal yo pou li la.
29 Chak cha lagè achte nan peyi Lejip te koute sisan (600) pyès ajan, chak chwal te koute sansenkant (150) pyès ajan. Se menm moun sa yo ki te konn al achte chwal pou revann wa peyi Et yo ak wa peyi Siri yo.

1 La reine de Séba apprit la renommée que possédait Salomon, à la gloire de l’Éternel, et elle vint pour l’éprouver par des énigmes.
2 Elle arriva à Jérusalem avec une suite fort nombreuse, et avec des chameaux portant des aromates, de l’or en très grande quantité, et des pierres précieuses. Elle se rendit auprès de Salomon, et elle lui dit tout ce qu’elle avait dans le coeur.
3 Salomon répondit à toutes ses questions, et il n’y eut rien que le roi ne sût lui expliquer.
4 La reine de Séba vit toute la sagesse de Salomon, et la maison qu’il avait bâtie,
5 et les mets de sa table, et la demeure de ses serviteurs, et les fonctions et les vêtements de ceux qui le servaient, et ses échansons, et ses holocaustes qu’il offrait dans la maison de l’Éternel.
6 Hors d’elle même, elle dit au roi: C’était donc vrai ce que j’ai appris dans mon pays au sujet de ta position et de ta sagesse!
7 Je ne le croyais pas, avant d’être venue et d’avoir vu de mes yeux. Et voici, on ne m’en a pas dit la moitié. Tu as plus de sagesse et de prospérité que la renommée ne me l’a fait connaître.
8 Heureux tes gens, heureux tes serviteurs qui sont continuellement devant toi, qui entendent ta sagesse!
9 Béni soit l’Éternel, ton Dieu, qui t’a accordé la faveur de te placer sur le trône d’Israël! C’est parce que l’Éternel aime à toujours Israël, qu’il t’a établi roi pour que tu fasses droit et justice.
10 Elle donna au roi cent vingt talents d’or, une très grande quantité d’aromates, et des pierres précieuses. Il ne vint plus autant d’aromates que la reine de Séba en donna au roi Salomon.
11 Les navires de Hiram, qui apportèrent de l’or d’Ophir, amenèrent aussi d’Ophir une grande quantité de bois de santal et des pierres précieuses.
12 Le roi fit avec le bois de santal des balustrades pour la maison de l’Éternel et pour la maison du roi, et des harpes et des luths pour les chantres. Il ne vint plus de ce bois de santal, et on n’en a plus vu jusqu’à ce jour.
13 Le roi Salomon donna à la reine de Séba tout ce qu’elle désira, ce qu’elle demanda, et lui fit en outre des présents dignes d’un roi tel que Salomon. Puis elle s’en retourna et alla dans son pays, elle et ses serviteurs.
14 Le poids de l’or qui arrivait à Salomon chaque année était de six cent soixante-six talents d’or,
15 outre ce qu’il retirait des négociants et du trafic des marchands, de tous les rois d’Arabie, et des gouverneurs du pays.
16 Le roi Salomon fit deux cents grands boucliers d’or battu, pour chacun desquels il employa six cents sicles d’or,
17 et trois cents autres boucliers d’or battu, pour chacun desquels il employa trois mines d’or; et le roi les mit dans la maison de la forêt du Liban.
18 Le roi fit un grand trône d’ivoire, et le couvrit d’or pur.
19 Ce trône avait six degrés, et la partie supérieure en était arrondie par derrière; il y avait des bras de chaque côté du siège; deux lions étaient près des bras,
20 et douze lions sur les six degrés de part et d’autre. Il ne s’est rien fait de pareil pour aucun royaume.
21 Toutes les coupes du roi Salomon étaient d’or, et toute la vaisselle de la maison de la forêt du Liban était d’or pur. Rien n’était d’argent: on n’en faisait aucun cas du temps de Salomon.
22 Car le roi avait en mer des navires de Tarsis avec ceux de Hiram; et tous les trois ans arrivaient les navires de Tarsis, apportant de l’or et de l’argent, de l’ivoire, des singes et des paons.
23 Le roi Salomon fut plus grand que tous les rois de la terre par les richesses et par la sagesse.
24 Tout le monde cherchait à voir Salomon, pour entendre la sagesse que Dieu avait mise dans son coeur.
25 Et chacun apportait son présent, des objets d’argent et des objets d’or, des vêtements, des armes, des aromates, des chevaux et des mulets; et il en était ainsi chaque année.
26 Salomon rassembla des chars et de la cavalerie; il avait quatorze cents chars et douze mille cavaliers, qu’il plaça dans les villes où il tenait ses chars et à Jérusalem près du roi.
27 Le roi rendit l’argent aussi commun à Jérusalem que les pierres, et les cèdres aussi nombreux que les sycomores qui croissent dans la plaine.
28 C’était de l’Égypte que Salomon tirait ses chevaux; une caravane de marchands du roi les allait chercher par troupes à un prix fixe:
29 un char montait et sortait d’Égypte pour six cents sicles d’argent, et un cheval pour cent cinquante sicles. Ils en amenaient de même avec eux pour tous les rois des Héthiens et pour les rois de Syrie.

1 And when the queen of Sheba heard of the fame of Solomon concerning the name of the Lord, she came to prove him with hard questions.
2 And she came to Jerusalem with a very great train, with camels that bare spices, and very much gold, and precious stones: and when she was come to Solomon, she communed with him of all that was in her heart.
3 And Solomon told her all her questions: there was not any thing hid from the king, which he told her not.
4 And when the queen of Sheba had seen all Solomon’s wisdom, and the house that he had built,
5 And the meat of his table, and the sitting of his servants, and the attendance of his ministers, and their apparel, and his cupbearers, and his ascent by which he went up unto the house of the Lord; there was no more spirit in her.
6 And she said to the king, It was a true report that I heard in mine own land of thy acts and of thy wisdom.
7 Howbeit I believed not the words, until I came, and mine eyes had seen it: and, behold, the half was not told me: thy wisdom and prosperity exceedeth the fame which I heard.
8 Happy are thy men, happy are these thy servants, which stand continually before thee, and that hear thy wisdom.
9 Blessed be the Lord thy God, which delighted in thee, to set thee on the throne of Israel: because the Lord loved Israel for ever, therefore made he thee king, to do judgment and justice.
10 And she gave the king an hundred and twenty talents of gold, and of spices very great store, and precious stones: there came no more such abundance of spices as these which the queen of Sheba gave to king Solomon.
11 And the navy also of Hiram, that brought gold from Ophir, brought in from Ophir great plenty of almug trees, and precious stones.
12 And the king made of the almug trees pillars for the house of the Lord, and for the king’s house, harps also and psalteries for singers: there came no such almug trees, nor were seen unto this day.
13 And king Solomon gave unto the queen of Sheba all her desire, whatsoever she asked, beside that which Solomon gave her of his royal bounty. So she turned and went to her own country, she and her servants.
14 Now the weight of gold that came to Solomon in one year was six hundred threescore and six talents of gold,
15 Beside that he had of the merchantmen, and of the traffick of the spice merchants, and of all the kings of Arabia, and of the governors of the country.
16 And king Solomon made two hundred targets of beaten gold: six hundred shekels of gold went to one target.
17 And he made three hundred shields of beaten gold; three pound of gold went to one shield: and the king put them in the house of the forest of Lebanon.
18 Moreover the king made a great throne of ivory, and overlaid it with the best gold.
19 The throne had six steps, and the top of the throne was round behind: and there were stays on either side on the place of the seat, and two lions stood beside the stays.
20 And twelve lions stood there on the one side and on the other upon the six steps: there was not the like made in any kingdom.
21 And all king Solomon’s drinking vessels were of gold, and all the vessels of the house of the forest of Lebanon were of pure gold; none were of silver: it was nothing accounted of in the days of Solomon.
22 For the king had at sea a navy of Tharshish with the navy of Hiram: once in three years came the navy of Tharshish, bringing gold, and silver, ivory, and apes, and peacocks.
23 So king Solomon exceeded all the kings of the earth for riches and for wisdom.
24 And all the earth sought to Solomon, to hear his wisdom, which God had put in his heart.
25 And they brought every man his present, vessels of silver, and vessels of gold, and garments, and armour, and spices, horses, and mules, a rate year by year.
26 And Solomon gathered together chariots and horsemen: and he had a thousand and four hundred chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen, whom he bestowed in the cities for chariots, and with the king at Jerusalem.
27 And the king made silver to be in Jerusalem as stones, and cedars made he to be as the sycomore trees that are in the vale, for abundance.
28 And Solomon had horses brought out of Egypt, and linen yarn: the king’s merchants received the linen yarn at a price.
29 And a chariot came up and went out of Egypt for six hundred shekels of silver, and an horse for an hundred and fifty: and so for all the kings of the Hittites, and for the kings of Syria, did they bring them out by their means.
